sorry for the long time with no videos, it's been difficult getting back into a creative mindset especially after exams and stuff. i've got all summer ahead of me, so you'd think that i have time to film and edit, but i'm gonna be so loud that i can tell i won't be awake enough to be creative
also this isn't as much comedy-oriented but more like actual vlogger style which isn't my usual thing and i tried to put jokes in it but y'know, i hope y'all still enjoy this
also i know dofe is a thing that only like 10% of my fanbase recognises but youtube tells me to make more videos on trending topics to "help me grow" and my previous dofe video got a lot of views purely because of the word "dofe" being used in the title and description and tags and stuff, so i was like "screw it let's make a dofe hacks/cheats/secrets/hints/tips/tricks video"

the tips for those too lazy to watch:
1. bring a roll of bin bags
2. bring a gas stove, a gas canister and a kettle
3. make sure everything you bring is waterproof (plastic bags and protective covers)
4. you can use your guide ropes as washing lines
5. keep food in your front pocket or most convenient place
6. you can use the snapchat map to stay on track to find other people
7. DRINK WATER - keep 1 litre bottles on each side
8. make plastic bags with meals in each one
9. when wearing your bag, make sure the majority of your weight is on your hips
10. bring a portable charger if you’re bringing a phone (keep them in a plastic bag)
11. if you’re walking through bogs, stay near grass
12. bring a bit more clothes than you think you need
13. BRING SUNSCREEN
14. bring some money and earphones for the bus journey
15. bring a pen knife if you’re allowed
16. don’t bother bringing a pillow (use your coat, jumper or a pillow case which you can stuff)

Want a pillow? Take a pillow case and stuff your clothes and jacket in it
Also you can store your clothes inside the pillow case so your bag stays organised

If you get stuck in a bog, (from experience) you have two options:
1- Give up you're already at least knee deep.
2- Throw a sweet trail to try to tempt your friends (or wild animals) to the area you are situated in to either trap them too or have them attempt to save you :)
(or sink into the underworld)

•bring kettle (boils water quick)
•keep snacks in pockets
•DRINK water

•make sure weight of backpack is on hips or u will die
•take a power bank to keeps phone charged

•if near bogs make sure there is long grass so you won’t sink
•if you’re a ginger bring sun cream even if it’s gonna rain

we watched this in class(well we watched a different video of DoFE but then my teacher went out of the class and this was next and everyone found you so funny😂 then people died when they heard the Wii music

I have just passed my bronze DofE Expedition and the thing that was most handy to me was to use your fleece as a cover and use your sleeping bag as a pillow and also to have a 4 litre water bladder at the top of your bag so you don’t have to keep taking your bottle out and back in
I know this was 6 years ago but these hacks are LIFE SAVERS. I'm on my silver and I am definitely using these again this year. They were so helpful for my bronze.

It was raining that hard on the practice day of dofe that we had to go back home before even camping because the rain was that bad :) loved every minute whoop

Josh Smith my practise expedition was a few weeks ago (bronze) and we walked 7ish hrs both days. i was soo sore when we got back but was better by the monday (got home saturday)

But my assessor put my name on a list for the stuff I need but people are telling me things like "good luck" and " there's nothing much you can do". I have to bring my ruck sack to school tomorrow and keep it there till the expedition

It depends on where you love in the UK. We did ours in Malvern and the Cotswolds. Malvern was a beast. We climbed through some guys massive garden for a shortcut but ended up leaving a water bottle behind as we jumped across the mini lake. That was too long of a day
We live in the Malvern district council area and my son's school did it somewhere in Wales. Did you get to go to The Kettle Sings?

This is actually helpful to me as a lot of this could apply to this program we have in certain US states called 4-H. Depending on your state, grade, and what your willing to pay for, there's certain camps that take you deep into the wilderness. (Ha! Like I'm doing that)
But luckily for me, I haven't been to any that were really wildernessy, and my mom wouldn't want me to go. I stick to the more civilization ones and thankfully your allowed to bring cell phones now as before I would 4 days and 1 half day behind on everything.

DofE in Scotland allows you to do what you want but there’s only 2 rules. Don’t leave the area for the expedition and make it to the camps on time (but if your late they really don’t give one 😂)
