Fun fact: If you've read all the Crossed comics and just want a little more well I managed to find this gem from another comic book artist. Search Mercury Heat Volume Two, issues 7-12 has a surprise twist. It should suffice and enjoy. Cheers 🍻
The single exception of an infected person with the crossed virus is that girl from the book named "Crossed Wish you were here" , more specificaly the nun , she had an "X" wound on her face and when she got infected the "X" was her infection signal.
Great video about the crossed comics there’s a movie called The Sadness that’s basically a cross movie. I also gotta agree with you most of it is indeed campy and very of the top and made for pure shock but when done right I honestly enjoyed the over the top nature of the yakuza one reminded me of zombie land and the prison one was honestly pretty cool. As for wish you were here it is honestly the better crossed story along side a few others.
There's a new Comic book that just recently floated on Webtoon, tapas, and mangaplus called MUNDO NG SIRA ULO. The title is in Tagalog but it's full English, it's literally like crossed! Too much sex and violence all over!
I forget the name of the two stories, but there’s two that follow a group of 4 soldiers from the UK that also are really well done. Not many people talk about this series, I kinda understand since much of it comes off as depraved for the sake of shock, but I agree with your picks as far as the better stories in the series go.
the two stories you were talking about with the 4 soliders were The Fatal Englishman (badlands issues 25-28) and The Thin Red Line (badlands issues 50-56) they are in my opinion the best crossed stories and is a must read
Mainly heard of this series thanks to the movie The Sadness which has Crossed as an influence. The Sadness I really enjoy where as Crossed to me feels like its trying to be disturbing but comes across as an over the top checklist and becomes almost a parody to me. Its reaks of mid 2000s edge but I respect Ennis for creating such a series and it is entertaining (in a 1970s Exploitation/Grindhouse movie sorta way lol)
Hell yeah you should

Omg what a coincidence, I just read it too! The Drill scene makes my skin crawl, it's indeed the new CROSSED for the new generation!
