I just read about Melchizadek's first appearance in Genesis and was wanting to know more about him. Thanks, Pastor, and thank you, Lord, for bringing me this teaching.❤🙏
Shem become like Melchisedec is same as Luke 22:44 44 And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (ESV) The phrase "become like" serves as an illustration, resembling a particular concept or idea.
Absolutely! I actually think that to argue it was a human, is a symptom of a holdover of the strongholds of unbelief and pride. And anecdotally, I’ve seen people who say that it was a man fall into other sin that makes them unfit/apostasy down the line. Melchizedek is an order of ONE, Christ Jesus!
Then the LORD said to Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s household, and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3. "Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine-since he was priest of God Most High- and he blessed Abram and said: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything." Genesis 14:18-20. "This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham apportioned to him a tenth of everything. First, his name means “king of righteousness.” Then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace." Hebrews 7:1-2. "But Melchizedek, who did not trace his descent from Levi, collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. And indisputably, the lesser is blessed by the greater." Hebrews 7:6-7. "What I mean is this: The law that came 430 years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to nullify the promise. For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God freely granted it to Abraham through a promise." Galatians 3:17-18. "For the promise that Abraham would be heir of the world was not made to him and his descendants through the Law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith." Romans 5:13. "So also Christ did not take upon Himself the glory of becoming a high priest, but He was called by the One who said to Him: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.” And in another passage God says: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 5:5-6. "Now if perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on this basis the people received the law), why was there still need for another priest to appear--one in the order of Melchizedek and not in the order of Aaron?" Hebrews 7:11. "Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may rest on grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all." Romans 4:16. "For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's see and heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:27-30.
Because Melchizedek is the host of the feast of all the Kings of Jerusalem of all the ages of Creation. Quite a party yet the paperwork of Testaments and Court Orders is found in the Books of Judges... As the Most Legal King of Jerusalem since Christ and in some ways more Legal my name Crown Prince is Emmanuel Maccabees of the House of David called Jesus Christ High King of Palestine and also called Jesus Christ of Nazareth
I think he could have been Shem one of the eight believers who stepped off of the ark. Shem would have been a king -priest. Jesus Christ was also a king-priest after the order of Melchizidek. His priesthood did not depend on having a certain mother or father as the Levitical priesthood must have.
thank God for you dr.John

There is only ONE person without genealogy. This must surely be Christ appearing throughout history. Also Abraham gave a 10th to Him. This is Christ!
