Hey! Cool 9T. 👍 Never let your 9T warm up on the sidestand (all boxer engines either). The right cylinder isn't well lubrificated and the right cylinder can be damaged. The BMW dealer didn't tell me that, it's the forums that learned me that. My 9T scrambler have 84000km and no issues with the engine 😉 Also check oil level every 1000km (with engine stopped 15-20min, time to let the oil in the radiator pouring down). Boxer engine tends to consume around 100-120ml of oil/1000km and it's dangerous for the seals to have to much oil (=overpressure).
You did a good job. When I first changed the oil and filter on my R nine T, I felt the same. Even though I’d done the procedure on previous bike’s and cars, every machine is a bit different and unless you have the latest workshop facilities, (which I don’t) it’s a lot different to the manuals and vlogs!
You're a braver man than I am when it comes to doing self maintenance on an expensive Bike, although I hate giving up all that money I still take my BMW to the dealership even though it looks so simple, so r9t maybe different but I know BMW says that their bikes are oil change every 6k miles or every 12 months which ever happens first, assuming you've done the 600 mile check at the dealership already. I would assume every 5k miles would be more suitable to keep things a little cleaner and if you want your bike to last a lifetime which r9t fits that "keep it for life and pass it on to your son" category! I also dislike very much the r9t doesn't even have a fuel, oil, gear, nor tach o meter readings BMW really dropped the ball on that one it's 2021 literally every other brand has it, If I get the r9t the first thing I am buying for it is the KOSO DL-04 multifunction meter, look into it you may want to add that to your r9t! Personally, I like to do self maintenance not because of the money but mainly because of that I wanna take good care of my r9t by myself as he is my bby haha:) I will change the oil every 5k miles since I want him to last a lifetime. And yes, actually I was gonna buy the KOSO meter but I wanna buy camping gears first haha
5.000-6.000 km is OK, given that the official interval is 10.000 km. Are you using torque wrenches? It seemed to me, for example, that you tightened the oil filter quite much. I can give you service manual, too, if you want.
I enjoy the artsy look of your footage, but you should focus a bit more on the practical aspects and a little less on the looks. The footage under the engine is way too dark...

I have the same r9t, is this the 1000km change oil? how did you reset the service interval light
Ideally change oil every 5 thousand kms. But for better performance i change every 3k.
