I'll have to admit that Airplane wasn't my vibe, but I am glad it exists and the album as a whole is for sure one of their better works. I would put it at my 3rd favorite EP behind Alone in the City and Road to Utopia. They definitely are the masters of contrast, that's for sure. Alldaylong was JiU's song this time around, btw. She finally got to live out her citypop dreams.
I love MINX too, MINX era was amazing, they had really good and catchy songs and the girls were amazing vocally and had an excellent stage presence since their debut. I think it was traumatic for them because they were sexualised quite a bit and redebuting must have been hard on them. But their songs were really good, and it is nice to see them have a lighter concept and have fun with it. BEcause really have this fun and playful vibe mix with creepiness, Leez and Ollounder definitely are genuises.
Although the songs on this album are different than what we're used to hearing from them, it's cool how they still managed to stick to their brand for all the songs! Like the guitar and the drums were a vibe!
L & O experiment a lot and keep the heart of the group in every song. Just like BEcause isn't anything we've heard from DC in the past from a title track but the rock element is still there even though it was a more poppy song.

They did post a showcase performance of BEcause on their channel, the choreo is really fun for this one! InSomnia are collectively waiting patiently for the Esquire video to drop. This is my favorite album so far also. Gahyeon's vocals have come so far and Jiu's vocals were shining in this album. Glad to hear more of vocal Dami and more of Handong. 5 completely different genres that are great to listen to. Whistle and BEcause are my favorites in this album.
AllDayLong was born of JiU's wish to try a city pop track (she participated in the lyrics and composition), that's why it has such a nostalgic vibe! I absolutely love it 💖 Also, Whistle and Can't get you out of my mind sit at the same table at lunch and it's the "we were made to play at gay clubs" table 😂
I think the fact that they did a song like airplane shows that they're mentally strong, more than just doing a cute song, i think is like going up against the past and their traumas showing that even tho it was something that really hit them badly, they are still strong and have the courage to do something like this. Also, i'm sure all of them agreed with doing this song, because we know how much their decisions matter in the group and the management of it, so i'm happy they did a song like this even tho is not my vibe :)
This album gives you A LOT OF GOOD VIBES. I love all the songs. It is really REFRESHING. BECAUSE gives you the Dreamcatcher signature sound which we all love. AIRPLANE is a summer bop. proves that DC can also nailed that bright summer concept. Honestly it reminds me of Red Velvet which is also my fave GG. WHISTLE just blow me away. It is stuck in my head for days now. I unconsciously whistling the whistle part of the song. ALL DAY LONG really gives you a nostalgic feeling like the songs in the cassette tape era and it is very relaxing. Lastly, A HEART OF A SUNFLOWER, well we all know DC ballads are perfect. You can feel the emotion in their delivery and music.
Refreshing yes. It's like they're on long distance drive and then saw the magnificent ocean view, decided to have a picnic and wrote some song there. If you haven't watch it, rapping Jiu is now available in their Switch to Me cover. In fact it'd seems like a good fit as Summer Holiday b-side.
A Heart of Sunflower reminds me a lot of the part of the pointless debate episode of Dreamcatcher Mind where they talk about ghosting vs. breaking up by starting a new relationship. 😂 Summer Holiday is such a well put together album and is my 2nd favorite album, after Alone In The City. Whistle is my favorite song on the album and I think it's because it captures the best parts of the members of Dreamcatcher. I love their dark/horror concepts but the ladies themselves are the exact opposite and it's good to have another good vibes album(Dystopia: Road to Utopia was not given the flowers it deserves!). Over the past few months there have been a lot of great covers from Dreamcatcher. JiU & SuA did a cover of Switch To Me and JiU raps in it. So when you said "One day..." for JiU rapping I died laughing. Siyeon(되돌리다), Handong(下雨天), and Dami(Butterfly) all have solo songs/covers and Yoohyeon & Dami(Mood) have a duet cover. I figured you may have watched Dreamcatcher Mind on your own but if you haven't do it because the memes are legendary.
Whistle is my favorite song from this album and Sua is my absolute bias, you should react to the showcase version of A heart of sunflower, it was beautiful
I love Whistle. My fav b-track. I also jam/vib with Alldaylong and A Heart of A Sunflower. Airplane is probably the one I listen to the least because that style is not my taste most the time. But, I probably won’t skip Airplane whenever it comes across my shuffle if I am in that mood. I just don’t think I will find myself purposely selecting Airplane as the first song I listen to like I do with a number of their other b-sides and titles. The album as a whole is a good album though. I love how much love Dami and Handong get with lines in the b-sides. Siyeon helped with Beacuse, Airplane and A Heart of Sunflower chorus. Yoohyeon helped with Whistle and Alldaylong chorus. JiU helped with the general lyrics and composing of Alldaylong. Their channel has a picture form when they released the track list that has the chorus credits listed along with lyrics and such. You can have 2 biases ;) I can’t choose between Dami and Siyeon, hence why they share the bias spot.

17:18 city pop usually gives listeners that vibe, I don't know why, maybe the reason is the genre was created in 70-80s, it's really funny that young listeners often get nostalgia of era which is much older than them.

This is one of the better EPs for me. I really appreciate the fact that they went a lot different with the bsides this time, even for dreamcatcher standards, heart of sunflower might be my new favourite dreamcatcher ballad but I also don't generally like ballads. Also I actually added whistle to my running playlist today, it's a great track for that. As far as any dreamcatcher content you might have missed, I think you might have missed a couple of special clips, Jiu and Sua's cover of "switch to me" (orig. JYP and Rain) was fun. When I listened to the album preview I thought that Whistle was going to be my favourite song for sure but I for now at least, it's actually AllDayLong. I also thought I was going to hate Airplane, but then I didn't :/ This is why I never trust the highlight medley!

Gahyeon's voice fits the bright vibe so well. I've said it before, if Gahyeon was added during Minx era, we may never have seen the rework. Which obviously would have been to the detriment of their unique style, so would have been awful, but it is a shame that she missed the chance to be a part of it.

19:00 "A Heart of Sunflower" has the same vibe as "(I Just) Like You" by Minx and could be a sequel to that song.

I don't know if It's my favourite album but I liked all the songs a lot. Expressing love in different ways and genres. I guess that's what I love about DC, never afraid of doing something that It's not their usual sound. And whistle is a BOP.

Gahyeon's voice fits the bright vibe so well. I've said it before, if Gahyeon was added during Minx era, we may never have seen the rework. Which obviously would have been to the detriment of their unique style, so would have been awful, but it is a shame that she missed the chance to be a part of it.

I feel like this mini-album is the most different from any of their previous releases and I love it. I'll always love the harder sound from them, but hearing them prove how diverse their sound can be on one mini-album is impressive.

I'm probably a bit biased, but they just kill EVERYTHING THEY DO... and major kudos to their production team.
Personally, for me these bside tracks are like a healing for my ear.. after listening to some intense kpop songs, songs like alldaylong and airplane are SO REFRESHING..
I like "Love Shake" by Minx. I don't like "Why did you come to my house" because there was not much of their charm focused except "sexiness." I think Airplane is a kind of tribute song for Minx days by DC. I do hope they remake the "Love Shake" DC version someday.
Hey Austin! This time, the Esquire Korea video was a dance performance, it kinda sounded live but I'm not really sure it was. Instead, you could check the "it's LIVE" performance, it's with a live band and I'm pretty sure it's live vocals too. I hope you can check that one!

The more I listen to this album the more I love it. Not a bad track on it (when is there ever a bad DC song?). BEcause probably in my Top5 DC tracks now.
