And learn to spot a bull in must ! Great video !
Elephants are so bright and human like. Look at how he was watching the tourist and how he cautiously walked by the car in the tight space. Amazing. This is no "rampage".
I think he was trying to teach them how to build a wall to protect themselves from the lion pride stalking them. Trees and braches are mushed together to make a dense, scratchy tall and wide wall that lions cannot jump over or get thru. Trees near the building could be used by lions to get on roof or to perch to jum p on a person walking. Plus the downed trees could prevent lions getting beneath the building. The elephant calmed after he showed them how to build the wall or took down trees by the building. He knew what lions were doing, and planning. Smat and protective. And very angry at lions--not people. He was careful not to hurt their car or camp; tree broken only to make a lion barrier. He wants you to walk down the walkway and pet him. He gets extra food for putting a show on for all the new guests. He is waiting on the piano recital. But damn he is huge!
I’m not convinced this guy was in musth. The leaking at the temporal lobes can happen at any time of the year, not only when they are in musth. When they are in that stage, the secretion is usually drenching the sides of the face and incredibly smelly. The most telling sign of musth is a constant dribble of urine that leaves wet, greenish stains on their back legs and also stinks to high heaven. I didn’t signs of that on this bull. Elephants knock trees over all the time searching for food and water (they actually fell more trees every year than humans!) and he was either curious or had an itch and the truck bed was the perfect height to scratch it. He wasn’t really showing any signs he was particularly annoyed just showing off how big and strong he is. It was an awesome experience, thanks for sharing!
Look closely around 4:50 and you'll see him dribbling urine. Also, the lower part of his hind legs are wet, soaked in urine. I agree that the streaming at the temples is not enough to indicate musth. It's a sign of emotion or excitement, both in bulls and cows.
First thank you for being brave enough to take a video of this majestic animal trying to tear apart your whole campsite. Where did you stay that you had such visitors. A bull elephant in must. And a pride of lions.
What this video portray to us humans is that the entire! World is NOT about us and AlL our things. Sometimes WE have to honor those bigge than us so that they I'll honor us
4:44 .. ' This guy is like rampaging...' LOL. If he was on the rampage he'd have trashed the hut in double quick time. And he took those two trees down in the most gentlemanly way. Probably a bit peeved they didn't even offer him a bun- just stared rudely at his john Thomas.
I think he knocked those trees down and shoved them where he did trying to teach them how to protect themselves from the pride of female lions watching them. That is how locals taught Survivor Africa cast to build walls very thick and tall to keep lions out of camp at night--they cannot jump over and cannot get thru dense scratchy brush. Could have kept the lions from getting on walkway, on roof, or under building. This was a worried and smart guy. They (western biologists) are just learning how psychic elephants are. (knew baby was born out of sight, etc. but that is not why they know this). I think he was trying to protect harmless but ignorant people from a massacre.
@@cyninbend I sincerely doubt a bull elephant in musth gives a flying fuck about their well-being, it's probably having a tooth(tusks)ache and wanted to put pressure against the pain 😅

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond with great information. Funny, that thought about leaves at the top of a tree actually crossed my mind, but I dismissed it. In shows and videos of Africa I would expect to see a lot of fallen dead trees, but haven't noticed them. Silly, huh? Thank you again.
When the women exclaimed with nervous excitement that it was a male @1:47 just as the second trunk majestically appeared, I literally peed myself laughing. Then, as if that wasn't funny enough, she preceded to ask her husband "why did that pop out?" Bwahaha.........without a response he turned to her, gave her a wry smile and then turned back towards the beast that was meandering through the courtyard with abandon. Awesome footage guys, cheers and thanks for the laughs even though this video was recommended to me in 2021 it made my day👍

First thank you for being brave enough to take a video of this majestic animal trying to tear apart your whole campsite. Where did you stay that you had such visitors. A bull elephant in
must.
And a pride of lions.
Game reserve in S. Africa.
What a magnificent Elephant ... wow
@@cyninbend 8
@@cyninbend I sincerely doubt a bull elephant in musth gives a flying fuck about their well-being, it's probably having a tooth(tusks)ache and wanted to put pressure against the pain 😅
a very mellow, very tolerant giant.... you were lucky
👍🏻
These folks don't seem to know much. Ya see an elephant in musk, ya know he's temperamental. Dah, "it's a male"! So, they stand around watching when the big guy could rip right through the place in a minute. He's not "raging". Thanks for a great video, anyway.
Eyota Chenoa totally agree these people know nothing about Elephants but had the money to go on vacation an learn
@@tj1978love - Did they learn anything?
Anybody else think he was gonna make love to that pickup
@@tj1978love Oh yeah.
You don't know much either. It's called "musth" not "musk."
That was one of the coolest and funny encounters I've seen on here. Loved your commentary!
Thanks. 🤣😂
When he pushes down a tree that he's not eating, in the way he has done here, he's showing you what he can do.
He was not happy that the tree was looking at him funny. 😂😂

