Dupont really took that final by the scruff of the neck and earned that gold medal. As a whole I’d say the Olympic tournament was a triumph, plenty of good matches and lots of drama to go with it, really proved it belongs in the Olympics this year.
Antoine Dupont remains soft because tomorrow he will participate in the horse riding dressage events, then in skateboarding on Monday. Tuesday travels to Tahiti for surfing and will return at the end of the week for synchronized swimming. The USA is starting to tremble.
Ecstatic ❤ legendary campaign from Antoine and thé boys, tactically brillant and the talent… precious times for France 🇫🇷 huge kudos to Fidji, man they were impressive 😮 huge accomplishment to beat this team, privilege !
Dupont was a fabolous impact player, the coach knew how to use him. Anyway, team France had some serious players like Grandidier, Sepho, Epée, Rebadj... To name a few. Congrats to South Africa for Bronze and Fiji for a third final.
Imagine that if, as always in the Rugby XV World Cups, your Anglo-Saxon mafia which runs and rules for the benefit of its teams (and so vs the non anglo-saxon teams and especially vs the "old French ennemy", 1066 and 1453 uh ^^) via its agents on the field that it calls "referees" had not influenced the final score of a certain France-South Africa semi-final in 2023 (for 1 point in the end despite it :-/ ), Antoine DUPOND could have WON EVERYTHING with his club and his national teams in less than 1 year!!! What a Rugby player and Champion we have here, we must realize this chance! And big respect to Fiji! First because in France we know and love this country and the behavior of the Fijians, friendly, not arrogant and always respectful of others. Then because I don't forget that they accepted our Bleus in one of their training camps last year from memory, them the best team in the world of these last 8 to 10 years, helping without a doubt the progress of The France team, which finally gave this Olympic title. And yes for goodness sake OLYMPIC CHAMPION and at home too, THE DREAM IS REAL!!!
It's not an "anglo-saxon" mafia as per say, it's more a southern hemisphere mafia. And yes, South Africa winning last world cup was an absolute disgrace. The triumph of cheating, lobbying and referee bribing.
Antoine Dupont is a generational talent. His sevens transition was like a duck landing to water. Honestly feel like he could easily nail the rugby league scene if he wanted.
Actually Semi radradra has done all three, IIRC he is the only player to ever play in the rugby league world cup (semi finalist in 2013 with Fiji), RWC 7s (semi finalist with Fiji in 2018, olympic gold 2021) and RWC 15s (quarter finalist 2023 with Fiji). Love to see Dupont in league, make a great 6 or 7 I reckon
Let's face it, Dupont is making a difference in pretty much all the games he played, the French team became completely different the moment the guy started playing. You can say it is the psychological factor, you can say that they could have won without him, but you be wrong. The guy is the best weapon in rugby 7s, and the player that makes the most difference since Serevi.
Anthony OfTheBridge is definitely the best player in the world, its not even an argument anymore. I really hope he manages to win a world Cup before he retires. Imagine the amount of young players he's inspiring now. He's rugby's Ronaldo, Messi, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady. Whatever analogy you want to use. He will be inspiring future superstars like himself
Dupont in 2024 : France Champion with Toulouse, Europe (+SA 😅) Champion with Toulouse, World Rugby Seven Series winner, Olympic gold with France, player of the year ?
Dupont was physical different than the standard seven player body : small size but large and low center of gravity, it's difficult for the tall sevent player to stop him without make penalty at his head or neck. And more after the physical body, his have a good brain : good screening calculator of the field situation, for understandign where going or what doing...
Did you notice France strategy differed from all other teams on the restart? Instead of doing a lift that Fiji constantly beat they tried a jump ball technique and it worked way better. Can't believe Ireland and Australia didn't try that
Dupont really coming through for France and living up to his hype and showing why he's so highly rated, virtually winning the game for France. I wanted Fiji to win, but well done to the hosts for a deserved victory
I can't get excited about 7s in the Olympics as long as it is the same format as all the other tournaments. I'd be down with larger pools and a double elimination tournament.
I said to the kiwi lads, du pont will score two tries. His response was that du ponts coming off the bench and doesn't thinkso. Guess what???? Anyway, Fiji are liked mostly coz they are a tiny island and feed off it. France blew them away.
Personally , when it comes to rugby, I do not pay attention to South Africa anymore. Cheating, lobbying and referee bribing is not interesting in the least.

