I can't believe it. My family routinely bought from Montgomery Wards, Sears and JC Penney catalogues while I was growing up in the 50's, 60's, 70's and even into the late 1990's when catalogue shopping was discontinued. I remember my mother using the shoe sizing guide provided in the catalogues and that is where my school shoes came from (my mother made my dresses, so few dresses were bought; boys clothes were another matter, though...). Thank you for this wonderful memory trip.
A time when women dressed elegantly and little girls wore dresses. I remember those days. Unfortunately now many wear sweats or pajama bottoms to run errands or shop or dine out ,etc. what happened?
We can say the same thing about how men dress nowadays. Little girls still love dresses but they were not and are not very practical for today's activities.
When I moved to Bulgaria in 2009 everyone dressed beautifully, especially the woman. Wonderful full length flowing dresses were in fashion. It slowly declined over the next 10 year until covid lockdown when it ended. Thankfully this summer has seen a slight return to pretty dresses for women and girls, the men have not gotten the memo yet...
2:48 Nice catalog, but I get itchy skin just looking at the bedding😃
Many of these items are still around and being enjoyed in 2023. They were made with quality materials and pride.
