I know this is really old, but the hand actually made it to Kings Landing intact and twitching, I believe it was rotten by the time Tyrion saw it, because Tyrion (as acting hand) delayed meeting ser Allister because he didn't like him.
Actually, it rotted because the Hand (Tyrion) deliberately kept Sir Alister waiting in the worst room in the Red Keep for a very long time (weeks/months?) before seeing him. Sir Alister says it was intact on his arrival but the lenghty wait in the summer heat destroyed it.
@@arthurballs9632 THIS. This is the kind of good writing GOT used to have. If the dragonpit meeting resulted in Cersei offering the North spades so if the dead are buried they won't come back, that would have been worth it for a nice callback to the books! 😂
Dany burning the Tarlys is referenced almost as much as her emotionless reaction to her brother’s death by people attempting to justify her S8 heal turn. There are several problems: - The Tarlys betrayed her and Olenna, costing them the Reach. - Dany’s actions, while ruthless, are still within the bounds of most GOT characters (a reminder that Jon killed Janos Slynt for not listening to him, and later killed those who conspired against him, including a child). -Dany didn’t want to kill the Tarlys- you see the hesitation when Tyrion proposes the watch. -The whole plot is contrived in the first place- the decisions Randyll Tarly made to betray the Tyrells and support a queen whose claim to the throne is tenuous at best is completely uncharacteristic.
Burning people alive in the land where your daddy used to burn people alive ain't the best PR strategy. It's a show of things to come (insert GTA meme) for people of Westeros. And yes, it is stupid, forced and not planned way in advance. Meanwhile Slynt was beheaded, heck, even Joffrey just beheaded Ned although he could go ham.
Nope she said she wants to break the wheel so how burning people because they don't support you is gonna acheive that to me she was a tyrant since the day she crucified those people without even a trial and allowed the torture of two young girls. The entire story of dany in the books is her conflict between being the opposite of her father a merceful queen or embracing her dragon side(of course none of this was showen in got)by the end of the last book she finaly makes her choice "fire and blood and dragons plant no trees" i had no doubt she will turn dark in the show and i have no doubt the same will happen in the books she might wake up by the end but the damage will be done.and yes we all agree that in the show it was poorly executed and rushed af but it wasn't surprising at all if you have been paying attention
@@DWPL89 What was she supposed to do with the dragons, have them there for show? If it wasn't a good PR strategy for her to kill people, then boy do I have news about war for you. Aegon the Conqueror burned all the men who didn't bend the knee to him and he still was a good king afterwards because executing men is a part of war in Westeros, dragonfire or not. Stannis executed Mance, Jon executed Janos Slynt, hell even Robb executed Rickard Karstark for disobeying his orders. If Dany was going to just let go of the men who conspired against her and killed her ally (on Cersei's orders might I mention), then that would've been plain stupid. Targaryens executed people with their dragons in war, and so did tons of other people. I don't know what you expected there. Imprisoning them or killing them was pretty much her only option.
RED I never said this was the right decision or even a good decision. My point was just that this isn’t development to losing her mind later on. Bad decisions don’t imply madness.
Why does NOBODY wear a helmet except Grey Worm. Why do D&D hate Jacob Anderson's face so much. Also it was such a missed opportunity not having Rhaegal menace Jon and then get a pat on the snoot. One thing you missed: At the end of episode 4, Tyrion is in agony watching Jamie sink into the lake. Then, at the beginning of episode 5 he kinda forgot about his brother.

What I find fucking hilarious is the fastest man in Westeros, the last surviving bastard of Robert Baratheon, who crushed the Targaryen dynasty, just walks past Daenerys on Dragonstone without batting a fucking eyelid.
The problem was that his Character was merge with Edric Storm during Season 3 when Melisandre took Gendry, because the actor wanted a bigger role or something. The only one who knows he’s a bastard is Varys and it wouldn’t even make a difference because Robert never knew him, making him un-legitimate.

