    I'd refit the original Doughnut back on but turn 180 and install on the slant again, will be perfect in the coming months. I'd also just glue the knuckle boot back together 😂

    Hiya Keith-another brilliant video. It's better than new where you,ve welded it, probably stronger! I liked the new intro too. Keep the videos coming-got the CMW hoodie delivered. Keep well(springtime is coming)!!

    I bought some suspension knuckles from Mini Spares in their sale before Christmas and on Saturday i found that the knuckle is to small for the end of the trumpet, just slides in and out when it should be a interference fit. Not fit for purpose Keith!!

    I have had many Minis since 1967 raced one in the 70s had a MK2 Cooper S in 1972. I had a very low mirage 1970 Mini 1275Gt with hydrolastic suspension in Antelope it had far and away the best ride of any Mini I ever had sadly it was stolen in an Enfield car park in 1979 and never recovered. I have a JC40LE now which is a great car but in comparison the hydro 1275GT rode like a XJ6. I still have a soft spot for a 52 year old GT - bet you would be impressed. The GT should have had the free revving 70BHP + but torquey twin carb engine from the Austin 1300GT it would have transformed the car . Maybe make a 1275GT from a more basic MK 3 Mini with a A series plus but with hc gas flowed head and 2 1 1/4 SUs . ? I think the panels are still available .

    Hi Keith, I took the rubber donuts from the back of my Mini and put them on the front suspension and the front donuts on the back suspension. Now it rides too high at the front and just right at the back. I've had the front suspension cones off again to make sure they were bedded correctly. Can't figure out why the front is still riding too high? Also I can't get the upper part of the dust cover over the knuckle joint to go into place on the drivers side. Much frustration. Any ideas?

      Yes, the front end on Bruce is now very high! I usually use HiLo's so I can adjust for new donuts but to save cash on Bruce, they are standard trumpets. You will see how high it is when I put the front end on. I think I might have to drive it a bit to get it to settle. As for the knuckle joint rubbers, I've had the same problem before. Some are just a right pain! I've used a small pick set to carefully push the rubbers back on before. The knuckles I've bought recently have been no problem at all.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  2 года назад +1

      It's a generic intro I put together for other videos. Decided to give it a try out but will revert back to the Bruce intro next time.
