I have a 1949 Chevy deluxe coupe new paint new interior. I want to ask since u guys have the nice Chevy’s. Where can I get accessories for mine. Thank you
I’m 17 years old and I got a 51’ Styleline. And it makes me the happiest guy on earth lmao. And seeing other people smile when you drive by is just surreal.
just gotta repair my exhaust, probably gonna straight pipe it as it sounds great with muffler gone ha ha (came undone one morning lol) better to deal with two clamps than 4....
@@danielstein5290 this Styleline is almost near “perfect” condition (nowhere near) 😂 she is local car show level nice though. Needs a few things like the front disc breaks are dragging, it needs a vacuum system for the wipers, and the ti-rods need to be replaced and it needs to be aligned 😂. But other than that she is perfect. Brand new bored out 250CI straight six sitting under the hood with a 90’s Chevy S10 5-speed manual. I need to adjust the driver side doors so the bodily lines match up. And attach the rest of the chrome trim too. But I really want to straight pipe her.
My first ever car was a 49 Chevy convertable in a butter yellow color. That was in 1951 when i was 16 years old. I had the tail lights removed and had Cadilac tail lights installed on the fenders. I really wish i had kept that car, but i sold it for $1000 dollars and bought a new 52 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hardtop for 2300 dollars.
Beautiful cars! I was 5 y.o., in the back seat, when we where passed by another car. It was black, fat-fendered and fast-backed, w/flames on the hood and fenders! It blew my little mind!
I’m 77year old hot rodder my first car was a black 49 fast back with split manifold with glass packs, your car brought back memories, love to have back !
Appreciate the comments.. Great video again!! I am from Canada... So Canada to Cuba.. I just bought a '52 Bel Air.. It has the original 216 3 speed but I have a 261 with Offenhauser valve cover, intake and dual carbs. It has a Mallory dual point distributor and long tube headers with a bee hive oil filter... In Canada, that steering knob was called a "necker knob" back in the day, since you could kiss your girl while driving with the knob.. Very cool cars!
The knob on the steering wheel made the car easier to turn when you made a turn or when parking, I noticed that you don’t have the curb feelers on the front. They sure kept one from scratching up the car. I liked the sound they made when parking so you knew when you were parked.
It is the body lines, the curves, the different shapes is unique to those cars. Like the first and second gen vipers have that old and unique 50ies design. The round windshield and roof design on this old cars is breathtaking. Great video. God Bless.
Enjoyed this video, thanks for doing it!! The knobs are known as suicide or necker or necking knob which means you can put your right arm around your girl and still drive and turn with the left 😉
Greets from Belgium guys ! I can say that the passion you're talking about is also the thing that drives me into those oldschool American cars, it's just a special feeling. Currently i have a 1953 chevy bel air and my dad a 1959 Cadillac coupe.
These are really cool cars my favorite bomb is a 53 DeSoto fire Dome I think they called it my favorite car of all time is a red white and blue 58 Impala 348 tri-power
Very good video. I saw it just today. I had a 1951 chevy fastback like the two you show on your video. It sent me in to the early days for me. I remember lots of good times with that car. I replaced the clutch / plate / and bearing . for $25 bucks. and a axle was free. HAHA. like to have all that back. AZ . over
Nice cars. The 216 and 235 engines are both great around-town engines (especially if you can swap in a later full-pressure 235). One problem with having the rubber mats in the front of those old Chevys is that if you got water under them the mats would keep it from drying out (especially in colder climates) and it would be sitting under there though everything on top looked dry. It's very common to find rusted out spots on the driver and passenger side floorboards even on low mileage cars. (The mats don't have dams on them so it's easy for water to leak under if you were someone where you'd track melting snow into the car.) If you find a nice car with the original rubber mats it's worth taking a quick peek under there to check out the situation.
Low riding originate in the 1930’s in Los Angeles, Ca within the latino community there. If you look up Wikipedia, it says 1940’s but it was definately the 1930’s. Beauty of a 49. I used to have a cream colored 52 fleetline.
I like the both of the cars, however, if i had the 1951 I would build it into a Resto-Mod. I would start with a 283 Small block Chevy V8 and proceed to Resto-Mod the entire car. That's just me. But I also can appreciate the look of the original 1949/1951 cars, you have on display here. All original certainly has its place. Good Video.

Wish they still made cars like these ❤️
Love these cars and this is a prime example. Only thing is those chrome headlight eyebrows. They make the car look sleepy ❤👌
Badass video. Vibes bro 😎

I had one 50 Chevy like those and put dual exhaust at high school that was in 1958 , it was a wonderful car !
WOW, what a find. I’d say there are none like this old gal. Well Done Gentlemen.
The knob on the steering wheel made the car easier to turn when you made a turn or when parking, I noticed that you don’t have the curb feelers on the front. They sure kept one from scratching up the car. I liked the sound they made when parking so you knew when you were parked.
@28:23 - That's a steering wheel spinner knob. 😎👍
Nice to see others that keep um original an simple. They was very relatable as original . Very nice both of um !
Thanks for sharing, taking the time to show the details you did. I love to see the old school tricks still in action.

A suicide knob on a steering wheel is what I remember. I'm 74 and I remember my dad having a Blue 49 Chevy Fleetline 4 door .
These are really cool cars my favorite bomb is a 53 DeSoto fire Dome I think they called it my favorite car of all time is a red white and blue 58 Impala 348 tri-power

Sweet rides! I love the brick. I actually have a bag of sand in the bed of my son's 94 Toyota truck.

Beautiful cars man I should have never sold my 49 fleetline

I just bought a 1950 Fleetline Deluxe 4 door on Saturday. Beginning a full restoration. All original car. Unfortunately it needs a full restoration.

In really the fleetline are my favorite!!!😍👍
The knob on the steering wheel is called a spinner. Not to be confused with a small woman.
Absolutely Beautiful!!!
I absolutely love that 49, I had a 49 Pontiac Streamline same body style. If he sells it, I would be very interested!