Yeah man a great ad for the game generally and Dupont - just crazy

Congratulations France! Well earned and deserved gold medal, and what about Fiji third Olympics final in a row!
Yeah they put on an amazing show this Olympics aye

Coming up, Dupont announces he starts training for XII and NFL next year, out of sheer boredom. :D
Lol yeah what else can that man do eh?
@@TwoCentsRugby Pretty sure he drives the bus to the hotel and makes grub once home too, but that remains to be confirmed.
Could he try his hand at league? 😂
😂
I think about Beach Rugby, now... 🏝

Absolutely gutted our Kiwi men's team wasn't in the final but very happy to see the French take the gold at their own Olympics!
Me too! Sevens is amazing.
DuPont is always hungry for more. Man is wild.
Yeah crazy competitor aye - now an Olympic gold medalist...

What a cry baby. No wonder a lot of people detest French sides.

Delighted for Dupont🇫🇷🇫🇷
Legend Dupont
Great french team against a huge fidjian team. But my man Dupont was too good once again
Brilliantly well played France. Magnifique 🏴☠☘.
Cracking performance aye
Yes France 🇫🇷 🎉DuPont was on fire!!! 🔥
Pretty massive impact in both games from the bench aye
Antoine Dupont is a generational talent. His sevens transition was like a duck landing to water. Honestly feel like he could easily nail the rugby league scene if he wanted.
Yeah pretty sure he could do well at whatever he put his mind to aye

I'd like to see Messi defend half as well as Dupont does. Not happening.

Unbelievable isn't it, my kids aren't gonna believe me when I tell them stories about how good he was in 20 years time 😅

Antoine Dupont Next President of french republic in 2027!
I'd prefer him to be world champion at XV in 2027

very happy with the result as a Frenchman but still sad for Fiji who are still a great team
You deserved the win, a great final, and always good to see the host nation win.
No doubt Fiji will be back for the gold next Olympics.
Great Content!! More Sevens Rugby, please!!!😁😀

Congratulations France. Thank you Mark
That maul try was great!! 😂
Merci 👍
What next for Dupont? NBA
XIII
Do you know AD is a very good swimmer and he can run 100m too?
If he did high jump it would honestly not really be a surprise aye 😅
Dupont singlehandedly won it for France on home soil, but commiserations Fiji for having the longest winning streak throughout the 7s Olympics.
I keep refreshing waiting for the ABs squad announcement reaction!
It's up now!
This signals the start of NH dominance
False start last year?
Viva la France is back

Wee bit closer. Are you from Dunedin?
Lol nah Aucklanders say it a wee bit as well
A win for Northern hemisphere in rugby. What a surprise

Dupont man yeah crazy impact
cringe
I think NZ need to start taking 7s more seriously and start selecting 15s players then they would dominate
I watched that gold medal game live on NBC. It was flashy but I'm not really into 7s.
Springboks have the bomb squad
France 7s have the bomb guy
Lol yeah that's pretty true
The Irish must be pissed. South Africa is on the podium.
Ireland weren't expected to medal in the sevens. I think NZ and Argentina not medaling is a suprise.
Personally , when it comes to rugby, I do not pay attention to South Africa anymore.

I can live with France winning. At least it wasn't SA or Australia
C'est un scandale, l'équipe de France était dopée !!! Ça devrait être interdit de jouer avec Dupont dans l'équipe !!!! 😁😁😁
Dupont is just the shit cam roigard
Heh heh
The Blitzboks winning as few matches as possible to get a medal, with their 50% win rate😂🇿🇦
Unfortunately the referees were honest and they lost. Surprising isn't it?
Yeah that must have been a major shock to them 😂
The same can be said for France as they had a bad pool stage: 1 win against Uruguay, 1 draw facing USA and losing to Fiji
Now that world rugby got their way and France won, let's enjoy how they crumble back into mediocrity next season
Oh this salt, I love this salt.🤣🤣
Jalous
Jaloux et idiot
France paid lots of money for their refs😂 bad rugby nations how wcs 0 i hope this makes them feel better cuz lost rwc lost soccer wc
