Keith, yesterday i passed my ccna 200-301 because of you, i recently watched your kahoot static routing video and cant’t believe same type of ipv6 questions came in exam, i loved your master playlist and keep uploading great stuff 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video and thank you for all the videos over the years! Always tell my co-workers, Keith wouldn't do that configuration and walk it through. Virtualization is the key for scaling labs. Thank you for sharing the back end equipment. We are always searching for the best tools for the toolbox and you help us so much. Thanks again Keith.
*Hey Keith, do think that this pandemic will create more jobs for network engg & also for cloud engg ? Since , now "internet" is more impt than ever in the history. Love to hear your thoughts on this.*
Thank you for the question Karan, and yes! There will be a greater need for most IT in general, as more people and businesses are relying on it from everywhere (homes, on the road, etc)
Hey Keith, Does the server use up lots of energy? How about the ccna home labs do you always have them running or do you only turn on when you lab? Thank you so much for all you do! Blessings.
Thank you for the question Juan. I do NOT leave them on, when I am not using them. The live gear uses the most power, but even when I am using a virtual lab, I will gracefully power it all down, and turn off the server when not in use.
Hi Keith, hope your well, during these interesting times. Question: SecureCRT, how have you got the text to display the colours, when you did ' show ip int bri'
It is the keyword highlighting feature of SecureCRT. Check out the vandykesoftware RUclips page for a tutorial on how to set it up. Or the direct link is here ruclips.net/video/PKhwnxR9weE/видео.html.
Great Thanks Keith, did you use the R630 for the vmware 6.5 in your training? just curious how did you manage to get 6 Ethernet ports on that server? did you added extra dual Nic ?
Thank you for the question Sunny LM. In the 6.5 training, the ESXi hosts were virtualized, so adding more physical ports, was done with virtualization. New VMware training is in the works now.
Thanks @@KeithBarker , so just to clarify to add extra virtual Nic is simple but to make all vlans working would't you need the physical Nic to connect the physical switch and router? or did you connect to the GNS3 virtual switch and router? can you please elaborate ? as im trying to follow your lab in the 6.5 and i have 3 physical servers with quad nics each.
@Keith, I think I got now since you don’t use vlan then there is no switch required, and you can add as many virtual adapters as many as you wanted right ?
Thank you for the question Sreejith. Classful routing follows the strict mask lengths for class A, B, and C networks ( /8 , /16 , /24) Classless routing, couldn't care less (classless/care less) about those default masks, and support any length of mask on any class of address, including variable length subnet masks (VLSMs) Hope that helps, and happy studies.
This was some one all brief video for virtualization. Thanks for making us easier. This just came in my mind as I was thinking about the entire video, is it possible to run a type 2 hypervisor in a type 1 hypervisor for whatever reason?
Thank you for the question Rackara. I have used VMware Workstation (type 2) to host a vSphere environment (which includes ESXi hosts (type-1) for the purpose of labs and practice. It starts to be a little slow, once the virtualization is virtualized as well.
Great video Keith. Have you tried setting up these labs on Google Cloud or AWS for people who can't afford a server. Google Cloud give you 300 dollars free which is enough to spin up EVE-NG for labs
Thank you Manuel Araica for the suggestion. Currently I am focusing most of my RUclips content at the Cisco CCNA level, but will keep your suggestion in the queue as a possibility in the future. Thanks again for the idea.
Thank you for the question Rohit Manoharan. I use a Stream Deck from Elgato, that allows me to switch between multiple "scenes" with a single button within OBS (my recording software). It is all pre-set to allow the fast switching.

That is awesome! Congratulations on your success Yash, and thank you for the kind words.

Glad to help, thank you for that feedback David.
Thank you Keith
Excellent explanation
Glad it was helpful!
Keith u r amazing!!
Thank you Ammar Tajeddin!
Beautifuly done, Keith!
Thank you Dmytro
awesome....much love....!!!
Thank you! Cheers!

You're welcome Paul!

Thanks Keith this is really helpful! Can you please direct me to a reference for your SecureCRT color/terminal settings? I REALLY like that!

Thank you Shawn!
Keith Barker thank you so much! I have never checked their forums so that would have been the place to start. Thanks for all your insight and content!
Awesome! It's great to know that VMware license is free for one server.
Enjoy!
Hi Keith Sir,
I have a doubt in one interview question.
"what's the difference between classless routing and classful routing"
Thank you for the question Sreejith. Classful routing follows the strict mask lengths for class A, B, and C networks ( /8 , /16 , /24)
Classless routing, couldn't care less (classless/care less) about those default masks, and support any length of mask on any class of address, including variable length subnet masks (VLSMs)

This was some one all brief video for virtualization. Thanks for making us easier.
This just came in my mind as I was thinking about the entire video, is it possible to run a type 2 hypervisor in a type 1 hypervisor for whatever reason?
It is possible in some scenarios. It's called nested virtualization.
Thank you for the question Rackara. I have used VMware Workstation (type 2) to host a vSphere environment (which includes ESXi hosts (type-1) for the purpose of labs and practice. It starts to be a little slow, once the virtualization is virtualized as well.
Keith I love your content from CBT Nuggets, I'm currently learning with you there, quick question why is CBT Nuggets capped at 720p?
Thank you Alberto! Regarding CBT, not sure of all the constraints and requirements they are facing regarding going to 1080p.
Happy studies!
Did you push ESXi 7 ? I think the license for that is 3 months right?
Thank you for the question Manuel. I signed up for a free copy of ESXi7 with VMware. Love it so far.
Great video Keith. Have you tried setting up these labs on Google Cloud or AWS for people who can't afford a server. Google Cloud give you 300 dollars free which is enough to spin up EVE-NG for labs
Thank you Joe Earls! That is great information.
Hey Keith, will be nice to watch a video about containers security
Thank you Manuel Araica for the suggestion. Currently I am focusing most of my RUclips content at the Cisco CCNA level, but will keep your suggestion in the queue as a possibility in the future. Thanks again for the idea.
Sir which software do u use for chalkboard? Can you please tell
2:42 Corel Painter
It simply has brushes to imitate "natural media" like pencils or chalk
Just an image of a chalkboard, and corel painter "brushes".
And how do u switch the full-screen to chalkboard so fast
Thank you for the question Rohit Manoharan. I use a Stream Deck from Elgato, that allows me to switch between multiple "scenes" with a single button within OBS (my recording software). It is all pre-set to allow the fast switching.
I FAILED .......761...online sucked for me............WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!
