  • In this video I compare three new electricians scissors from Amazon to see how they compare to my old Klein and Commercial Electric brand scissors. The new scissors are by ARES, C. Jet Tool, and Work Pro. I show how they cut in a few different environments and how the designs differ.

On the Klien and other snips, your ring finger goes in the lower loop and the upper loop goes in the palm of your hand. You hold them like a pair of small in palm sewing scissors and use them by tightening and loosening your fist.
If you have anything larger than 6 pair CMR/CMP go grab the big Klien cable cutters that will chop off a finger.

Good information. I don't know why I said differently in the video.
Lol on the "cut your finger off" cable cutters.

I really enjoy the videos you put out. I'd love to see more people get into this career field.
I was taught (many years ago) that the thumb hole was never meant to be used and that part should always sit in the palm of your hand for leverage; even with the seemingly normal-looking snips. They certainly do get dull over time, and I consider them a consumable item. I tend to carry multiple sets for different materials.

Awesome. Thanks. Yeah the thumb hole is useless.
