He then takes it on an epic 750-nautical mile journey from Toronto to Montreal to New York City. This is the second stretch and includes some upgrades to make the old girl safer and better for this type of journey.

@15:30 (Lachine docks being empty still) FYI, the current Montreal mayoress (Valérie Plante) unilaterally closed the Lachine marina back in 2020 as she deemed boating to be an environmental hazard, and instead seeks to convert the marina into a park… But get this, the Lachine marina is next to… an existing park (!?!), the René-Lévesque park. Looking at the marina/park by aerial view (on Google Earth for example) shows how ridiculous this situation is.

Interesting... thanks for the local intel.
We feel boaters are the most interested in water safety as they are on - and often IN - the water for waterskiing, swimming, wakeboarding, etc.

That was a fantastic video and something quite interesting to me with a modest budget. Most of my friends are looking for a boating experience in and around that price point, scary thou with a 25 plus yr old boat and potential maintenance issues, would love to know much much more. Will follow , take care

Thanks for watching! You're right, this size of journey in this old of a boat is not recommended for first-timers. The idea was that Steve has years of boating experience on the Great Lakes and wanted to show that the boat is capable of the journey. Definitely had some hiccups with things like water system but overall the preventative maintenance kept things running smoothly!
      Thanks for the comment!
