I have mentioned this online before. When I was in college, I drifted far away from the Lord and His Church. Thank God for my praying mother, who never stopped praying the rosary. After college my husband and I experienced a deep conversion back to the faith. We decided to visit the college that I attended and see the dorm room where I lived. You can imagine my complete shock and surprise when I saw on the door of my college dorm room the picture of Divine Mercy. What was even more astonishing was that this was a very liberal college and religious imagery wasn’t seen very much if at all. I mentioned to God that I have to go to heaven because it will take me all of eternity to praise Him for what He has done for me! “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever.” Ps 89:1
Father, may everything that I do this day, whether it be full of joy or pain, whether it be full of love or of grief, I ask that everything I go through today be offered to you just like Jesus offered everything to you. It is in his name we pray. Amen. 9/3/2023.
We can't really understand what it is to be forgiven until we really grasp what it is we're forgiven of. We must have a 'felt need' for mercy, for forgiveness, for God, to mend our brokenness with God, others and ourselves. Everytime we sin, we trade our love for God - the ultimate thing - for a non-ultimate thing. We become less human and revolt against God.😢 The root of sin is in our hearts, in our free will. We need Jesus into our hearts to fill them with love and heal our brokenness.❤

Thank you for this beautiful prayer, it means so much to me. I went to an outside urgent care. After seeing all the security guards in full uniform with guns and bully clubs at the hospital when I visited my friend; I hope I do not have to go there. The hospital use to be a place of healing and love. " Do No Harm" is NOT the oath of the doctors anymore. I was told that all those security guards were to prevent the patients from leaving. This world is growing so evil. I join my prayers with yours to comfort our Lord for the sinful way humanity is treating Him. I have a feeling that my body is wearing out and my soul would like to free itself and soar to eternity, but I need to remain planted here to continue making amends to God for my sins and the sins of humanity. I love how Father Mike pointed out we can sin against God, our neighbor, and ourselves. I never thought about sinning against ourselves. But that makes sense. The drug user or other abuse we do against our bodies are sins against ourselves.

@@TrixRN Went to urgent care and got an antibiotic for a kidney infection. The doctor there is concerned about my massively swollen feet going up to my knees. She said if I am not extremally better my Monday that I should go the the hospital er where they could do more tests. I am to keep completely off my feet for the next three days. My son is going to the Sunday morning mass, but unfortunately I will have to remain home and watch the mass on TV. ❤🙏

The acceptance of God's mercy requires us to admit we are sinners, admit our faults, repent of our sins, and beg for forgiveness. God is Merciful because He loves us all 🙏

Day 246 takeaways: We cannot understand mercy until we can understand sin. The entire gospel focuses on gods mercy towards sinners. Until we are desperate for forgiveness, Mercy can seem irrelevant. The Eucharist is the Sacrament of Redemption for the forgiveness of sins. If we see Confession as a burden, then the joy, the gratitude, the amazing Good News of God’s mercy is lost. We need to realize that we need God. God created us without our permission, but he will NOT save us without our permission and cooperation. Sin is a failure of genuine love for God and neighbor, caused by a perverse attachment to certain goods. Sin wounds the nature of man ad injures human solidarity. The measure of a sin is NOT, “Did someone get hurt?” The measure of sin is, “Did I violate God’s Law?” Every sin, like the first sin, is DISOBEDIENCE. Sin is saying, “God I know what You want. God permits things to happen for a greater reason. You will never understand until we get to Heave. I questioned why I suffered 2 miscarriages but I'm and trying to stay Holy, go to mass as often as possible, never miss Sunday mass unless I am sick, and go to confession at least once per week.

No. When you say, "I'll see you soon," you mean it. When you stand in the cemetery and stare down at the soft, freshly turned earth and promise, I'll see you soon, you speak truth. Thank you to Jesus that you came to die on the cross and rise again so we wouldn't be afraid of death! I appreciate that the will of our Father made known by the Son empowered by the Holy Spirit through Ever Virgin Most Powerful, triumph and reign, through the work of human hands which includes Catechism in a Year!
I love how Father Mike pointed out we can sin against God, our neighbor, and ourselves. I never thought about sinning against ourselves. But that makes sense. The drug user or other abuse we do against our bodies are sins against ourselves.

@@TrixRN Went to urgent care and got an antibiotic for a kidney infection. The doctor there is concerned about my massively swollen feet going up to my knees. She said if I am not extremally better my Monday that I should go the the hospital er where they could do more tests. I am to keep completely off my feet for the next three days. My son is going to the Sunday morning mass, but unfortunately I will have to remain home and watch the mass on TV. ❤🙏

Father Mike, what if person decides to not be sinful anymore, and of course, with God's grace and blessings all things are possible... so God granted, this person can then remember the good news because they are living this blessed life because of God's Mercy.
Sin is an offence against God in disobedience to His love. It wounds the human nature and injures the human solidarity. Christ in His passion fully revealed the seriousness of sin and overcame it with His mercy.
There are many kinds of sins. They can directly concern God, neighbour, or ourselves. They can also be divided into sins of thought,of word, of deed, or of omission. The acceptance of God's mercy requires us to admit we are sinners, admit our faults, repent of our sins, and beg for forgiveness. God is Merciful because He loves us all 🙏

Day 246 takeaways: We cannot understand mercy until we can understand sin. The entire gospel focuses on gods mercy towards sinners. Until we are desperate for forgiveness, Mercy can seem irrelevant. The Eucharist is the Sacrament of Redemption for the forgiveness of sins. If we see Confession as a burden, then the joy, the gratitude, the amazing Good News of God’s mercy is lost. We need to realize that we need God. God created us without our permission, but he will NOT save us without our permission and cooperation. Sin is a failure of genuine love for God and neighbor, caused by a perverse attachment to certain goods. Sin wounds the nature of man ad injures human solidarity. The measure of a sin is NOT, “Did someone get hurt?” The measure of sin is, “Did I violate God’s Law?” Every sin, like the first sin, is DISOBEDIENCE. Sin is saying, “God I know what You want. I don’t care. I want what I want.” Sin is love of oneself even to the contempt of God. Sin is diametrically opposed to obedience to Jesus. Jesus says that sins come from within us. He lists them - evil thoughts, murder, adultery, formication, theft, false witness, slander. Paul continues the list adding impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, envy, drunkenness, carousing and the like. Sin can be in thought, word, deed and some are sins of omission. The ROOT of sin is in our hearts, in our free will. But, in the heart also resides charity - the source of good and pure works. So our hearts are good, just broken. Jesus came to SAVE us, FORGIVE us, and bring us His MERCY, but we have to allow Him to do this by making frequent use of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

I want to ask if god was good why did he kill my family
God permits things to happen for a greater reason. You will never understand until we get to Heave. I questioned why I suffered 2 miscarriages but I'm and trying to stay Holy, go to mass as often as possible, never miss Sunday mass unless I am sick, and go to confession at least once per week.
God has the last word on death. And, if you listen, He will tell you the truth about your loved ones. They've been dismissed from the hospital called Earth. You and I still roam the halls, smell the medicines, and eat green beans and Jell-O off plastic trays. They, meanwhile, enjoy picnics, inhale springtime, and run through knee-high flowers. You miss them like crazy, but can you deny the truth? They have no pain, doubt, or struggle. They really are happier in Heaven. And you won't see them soon? When you drop your kids off at school, do you weep as though you'll never see them again? When you drop your spouse at the store and park the car, do you bid a final forever farewell? No. When you say, "I'll see you soon," you mean it. When you stand in the cemetery and stare down at the soft, freshly turned earth and promise, I'll see you soon, you speak truth.
