I have 3 Gritzners. 2 of them were US-sold machines that were branded as Kenmores. The third is a VG straight stitch only treadle (smoothest treadle machine I've seen). I would buy an HZ in a heartbeat.
@@bondmachines I have been repairing machines for a few years. Some I refuse to sell for less than I think they are worth. Gritzner is not a well known name like Pfaff so they don't sell for as uch even though they are often better machines. The ones that were sold as Kenmores go for $50-$70 in local markets. Gritzner are my favorite machines though and I won't sell that treadle for anything.
I agree. Very smooth to sew with. And strong AF! I have this exact same machine that is on display here, and I just use it as a second machine. There is an opportunity to use a double needle as well . Pfaff 230 /260 Has a food in store with 2 needle holes in it. I am Looking for them around now. maybe they fit in the Gritzner too. I have also a 230 Pfaff. A 230 Pfaff automatic , and a Pfaff 232 automatic. And a Pfaff 62 which runs also veryvery smooth. Thats bc they have no belt then a gear instead. such good running straight/zigzag machines are a joy to use with footpaddle! Erytime I habe a lot straight and zigzag projects to work on, i use the Gritzner. I love this machine!
@@beakittelscherz5419 Those are all serious machines. Pfaff actually bought Gritzner out iirc so some of those Pfaffs were probably actually made in the same factory. I didn't know about the gear driven Pfaff but that sounds really ideal.
