Handel spelled his name in the English fashion as you can see on every single extant signature on his manuscripts, letters and his will, and the case is exactly the same as the ‘French’ composer Lully who abandoned Lulli and all his Italian background after he moved to Paris. Its odd how some people seem to still use the German form of Handel, but never the Italian form of Lully.
