I get people all the time asking me why I like country. It's because one little song can feel like it was written just for you, and how in less than four minutes you're transported back in time to a world of old, bittersweet memories. Nobody, and I do mean nobody, can tap into the soul of regret and loneliness like country music can. This gets you deep deep deep in the feelings and sometimes that's where you need to be.
You my friend just took the words right from my mouth. I'm one of few people i know who listen to country and i have to say people who listen to country are a different breed. You either get it or you dont.
I think it's the beer bar girls truck jesus country that many people are put off. But heartbreak country is superior to any other genre of music in tugging your heartstrings.

My all time favorite song since 2004! I was 17 when I first heard it and I know every word by heart still to this day. Here it is 18 years later and I'm 35 now and this song still gets me in my feels and makes me smile and cry at the same time. 💓
I forgot how good rascal Flatts was/is! They were a huge part of my teenage years. It seemed like every time I turned on CMT, they were on. I can't watch one of their videos without thinking of my late mother. She'd always say, "it looks like he fixed his hair with an egg beater...with the egg still in it!"
Anybody who sings can appreciate the intricacies of this man's voice while he's singing. He's one of the best ever. You could practice singing his songs for years and still find out something that he's doing that you never heard. He's literally the Eddie Van Halen of vocals. There are millions of people that can play the guitar and play a million notes and singers that do vocal gymnastics but most of them are just making a bunch of noise. This guy actually can melt your heart with his voice. And like I said if you're experienced you will notice what he's doing and it's unbelievable if you sit and listen to every note. Vibrato, head voice, falsetto for .1 second back into full voice with vibrato and then a nice soft tone like he's singing you to sleep. And he hits 10 notes in 3 seconds sometimes. Definitely underrated.
I sort of agree to a certain extent, for me losing my nan hurts far worse than me suffering a fractured skull, traumatic brain injury and a damaged spine after a fall on to my head and all the pain afterwards because I am still here and I wish with all my heart that my nan was still here and that is 2 different hurts from 1 person's perceptive, I also agree with born free that something like being raped isn't like breaking up with something but it is down to the individual because someone who gets raped could overcome that, they could grow up to become an amazing person putting the past in the past where as someone else may break up with someone and they might spiral in to depression and suicidal thoughts and even attempting suicide, because of their 2 person's personalities, everyone reacts differently to different things 2 people may break up and one might be ok they may be upset in the beginning and then they may realise that life goes on that yes we broke up because of x,y and z so how am I going to improve the things I did wrong in the relationship so they don't happen again but someone else may seem fine in the beginning but spiral in to depression and feel like they can't carry on without the other person, I have never been raped so I can't really comment on the after affects of going through such an ordeal, I can comment about other things like suffering a traumatic brain injury and losing a loved one, people say they have it worse or that person has it worse but we all have our own struggles and difficulties in life, the thing is we never truly know what someone else is going through what ever that may be so all we can be is to be kind and try to help other people and hopefully when we need the help there are people who are there for us for when we need help.
@@bornfree8073 As if that makes it right to belittle someone else's problems. I feel sorry for both of them and they both have the right to share their story without harassment

Let me start off my saying my grandma LOVED Rascal Flatts. She’d always tell me the story of how she met Gary and Gary hugged her neck😂 well, I recently lost her to covid-19. About four weeks ago tomorrow actually. I recently made a playlist of all the songs I used to listen to when I was staying with her and this is definitely on the list. I’m finding a strange type of comfort in this song. Makes me feel like I’m 6 or 7 again in my pigtail braids jamming with her.
I don't usually get emotional over music. It takes a certain song under certain lyrics (often powerful ones) to hit hard with me. This one fits that bill perfectly. its so catchy and powerful I was smiling and crying the whole way through.

Rascal Flatts have become a solid staple within country music. One of my go too band's for emotionally raw lyrics. Lyrically they make most writer's sound like a 7 year old wrote it, comparitively of course hehe
Aug 9, 2002 - Rascal Flatts' "These Days" video debuts on CMT's "Most Wanted Live." Exactly one year later in 2003, bass player Jay DeMarcus gets engaged to Allison Alderson in New York. The couple met when she appeared in the band's "These Days" video.
Helps you keep hope that one day the right person will show up AGAIN! It's a song, very sad, about his ex, maybe a one true love, he lost, but then met up with again and he just... walked away. Like I said, very sad.
I love this Song. They make me cry and smile. I'm glad theyre a band. Thank you. And no rude comments will effect them. I've been through worse. Doesn't mean you should take it out on people you don't know. Don't judge a book by its cover.
This song is still one of the band's best. I'm proud to be a longtime fan; country music won't be the same without you guys. Thanks for all the music, and the memories too.
I dedicate this to my friend and first love Jeannette. even though I know she rejected me back in 2012 'cause she has a boyfriend. I still like her and think about her these days

Country is but three chords and a broken heart
Absolutely true. This song is a great example of that...along with "What Mattered Most" by Ty Herndon.
The power of Rascal Flatts
I think it's the beer bar girls truck jesus country that many people are put off. But heartbreak country is superior to any other genre of music in tugging your heartstrings.
You know what's sad is you missed a person that you're broken up with but yet you would never go back to her even if you had the chance

I hate when people say they have been through worse. They have just been through something different, that doesn't make it any easier

He is fall in love with a sweet beautiful perfect girl ever met 😍
😍 My love just sent me this song to show me how he felt during our 20 years apart!!! Yes it is possible to reunite with that lost love! We did it❤️
Rascal Flatts have become a solid staple within country music. One of my go too band's for emotionally raw lyrics. Lyrically they make most writer's sound like a 7 year old wrote it, comparitively of course hehe
Absolute facts. Never thought I would cry to this song but here we are at 27. "Life throws ya curves but I've learned to swerve"

Probably will never stop thinking about you ... 🫶🏻
I like Rascal Flatts.

It's a song, very sad, about his ex, maybe a one true love, he lost, but then met up with again and he just... walked away. Like I said, very sad.

it would be awesome to see Rascal Flatts perform live.
Did last time in Tampa florida. Only my second real concert ever. Got the pit passes. It was amazing
I saw them years ago with my sister and it is just as amazing as you would expect it to be. Still one of my favorite concerts.
Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.

Man this song hits so much differently 12 years later! Got me over here reminiscing
I am not really a country music person. However this song just hits me hard right in my heart.
Smiles, hi Marilyn 🌺 😊

This is my all time favorite country song too
Mine too, it reminds me of someone 😢
This is the sort of conversational stream of consciousness lyrics I love. Gentle real life with added dreams. Like sprinkles on a cake. ❤
This was one of the songs that made me fall in love with country music. Classic and great
"Punch the clock, head for home, check the phone, just in case... Go to bed, dream of you, that's what I'm doing these days."
Truth
Video blonde is Allison Demarcus (Miss TN) this is how she and Jay met....later married. ❤️
I hate country music, but I listened to this because of the title. I loved it!
Hello Rosalind. Your comments are very interesting to view. Hope you're good?
Hi Rosalina, how are you doing today
Those days hurt so much...still do when I remember...

Country music back in the day 💙💙
