- Chevy Silverado Misfire , Dirty Injector ,.This 1999 Chevy Silverado was running badly and had a misfire. The Chevy Silverado hooked up to the Scanner showed a misfire on number eight cylinder .The 5.3 in the chevy Silverado is easy to switch ignition coil and plug wire with another cylinder. After swapping two coils the misfire stayed the same, so i pulled the number eight and number six spark plugs , done a compression check on those two cylinders and then swapped the spark plugs. Still no change and compression was same on both cylinders. Then i pulled number eight fuel injector and cleaned it . After cleaning the injectors the Chevy Silverado truck runs like new.
auto repair, car repair, wtbm123.
I have noticed that this is common with Cyl 7 and 8 on the truck engines, seems the trash in the fuel rail like to collect on the back 2 cyl's
Excellent diagnosis and trouble shooting. Process of elimination is always a good way to save buying parts you don't need to buy.
One of the best videos i have seen on diagnosing a misfire.... thank you.
This guy deserves a beer 🍺 & another one beer 🍺 !!!! Thank you
Another good how to WTBM! Hope the cleaning of the injector done the trick. Also cool truck from 65ford. Have a good'n
wish i could afford one of these scanners
I disagree entirely, YOU made a damn good video, you didn't rush it one bit, you gave me no less than 2 maby three more things to look at, and gunna save me hours on top of hours . Thank you . And 2 thumbs up.
Proper diagnosis is key! Good video
More than enough info for me. I have the same truck and was wondering what the voltage for the injectors was. Your video helped me out alot. Thanks
Good enough how to for me. Not too technical. I appreciate it👏👏
I made one of 65 fords injector tools and improved on the sealing a bit . I put a vid up of it . Good info man !
Dude this was great vid quick and to the point without a lot of useless info and back story. THIS WAS GREAT and has giving me some definitive direction to take with my 8th cylinder misfire on my 99 suburban. Sadly it is spider style injection. Lots of fun! Thanks again!!!!!
I changed all my injectors, I knew they could be “cleaned” but didn’t know the screen came out, gonna go back and look at old ones to learn how that works. Great video 👍👍
Very informative. Lots of good stuff in there. I didn't know we could clean injectors that way. Gonna give it a shot. Thanks.
I just had to do the same thing with number 7 fuel injector replaced it erase the codes and now I'm hoping and praying it doesn't come back on idle smoother haven't taken on the freeway or anything yet but I will a little bit later and it's video helped me out a whole lot, appreciate it
Great job man I'm gonna be doing this asap I gotta misfire random that I can't get out of a 02 avalanche and this is just what I needed to see thanks man
great stuff Terry, I don't know much about "computerized" cars, I appreciate the info!
Thank you Sir. Every little insight helps.
When I cleaned mine I blew the cleaner through the injector from the bottom to the top. First time I ever cleaned an injector and it worked great.
good video, my neighbours silverado had excacly the same problem. my chev is doing the same now.
