Thanks for this! To me, both cameras did decently with autofocus. I bought the XT4 this summer and am loving it. I do mostly photography but plan on developing my video skills. All the moaning on RUclips about Fuji's autofocus system gets me down. Camera Conspiracies Kasey just sold his XT4 because of what he feels is horrible AF. I am not a vlogger, so will be behind the camera and hope I can minimize the hunting. Still hope Fuji's famed firmware updates kick in for the XT4.
Hey bro! I’m so glad you commented on this! I’m a big fan of Conspiracies Kasey! And I saw that video and thought the same but I’m telling you right now bro the XT4 is good ppl just don’t take time to learn around it if your behind the camera you will be more than fine I used it for interviews, weddings (review on that soon) events, XV and projects and it’s great but anyways maybe I’ll make a video on that soon too! I love the XT4 and I don’t think Fujifilm will fix it in a update but it’s fine, enjoy your XT4 if your happy that’s all that matters!
nice to see this comparison again . personally want to pick up the H1 for the IBIS is just all I need to shoot video with primes and keep things on a budget.
I was going to get that one too but I saw two recent reviews and they said when using the battery grip it turns off once a battery dies and for video that was no go for me lol
Once you switch on your XT2 , I immediately notice the difference colors and grains of the images. Now I’m beginning to understand what other photographers said about the XT2 sensor that produce a very unique images.
@@Iamquiroga it’s really gave off that nostalgic film vibes! I am on a fence of 3rd budget camera body . I’ve got XT3 and XH1 , though XH1 have similar processor with XT2 , it’s still quite different.
Considering what you can get an XT2 for these days, I'm seriously considering it - and even the XT1. I just do photography for myself, and with the savings maybe get a nice lens to go with it, like the 35 f/1.4 I've been hearing so much about...
Loving the xt2 and this autofocus test has convinced me as I mainly do video I did have. A7iii and a6300 but wanted to save some dollar , but this seems just as good in my opinion
@@Iamquiroga thanks my man loved the video all I worried about was the af as the a6300 is amazing for af and to be fair this just as good if not better in my experience, so yeah great job on the video my guy 🔥
A firmware update is needed to really get it up to speed with other manufacturers. That is the only gripe I hear about when it comes to Fuji about the sometimes unusable AF. For the most part if you're facing the camera, it's face/eye detection is fine. It's when you start to introduce many different moving objects OR just a scene with no face, the camera will just go hunting out of nowhere. Overall not really a problem if you're just doing casual work or vlogs cause you can just re-shoot. For professional shots (like a wedding) where you only have 1 take, it can get dicey I'd say.
I just shot a wedding and I agree it gets dicey but it went well overall and I love the outcome of the XT4 and yeah simple situations are great but more crowds areas it gets tuff but overall Love the XT4
It did great! I’ll upload the review about it soon! But one thing I did notice was it was more contrasty (colorful) then the xt4 so my footage was a bit off but of course fixed in post but I don’t think ppl would really notice it.
@@Iamquiroga I’m so in between! The XT-3 is a better b camera for video, but I only plan on using it for talking head videos for when I talk about my Fuji XT-3 and maybe some filmmaking, but then it would be manual focus for that. First world problems haha
@@AlexCruzHaha haha I get bro honestly get the XT3 you don’t need a battery grip for the 29:59 record limit and XT2 need the battery grip but if your good with that XT2 is Gucci!
I can't decide on a fuji xt4 or a Sony a7iii...the only thing I am worried about is the autofocus of the fuji....I also like the full frame on the Sony so its better shooting in low light...but a lot of people say the fuji is better in almost every other way other than autofocus and low light photos....the Conflict!!!!
I’ve used both! For Pictures XT4 easy the AF works great and great colors and for low light get a fast lens and your set! Video For AF, Lowlight and Plus full frame Sony wins but Fujifilm wins in every other subject and the AF is not that bad honestly it’s definitely capable just not at Sony level but it’s works good! I prefer the XT4 it’s newer and better workflow for me my opinion tho
Hey awesome video! I’m thinking of the XT-2 as a B camera for my XT-4 but realizing that the 2 needs a battery grip to record 30 minutes videos makes it a really big hassle and balances out to the price of an XT3 almost… What do you think? Should I go XT-3 or something else as a B camera?
The quality of the XT-2 is great And the AF speed is good! But the battery grip part is a bit of a bummer, but if you plan to have them on tripods XT2 is great. Me personally think it’s fine but I’m gonna get the XT3 because the colors look exactly the same to the XT4. While the XT2 looks great it does have a different look to it idk if it’s the color or something but it’s a bit different but again quality is great.
@@Iamquiroga Thank you for the quick reply, I didn't see it until now. I think I agree with you, the XT-3 might just be a little better suited as a B camera because of the same sensor and AF tech!
Hey do you mind to give me an opinion between XS-10 and Sony ZV-E10, since i am just a hobbyist photographer, trying to make portfolios for Product photography, while also planning to make youtube content (mostly cafe's and restaurant vlog)
Never used either but if AF is your main thing get the Sony but I personally think the XS-10 would be more than capable and either camera would be great really up to your preference for colors and image quality is more important so I’ll get the Fujifilm
Interesting results! I’m not happy with my XT4 and it’s auto focus. I do a lot of street photography and some of it gets pretty chaotic. I just can’t seem to find the right settings to get things in focus. And I also use zone focus. I’ve tried all the different custom settings, and just when you think you’ve got it fixed, and real life it doesn’t work. Anyway I think they need to do a major update to this camera, as the auto focus results looks even worse than the XT2.
Dang, I love my XT4 for my needs but I understand what your saying it goes crazy sometimes. But I agree zone is the best setting and Fujifilm needs a big update! 🤞
