yummm! as a mexican i can recommend to use a piece of onion with oil for the grill instead of the napkin ;-) makes a big difference and it'll infuse your grill and food!!!
It's either this or the Vegan Halal Guys video that is my favorite of yours. Your marinade recipe is tops! I often just use 3 bags of Beyond Steak (which often goes on sale) to skip the seitan part, and cook that until slightly browned, and then into a container where I will drown the "steak" bits in that delicious marinade overnight.
Hope you're feeling better, Burger Man! The carne asada looks fantastic! I'm not a big fan of seitan, but I might just have to give this recipe a fair chance
Instead of soaking paper in oil, dip an onion cut in half and grease up the grill with it. then you can leave it on the grill for some delicious grilled onion action
Good to see you well again, TheeBurgerDude! I’ve always wanted to try Sam’s vegan steak recipe, and this is a tasty way to prepare and serve it…can’t ever go wrong with Mexican flavours, so, big thanks!
Hey Thee Burger Dude! This looks great!! Did you ever try beet powder or grated beets for the red dye? It might taste rooty, like beets, but sometimes beets are sweet. And they definitely add nutritional value. Can't wait for your book! Thanks for the inspiration.
I have never had carne asada so I didn't have high hopes for this video, but OMG that looks delicious! The combination of those spices (especially the chipotle in adobo) is making my mouth water 😋. I'll put this in my "Try later" folder, thanks!
What kind of lentils did you use? Because there are different kinds if you want them to hold there shape well or softer mushy, brown, green, red. Trader Joe's Whole Green Lentils. Trader Joe's Red Split Lentils. Trader Joe's Indian Fare Madras Lentils.
I'm not sure if you've tried this or even if it would be a better recommendation, but would it be better to poke holes all over the seitan before marinading to allow it to absorb better?
Looks great! Love how you marinade it, something that I think is so easy and adds so much flavor but I tend to always focus on the seasonings IN the seitan. Why not both?
I was wondering if you've ever had vegan Çiğ köfte. There's a place in my home town that sells it, but for obvious reasons they won't tell me the recipe xD. It's made with bulgur and a whole lot of herbs and spices, and it's absolutely delicious.
I am not vegan… but love the videos. Just winging it here: but would it be maybe more realistic by stretching the seitan, that you end up with strands (like the coarse meat fibers in skirt steak)?
My lady’s favorite food is tacos, and she’s on a seitan kick right now. This is perfect… for her. Sometimes her seitan is chewy and seemingly uncooked, like it doesn’t set up, even after lots of steaming, any help?
I would say like in the video, just make sure you don't over process and knead it. I made a couple where I did and it came out super chewy, so just mix and knead enough until it's combined. Resting overnight seems to make it better as well.
@@TheeBurgerDude have you not heard the opposite though? Like making seitan is supposed to give you a nice arm workout? Think we’ll deliberately work it less and see what happens. Thanks!
@@MrHandsomeboynow I know that avant garde vegan kneads and pummels his seitan lots. I don't know what the correct way is I guess it depends on resting time
do any of your recipes have nutrition facts?? only curious since i’m getting into meal prep!! been vegan for a decade & as a chicano I grew up with carne asada, this looks amazing!!!
How do thee Burger man feel about some simple Italian pasta dishes? Cacio e Pepe, Carbonara, Alfredo, Aglio E Olio, Limone... And vegan versions Neapolitan/New york style pizza...
Wow, I'm gonna have to try this out! Would you have any interest in doing fajita and gyro marinade recipes for seitan chicken (chickwheat)? I find that seitan is pretty absorbent, so I've been trying to figure out how to flavor the base protein properly for a future marinade. Mostly I'm concerned about the seitan retaining too much salt. That usually results in me getting a big headache the next day.
Every time I hear, “Vegan law,” it makes me laugh. Reminds me of the meme with the two ingredients vegans always have. Nutritional yeast and sriracha. 😂
Looks good. But I really don't like eating that much gluten. could you make it out of oats? There's this Finnish company, Gold &Green that makes vegan meats out of oats. It would be wonderful to learn how they make them.

I'm going to do that with everything.
My Mexican dad always cleaned the grill with an onion, too!
I just saw that over at Villa Cocina. Never seen it before but it makes a lot of sense.
As a mexican, onion makes THE difference in flavor.

I definitely have to give this a try, your soy curl asada Tortas are a staple in my house!

They look so good. Going to make these for taco night on saturday thanks for the inspo burger dude!
Yes letting your seitan rest overnight really makes the seitan better!
This looks bomb. Your channel is truly the best, you actually make good vegan food
very excited to try this one
best looking seitan I've seen yet!
Wow, I’m so impressed with this recipe. I’ll have to make it. Thank you!
So glad you made something with seitan, unfortunately I can't eat tofu!
Much love from the UK
This recipe is AMAZING! The texture and flavor are just unbelievable! Thank you!
What a great recipe ~ this looks amazing! Welcome back!
Yum! I just got a bag of vital wheat gluten and didn't know what to make with it. This sounds perfect!
I'm gonna try this tommorow, very exited!

I have! It doesn’t really stay red after cooking I’ve found.
@@TheeBurgerDude Yes, that's true. It sort of gets a muddy rusty color when I use it in baked goods.
I’ve tried powdered tomato which seems to work OK. I checked and the red dye was so cheap I bought it. 🤷🏻♂️

Looks absolutely incredible and can't wait to try!!!!!
Gotta get this ready for taco Tuesday next week!
Hell yeah dude I need more taco and seit an recipes, preferably together!
Looks amazing! I am for sure making this soon
Looks delicious! cant wait to try it :)
This looks so good
I've added kidney beans in place of lentils for that red ground meat like look.😊
Got me thinking 'bout fajitas!
Ahh yeah! 😮💨keep ‘em comin man
Looks great! Love how you marinade it, something that I think is so easy and adds so much flavor but I tend to always focus on the seasonings IN the seitan. Why not both?
Thanks!! Yup and reusing after it’s cut up adds so much more flavor / juiciness too!
@@TheeBurgerDude So nice to be able to reuse marinade! Can't do that with animal based meat!

Cool recipe, TBD. So is fear of aluminum touching food really a thing?
🤪

I’ve seen folks cut it into strands and then weave it or braid it for that effect!
You had me at ‘ubiquitous.’ ❤
Did you sip out a little bit of marinade, as a treat?
You made me VERY hungry for carne asada tacos
Love it! Have you tried using beet juice or a vegetable dye instead of artificial red food dye?
Looks great!

I found a killer new vegan steak from whole foods. i had it on a taco. yummy.
Looks like a banger, I wish so badly that I didn't have the cilantro-soap gene
Same here. I just can't eat it.
yum
You.make.me.hungry! 🤤
Bob: Your Carne Asada isnt even Beef
Thee Burger Dude: Carne Asada is Beef?
Ok I need to try this 😂
Did you suck the air out of the bag? Why have I never thought of that 😩 😅
haha yup, a straw works even better!
Every time I hear, “Vegan law,” it makes me laugh.

Our Pal Water!
I like to do a seitan-beet mixture for extra red "steak" cops.

It sounds like satan
