    Janet, for some reason I can't add an answer to your question, so I'm hoping you see this. A tip-in is something that wasn't part of the original construction of the book that provides extra real estate for journaling etc. Is generally hinged to a page. It can flip out, up or down.
    This is from Sharon of Mad Paper Crush 'Tip-ins are basically something attached to a journal page on one side that allows it to “flip” - revealing more of the page. They are a way to add more journaling space to your journals - or even to add a whole new page to a completed journal.'

    Leigh, what great tips. This is my 2nd year of doing JJJ. Especially about embracing imperfection and doing what you want with what you have. I learned it the hard way that trying to do a page when I didn't like the prompt really never works for me. It made me feel bad and took the joy out of creating and I put more pressure on myself. As I go back and look at a my first journal I can see what I learned and what I liked the best. I've followed you for about a year now and have learned so much from watching but our styles are very different. Thats what I love about creating art. Its personal. Cheers from Kissimmee, Florida.

    Thanks so much for your video. Your tips are so encouraging : doing what you want with what you have, embracing imperfection and have fun. I agree too that for me its about learning. Unlike so many others on RUclips you're not promoting your products or kits....that has put so much pressure on me to buy things i really cant afford and thats not what art/journalling is all about. So thanks for your encouragement. Really appreciated. Take care. Cheers from Montreal.

      You are so welcome. I mention products occaisionally, usually if I don't is when people want to know about them though, lol.
      I still feel pressured to buy products by the big RUclipsrs, had to stop watching one of my faves after they became a creator for Tim Holtz which is a bit sad. So happy you liked this video Terersa, thank you.

      Absolutely, if it's not enjoyable why do it. Used to get so hung up on the prompts when I first started doing challenges but now my attitude is 'do what I love' and if nobody likes it that is their loss. So go forth and create with reckless abandon and have a ball. Hugs & cheers xx

    What great tips! I think I needed this little reminder to just have fun. I’m going at a very slow pace with Maggie May 😂. But I am excited to do more. Hey from Canada. Great tips Leigh. The take away for me is to not overthink, as some of the prompts are little abstract. I like your suggestion of what pops into your head when you think about the prompt.

    Thank you for the great tips ❤️ I’m not a beginner hav been joining this challenge a couple of times. And i really agree with the “you do you” tips. I used to copy what most people do eg: used vintage papers but i don’t have the authenthic sources so i bought the faux one but i hated it. Turned out i only did one or two prompts & hated them haha…now i just used what i have (mostly painted papers & magazines). The have fun only came after i accepted my own way & style :) Thank you again for sharing this 🎉❤

    • @leighcreates
      @leighcreates  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Painted papers seem to get overlooked in this type of challenge.
      There is so much more satisfaction using them than something you bought. Your personality is in the paper and they hold memories too. You may recall the day you made them, how you were feeling at the time, you may have used your favourite colours.
      I'm so happy that you found your style and are comfortable with it. Have a wonderful time during the challenge. Hugs & cheers.
