Great question! Honestly, for what you're describing, the GoPro Hero 9- 12 will do the trick. It’s rugged, has amazing stabilization, and works great in tight spaces-perfect for capturing your work as a mechanic. But honestly, it’s less about the specific camera model and more about how you use it and the editing afterward. Even an older GoPro can look amazing if you take the time to edit the footage well. Focusing on good angles, clear audio, and telling a story through your work will go a lot further than just strapping on a camera and hitting record. So, don’t forget to invest in your editing skills -it’s where the magic really happens!
GoPro 7 and 8 are still great choices. They take great video and give you good frame rate options for slow motion. You don't get some of the newer features GoPro has released but if you're relatively new these options are great to start with and give you lots of growing room.
any idea how to overlay garmin cycling stats over a gopro video? seems either very difficult, or not possible at all, which is why i am leaning towards getting an insta360
As far as I know it's not possible... think the only options are to use GoPros badges which include GPS, route, speed, etc but don't think you can overlay another devices data.
My left ear loved this
A bit funny that you teach video editing but your voice audio is panned to the left.
What is panned to the left lol I’m interested
like if I were to wear headphones it would be only in my left ear
haahhah, I`m hearing him only on right speaker
for real, even just on iphone you can hear it
great video thanks!
Hi your videos are super helpful, whats the name of the tripod for the selfie stick , the link isn't working for me . 😅
Thanks Shaun! I updated the link for tripod legs. These are the ones I recommend: amzn.to/411G7LG
Great video. Very helpful and insightful
I'm a mechanic and I see a lot of other mechanics strap a camera to them and go to work what kind of GoPro would you recommend for that type of work?

Can you edit your videos on your phone instead of a computer?