When you analyze these episodes you realize how little the writers cared about the story and characters. Also how little they actually knew. They had clearly given up by this point.
They’re literally descended from an actual fertility god, and yet the entire house consisted of two teenagers, an old man and his mum who wasn’t even a Tyrell by birth. And that one extra cousin who embroidered the flower Olenna didn’t like
Davos is clearly trying to deal with his codependancy on kings with a new addiction: adopting bastards and orphans (Jon, Gendry, ersatz Shireen in season 8). It's not healthy.
8:58 Randall Tarly betrayed 'Queen of Thorns' in exchange to be given High garden. So, Danaerys should have killed him for this betrayal alone. Seriously....Daenerys burning the Tarlys is not the same as The Mad King burning Ned’s father & brother. The Tarlys betrayed the Tyrells and went to war against Daenerys and lost. Tywin massacred an entire family, including children for rising up against Lannister rule but he isn’t demonized. In season 1 Ned Stark chopped off a frightened teenager’s head because Ned didn’t believe in the white walkers and no one demonized Ned for that. So stop with the “Daenerys is so bad & unstable.” Just because she used a Dragon & not a big sword.
I bet you even if she didn't use Drogon, some would have antagonized her for not beheading them herself. All because Ned said that one quote back in season 1 "The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword" and now everybody thinks that applies to everyone even Daenerys who doesn't know how to wield a sword or is probably not strong enough for an executioner's sword.
Dr. Manhattan Exactly! Why is everyone allowed to wage war but Daenerys??? And I’m not even a Daenerys fan, her chapters in the books were extremely frustrating to me. But this show got so bad that it made me defend her.
@@dr.manhattan3585 completely agree, also amazing people think that about this scene and yet when sansa has arya execute littlefinger instead of doing it herself.......that's just fine ???
Idk. Dany seems to have her own hate group for some reason. Whenever she kills her enemies one way or another, she’s decreed an unstable maniac but when the Lannisters or Starks do it, their actions are apparently reasonable

How hard is for the writers to throw in a couple lines about needing to conserve every able bodied man and woman to fight off the Walkers? Jesus Christ.
When Euron sailed into the black water they could have trapped his fleet in the bay and burned his ships. In the books I think Euron has a vision of bloody water boiling and a Kraken, they could have thru that in there as a reference to the books. The dragon fire boiling the water filled with the blood of his dead soldiers.
What bothers me is the fact that I remember how hyped I was to watch Season 7 and 8 episodes. I would stop what I was doing, turn my phone off and just focus on the show. How young and naive I was. AND Then talk about it the next day with my friends and coworkers as we made horribly more entertaining theories.
Wow, a lot of effort has gone into this video. First one I’ve seen, I’m sure the others are like it. Just slapping all the different clips together (including some of the BTS ones) must take awhile just to find, let alone put together in some form of coherence. Then not to mention the actual analysis and “comedy” edits (for a lack of a better term). I respect the hard work my dude
Season 7! Ah, the nostalgia! As for the Ran Man ... yes, burning is nasty; but Dany's burning Tarly no more "foreshadows" burning KL than Jon's beheading Ollie foreshadows his doing a chainsaw massacre at a kindergarten.
I know this is a four year old video and all but Im fairly certain the reason why Gilly is reading out loud is because she is learning after all. For some people it's much easier to read when doing it out loud. Besides, it would allow for Sam to correct any pronunciation of said words too.

