I don't think you guys are being hyper critical especially given the back half. I've said it before I had a love hate relationship with The Sword of Kaigen. The front half was bewitching, I always love learning about a world, it's culture and characters. The back half made me want to put it down, that duel kind of saved it for me. The Final chapter however finished it off by asking questions that we'll never get answered. Drives me up a wall. Anyways, I looked forward to your future uploads. 🎉 Happy Holidays to you both
“Bewitching” is a great description for the first half! Sounds like we had a very similar experience. Wanted so badly to like it more! Happy Holidays 🙌
liked this but few issues i had which might just have been you guys forgetting stuff or mixing stuff up between reading and making this video. 1: takeru doesn't fall off the mountain, he falls off the front porch after getting beaten up and hearing his brother crying after getting the shit kicked out of him for protecting takeru from their father and so he drags him self over the edge of the porch so he can turn into the mountain. 2: the reason for her brother coming was so that he can teach her about the logic behind blood bending so she could be strong enough for the duel(her brother is there as a misaki power up). without her brother she cant become strong enough to fight takeru and push him to be the man her father thought he was and mend their relationship. 3. agree, the ending wasnt the best best but i get why she did the robin chapter as this is a prequel to her theonite YA series that goes through daniel and robins story where they go to a parallel dimension fighting this god villain this series tho as of 2023 has been removed entirely from amazon and she is no longer sharing the pdf as well as having ended the whole theonite universe so truthfully the book would be better if the robin chapter was completely removed and replaced with an epilogue of stuff like izu becoming a genius, hiro making his whispering blade and the town after the rebuild and the relationship between her and takeru deepening and who knows maybe they have another child and its a daughter. given there is no need to connect sword of kaigen to a book series that's no longer available the assassins' scene is weird and out of place and truthfully kinda ruins the end of the duel. would have loved instead to see the scene where takeru is training hiro the day after the duel and its much more like the training mammoru should have been taught, with kindness and maybe misaki is also in the dojo and hiro bleeds and teaches him how to blood bend to fix a injured lip in the middle of training.
