    Thank you for creating this video on the Acorn Debit Card, Brendan! This was my first video of yours and I was intrigued enough to subscribe and check out your other videos. I was happily surprised that you hit some of the points I was trying to research on the card and I now look forward to your other financial videos!! Again Thank you!

    The “instant” roundup feature is advertised heavily because previously, other banks have tried and what happens is they will wait several days, lump it all together, and then dump it, and if you’re super broke this can be a kick while you’re down.

    Chime does the round up thing too, plus they have a spot me feature, and a credit builder account.

    Good video. Seems like a good idea for the Dave Ramsey crowd with spending issues.
    However, it isn't for me. Those with spending control can use Fidelity, Schwab, or SoFi. They can also sign-up for Rakuten and get the same cashback benefits. Beetle

    Did you say beetle as in beetlejuice? Anyway just wanted to say your videos are awesome. I always appreciate the time and research you put into making quality videos. Providing such good pros and cons of products and showing how it works in real everyday life situations. Not just that in theory a product or service might be good.

    Happy New Year Brendan!! Does Acorns offer an emergency fund with this checking account? If so, how does an Acorns user open up the emergency fund account? But the debit card is made out of a durable plastic. At least I think so. I had it before and the previous card was metal. I like the older version of it better.

    I like using the card because no foreign transaction fees or atm fees either when I travel and I travel a lot (sure the bank might charge me but thats ok) and I try to stay away from credit cards. Also, I prefer it instantly investing for me too because I am one of those impatient people that didn’t want to wait for a min of $5 for the change to be invested 😅. Also BEETLE!!

    I'm already an acorns user. Was interested in their checking just to make the 1% walmart kickback, etc. easier to get. There's always some reason that connection doesn't get made for me. I liked the 3% interest on checking so another reason I considered it. Then I got curious about the bank that this card goes through...Lincoln Savings Bank out of Iowa. That bank has a C+ rating. Hmm. How worrisome is that and who is reputable enough to get a high interest, fee free, checking account through?
    Maybe I'm overthinking this...

    Can you do a Titan Invest and Fundrise review? Would be good to know if these two Platforms are worth using.

      I had this problem too. Apparently they use 2 different partner banks and have only made it work for 1 of them. If your bank is Lincoln Savings Bank in their Spend account it hasn’t become active for us yet

      @@BrendanEvanI agree, Acorns should make the emergency fund account easily accessible just as they’ve done with their other features.

      @@cesarcharoletthe only way to get the emergency fund feature is to cancel the old account and sign up again for the updated version. It doesn’t make sense to do that. Besides the material Acorns used before this update was much better than the material being used now.

    Would you say using this debit card over a credit card is better due to the investing part and does it compete with some credit cards cash back rewards/point systems?

    • @BrendanEvan
      @BrendanEvan  Год назад

      On its own no. Whatever method helps you spend less is best.
      Maybe it would be since you know it’s got a hard limit being a debit card and doesn’t incentivize spending as well as a credit card?

  • @nymiradripp

    So the acorns Debit Card replaces your other debit cards? If you want?

    • @BrendanEvan
      @BrendanEvan  Год назад

      No it’s tied to the Acorns checking account they open for you so it’s a different card for a different account.