8:58 it was war, and Randyll refused to go to the wall saying she didnt have the authority to send him there, or to bend the knee to her. other characters did similar things, like Stannis burning Mance, Jon Snow beheading Janos Slynt for not taking his orders. Aerys burnt Brandon and Rickard when they were sicking answers and justice for the abduction of Lyanna by his son Rhaegar at court and they were not burnt in the acts of war. they were offered safe passage and safety under the king's roof and yet they were killed. danny had to kill Tarly or her conquest would fail. aegon did similar things to the kings of the 7 kingdoms when he landed in westeros and no one calls his achievements an act of madness
Even though it's not mentioned ANYWHERE, I think what happened to the rest of the Brotherhood without Banners is that Beric and Thoros told them to join the Night's Watch or something so they did. Offscreen.
I'm still wondering where the heck is Stannis's fleet. What did it even do after Hardhome? Who's commanding it? Did Euron smashed it somewhere off-screen? Did it teleport too far to get back in time for the later seasons? Did it go west of Westeros?
They spent the entire last two seasons talking about how they "don't have time" and forcing the story forward instead of just having the characters and dialogue move the story forward. It's like the writers realised they had 16 episodes to fill a book and a half so they kept hitting skip on the remote when all they had to do was hit fast forward and it would've been a thousand times better. Maybe not good... But fuck me even I could do better than that and I'm just a rotten little man in a rotten little cave.
"Burning a father and son for standing up for themselves and what they believe to be true sounds like a pretty Aeyrs-y thing to do." Didn't Brandon roll up to the Red Keep demanding Aerys send Rhaegar out so he could, y'know, kill him for kidnapping his sister? Not defending Aerys, but Brandon _did_ kind of loudly announce he intended to kill the crown prince, if memory serves. And isn't "standing up for themselves and what they believe to be true" pretty much why everyone gets executed? Robb executed Rickard Karstark for standing up for what he believed was true (that his sons deserved justice), but I guess that's okay? Show!Jon hung a child for standing up for himself, but that's perfectly fine because we as the audience aren't supposed to like that child, who is basically the sole survivor of a horrific genocide. Is it the execution method that makes it worse? Because slow-roasting someone over an open fire while hanging their son _really_ isn't the same thing as instantly immolating someone in flames hot enough to melt steel.
I can't believe Davos made the "Gendry is still rowing joke". I just completely forget about that. They actually reference the number one most shared joke about Gendry during his reintroduction scene. "Haha lol that's just what I was thinking, how do they come up with this stuff???". Unreal.

It's a war of conquests and everyone has a Bend the knee or Die policy. Robert did Aegon did if you are a monarch trying to establish dominance you have them bend the knee or Die
Robert didn't. He made opposing nobles his prisoners and because of his charisma they became friends. Aegon knew when to kill and when to spare. The Tarly's are not trustworthy in the show but Daenarys had other options. Taking hostages, send them to the watch, stripping them of their lands and give them to a more loyal house. Maybe only executing Randyll and make Dickon a minor lord under, for example a more powerful loyalist house. The power inbalance by killing of the Tarly's is also stupid because they were one of the most powerful March lords who kept the border between Dorne and the Reach in check. Destroying the stability there will probably lead to future civil wars.

A completely understandable action from one of the main characters (Tyrion making nasty ser Allister wait uncomfortably), something we may even feel empathetic to, turns out to be a bad thing that makes the plot move in a different way.
There are several problems:
- The Tarlys betrayed her and Olenna, costing them the Reach.
The entire story of dany in the books is her conflict between being the opposite of her father a merceful queen or embracing her dragon side(of course none of this was showen in got)by the end of the last book she finaly makes her choice "fire and blood and dragons plant no trees" i had no doubt she will turn dark in the show and i have no doubt the same will happen in the books she might wake up by the end but the damage will be done.and yes we all agree that in the show it was poorly executed and rushed af but it wasn't surprising at all if you have been paying attention
mer kikima So since the crucifying was foreshadowing why didn’t Jon go evil when he executed that child?
They're supposed to get tight in Season 8 but we get no ground work for this. Jon just climbs on his back and thats it. Its like hes taking his friends firebird for a spin around the block.

Your single Davos storyline is better than season 5,6,7,&8 combined, and makes far more sense.

In hindsight Eurons teleporting navy is an issue but they didn't know that yet.
The wall, which was built to hold out the white walkers...was never once even thought of as a defensive position.

"Burning a father and son for standing up for themselves and what they believe to be true sounds like a pretty Aeyrs-y thing to do."
Didn't Brandon roll up to the Red Keep demanding Aerys send Rhaegar out so he could, y'know, kill him for kidnapping his sister?
