  • Congratulations on following Jesus! 🎉
💭 This course is for someone who just accepted Jesus or would like a refresh on the basics of Christianity.
🗓Basics is a four-week, interactive Next Step experience created to help establish
a new Christian in his or her faith. Basics is apart of our House of Study (Hos) designed to help Christians grow from a superficial understanding of our faith to a fuller, deeper practice of our faith.
✝️ It moves someone from making a decision for Jesus to understanding that decision and God’s purpose for us, the need for that decision, the realities of that decision, and our next steps forward.

    WEEK 4 - PART 1
    BIG IDEA
We must choose the life-long pathway called “discipleship” that leads to becoming more like Jesus. A disciple is someone who learns from and becomes like another.
    OBJECTIVE
We will understand that our spiritual journey is an endurance race, not a sprint! We’ll then discover two keys to being a disciple and growing spiritually (and becoming more like Jesus): Nutrition and Practice. Then we’ll finish today by identifying and choosing a Next Step.

    ✍Assignment #5
What is the promise Jesus gave?
How do our desires match up to God’s desires? How are you experiencing this in your newfound faith?
    Fill in the blank:
    The Christian life is a ______________ and it’s not a ______________.
What steps are you taking to prepare yourself for this marathon?
Challenge yourself: In the next week, dive deep into the great commission. Find out what it means, how Christians live it out, and find people who live it out to learn from them.
Pastor Galen talks about “investing” towards the end of the video. How do you plan to invest in the Church?
