The irony of me, a man who has not yet gone to an Orthodox Church and yet is completely sold on the orthodox faith as it is the only church that can trace its roots to the apostles and through them to Our Lord Jesus Christ, watching this video on my phone instead of reading my bible or praying is not lost on me
Do not worry, just find an Orthodox Church and talk to a priest! I am sure he would be glad to attend to you and allow you to see the services for yourself.

Jokes on technology. I got a little app for the canonical hours to which i always add a variant of the rosary(and i want to learn the orthodox prayer rope aswell for more variation in prayer), ramping my prayer time up to almost 4 hours on good free days.

I am RC but I love St. Seraphim. I discovered him because he had a bear and I love bears, and I just read more about him from there, including about how his body got lost for decades and then found, and how he flew in space. I had a snarky RC tell me that St. Seraphim didn't like the Catholic Church and thus wouldn't like me back, but I am quite sure that St. Seraphim in Heaven is beyond all that now if he wasn't already beyond it on earth. Plus St. Pope JPII said he was a saint. Looking forward to your video on him.

@@jonathanh5762 Pope JPII called him a saint. That is not the same as a formal Church canonization. If it had been, we'd have St. Seraphim of Sarov Catholic Churches and the like. We don't. As I said, the Catholics do not canonize non-Catholics.
@Anakin Skywalker Not sure what point you're trying to make. Nowhere have I said that Catholics don't VENERATE some non-Catholics (including some post-schism EO saints), I do that myself. I said that Catholics don't CANONIZE non-Catholics. There are various ways Rome recognizes a non-Catholic person as holy or praiseworthy, that aren't the same as canonization.
I love St. Seraphim of Sarov. He seems to be very active on earth and has encouraged me on two separate occasions. Thank you for sharing.

And as a Catholic since I didn't understand the foreign language names of some of those prayers what are they? the Our Father and possibly the Apostle or Nicene creed? And what else?
Hi Ian- I am an Eastern Catholic- our prayers are very similar to the Orthodox. He is recommending the Our Father, the Nicene Creed and a prayer to the Theotokos, there are different ones. A Catholic equivalent would be a Hail Mary, the Memorae, the Magnificat, Salve Regina. The idea is to say a Prayer to our Lord, Our Father, the Holy Spirit, our Guardian Angel and our Blessed Mother. If you are in the market for a good prayer book check out the Publicans Prayer book on Melkite.org. It’s a the best prayer book I’ve come across between Catholic and Orthodox.

I feel that sometimes, too. Sometimes I wish we were back in the 1200s with St. Thomas Aquinas, no schism, no modern medicine, no Protestantism... I could go on but I won't.
However, God has permitted all this to happen. He expects us to do something with the circumstances we have here and now. He could make pagan Rome and Armenia and even Rus' holy. Our society is not so lost as we think. Christian virtue is roaming around wild and undirected in our society. Let's direct technology and the new social order to the will of God.

Why ask the Theotokos to save us if she needed to be saved herself? also I thought only Jesus could save people?
It's isn't used in the same context as Jesus. For God, we generally used 'have mercy on us'.