Simply wow!!! You are so lucky to have witnessed such a majestic animal so close.
INDEED
When the women exclaimed with nervous excitement that it was a male @1:47 just as the second trunk majestically appeared, I literally peed myself laughing. Then, as if that wasn't funny enough, she preceded to ask her husband "why did that pop out?" Bwahaha.........without a response he turned to her, gave her a wry smile and then turned back towards the beast that was meandering through the courtyard with abandon.
Awesome footage guys, cheers and thanks for the laughs even though this video was recommended to me in 2021 it made my day👍
If the car had show the least bit of appreciation, it would be pregnant by now...
😳😳
Kid: "why did he do that?"... cause he can!
Veronica C. 😂
I would soove it if i lived where these beautful majestic beauties walked into my yard. Ive loved elephants all my life, im almost 62.
Look at the size of that elephant relative to the truck
to be fair, the truck's tires weren't completely inflated
He is huge , African Elephants are bigger , imagine be in front of both
Wonderful experience, congrats. Those stains on his face? -- he's in musth. You're fortunate he was so chill.
Trees looked dead anyway. Just like my landscaper, he was just doing some spring cleanup.
How crazy he is. This elephant is in musth. When bull elephants are mature, they begin going into a periodic phase known as musth, characterized by high levels of testosterone and a spurt in energy, during which they show heightened aggression and unpredictability.
👍🏻
What a good boy he could've taken out the rails flipped the vechile with ease, he truly was a gentleman!" It's there land his trees
5:18 He broke a rail when he knocked down the tree.
Ummm you're in the fucking wild and on their land. If you see a big elephant coming at you, instead of filming it, you get tf away from it. The human race is the problem on this Earth. Overpopulated and destroying this planet and the animals on it. People just love killing things for fun.
@@inconspicuousdaddy6307 Okay genius , did the elephant harm anyone.?? No.
People who love wild animals in THEIR habitat understand that they are encroaching upon the animal's space and respect that fact. We didn't see any humans here risk their lives for the sake of filming this beautiful animal.
And im sure they are well aware of the risks of getting their vehicle damaged , and im positive NOBODY there was thinking .." I wish I could KILL this magnificent animal because it's walking too close." lol
You talk like someone who knows absolutely NOTHING about life ....but pretends to.👍👍
@@inconspicuousdaddy6307 .." I'm sorry but if that tree in the video fell on a person "........😂
I now realize I'm having a discussion with a 10 year old. ( at least I HOPE you're 10..😬 ) And if you're NOT a 10 year old child ... Yikes , then I'm afraid that makes you a Tier 1 Buffoon.
@@inconspicuousdaddy6307 LOL...!!!
I will say this , you have succeeded in making me laugh , so for that I say thank you Champ.
Gotta go for now , some of us adults actually work . I'm sure your parents will explain to you the importance of Employment when you're a little older.
That is if you can find a job that allows you to wear ur hockey helmet. ??
Either way , it's been fun kid cheers 🍻.
Elephant just being an elephant. I love that 💙
Yeah. He was just hanging out being HUGE. 👍🏻👍🏻
see oil type liquid coming near ears..seems the elephant needs a
partner..dangerous period for humans to go near..tq god..hatsup to the people for the great video.
Lucky it didn't take a shine at you and your missy , the little bamboo ramp wouldn't have been any good to stop this guy .
Majestic
Wow! What an awesome experience!! They are so big yet walk so lightly and gracefully. I now want to see a elephant in real life. But I won't pay to go see them abused or for people's entertainment. They should all be able to live free in the wild!! 🐘
🙏🏻🙏🏻
He's just checkin you guys out!!!! Chillin!!
😁😁😁😁😁😁
Someone called for some tree trimming... this guy shows up.
Lol
😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Peter Smith He’s a jack of all trades 🧐😂😂😂
He’s a jack of all trades 🤣🤣🧐🤣
That's The Landlord. Are you all caught up with the rent?
Huh?
😲👊❤️OMFG ITS LIKE HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!!🤯❤️🤯❤️😲❤️😁❤️🤯😁❤️LOOK AT THAT!!!!!!😲
Incredible when he knocked those trees over, like they were mere twigs. When your wife said, “Why did THAT pop out?” and the look on your face was, “Duh, why do you think it did...” LMAO
Elephant wants to politely warn people: You human beings are all brutal invaders, should move back to your home. This ' our elephant's territory. I don't want to break your necks like those branches.
Very beautiful ❤️ clips presented by you. Thanks to you 💗. I am from India Lucknow Uttar Pradesh.

Hah, a slow gentle walk - RAMPAGING!!
LOL
Always knew Americans spoke a different form of English. Now we know what “rampage” means in American.
That was not a rampage, he was jest being a little temperamental, being a bull in musth, he could have destroyed that entire camp rather quickly.
What a majestic animal
He was just hanging out
Amazing footage!
He’s in musth. Those dark streams on the sides of his face, are scent. You’re lucky he was calm. They can often kill indiscriminately during mating season.
He didn’t wanna kill anything. He wanted so good grub.
Think he made his point as to who's in charge.
I think you guys were starting to get t him, he was chilled, maybe heard you saying he was rampaging and thought oh well may as well then😆 iam surprised you got so close , when in musth they are very very unpredictable and even more dangerous , tbf you should have stayed out of sight and quiet , your very lucky he was so calm
Elephant tears tree down....”Why did he do that?” Uh, because he can!
Not what I would call a "rampage." He's hungry.
You ever stand that close to an elephant tearing down trees? 😂😂
All I can do when I see that GORGEOUS Elephant that JESUS Made, is to PRAISE HIM!!! xoxoxo
JESUS made the elephant? Hmm..
🙏🏻
That’s so cool .you guys are so lucky . He’s so big lol.You think he would of walked around the other side of the car hehehe . God he’s big . That’s a great set they have done with those hut things love the veranda wow the tree. God you guys did well to these those lions .how v
Cool .another tree 😳 great video it didn’t go long enough lthats happened with the elephant ? 👍😂thank you for sharing .🤗
You’re welcome 🙏🏻🙏🏻
these guys didnt realize the elephant was in musth.. they are lucky it didn't charge at them...
