I think Steiner is a character you hate a lot as a kid. But when you realize the internal struggle that he face to do what’s right or honoring his oath as a knight, he’s just the best character to me
They are all good characters, difference is that as a kid, I don’t hate the characters you mentioned. I think Vivi and Steiner has the most character progression in the game
I actually hated Steiner as a kid LOL, I was like, how is this idiot so dumb to be blinded. Only to replay FF9 this year, I'm 25 now, and of course he has so much internal struggle and moral dilemmas. His whole devotion and life goal has been uprooted and shattered. When your world flips upside-down like that, it's easy to see the reason behind his actions

Once he saw the world it changed him and once he saw in person what queen Brahne was planning to do with Garnet, he became a changed man. Steiner is a great character because his internal conflict and personal experiences moulds him into a true hero who still holds true to his ideals of justice and honour but will not blindly go where orders take him.

I love that Amarant is only barely visible on the image. Dude's useful but honestly I like everyone else more than him. Beatrix should've been the eighth party member.
I don’t know what everybody is on about with Amarant, I have zero use for him at all. Freya and Steiner give me all I need for max damage output against Ozma already
@@lightningshy5287 You and OP just don't know how to properly utilize Amarant. Every party member in every FF game has a certain utility that makes them viable. Some more than other, sure, but I have completed FF10 with Khimari as one of my main party members, and also FF12 with both Basch and Fran as two of my main party members. They are all there for a reason. It is up to you to figure out why.

What made Amarant a big staple for me wasn't only damage, but utility in both being able to revive and restore MP. Him and Zidane's Sacrifice combo makes inns, tents and ethers obsolete on long journeys. And of course his trance goes in hard.
He just comes in too late and he's just like "whatever, I guess I'll join you." By that time I was already attached to one group and I was fine with it.
So they make a crap ACTION rpg ... like FF7 Remake? no thanks. I love final fantasy's for their story telling, graphics, Turn battle based combat and attention to details. Not for some frenzy action crap.

0:34 - The staccato string section in the back is missing, which added that really nice arpeggiation to the original and gave it so much more energy and I definitely feel it missing in this one. Otherwise, fucking fantastic cover man. The production is phenomenal.

He was great in combat which is why I used him but his character just sacked up until the last moment when he suddenly changed and it made no sense. Its a shame, they could have thrown something at him that changed him like the game did with the other characters but they didn't

Btw, I already suggested Grand Cross, but I also suggest you check out the Wild Arms series' music. :D Those games have some of my favorite RPG soundtracks, and remakes are so rare. A remake of Battle Vs. Lord Blazer from Wild Arms 2 would be grand!

A PERSONAL CRITIC- Pro. I really enjoyed that rattlesnake shit. Also the subtleties that were needed were there and it still kept the emotion and pace that the song was written for. I also felt that this piece would be great in more action rpgs like ffxv over the turn based. My reasoning is that a lot of the melody was subdued. This leaves all those voices and “hiyas” and sound effects to play through clearer. God knows we don’t need another star ocean: till the end of time. Cons: I wasn’t a fan of the nerfed melody. This song, IMO, would have been taken to the max if those instruments were brought out more. This makes it not a good candidate for a turn based rpg, I feel, because the music IS the driving force behind the battle, not necessarily the difficulty or anything. Overall I really enjoyed it and def keep up the good work.
