I have been using this gadget for a while even when the heavy didnt have it but I think it's a really good gadget and with the right tm8s and the right placement and it's got good coverage it can really turn a fight.
i have always been using this gadget since season 2 since im bad at the game and i have no sound awareness. I use it peek from vents, protect flanks etc.
tbh, sound design is so bad in this game that its actualy better not to rely on it! You always NOT gonna hear footsteps when you need it, bcs some guy shot 100m away. (shots and explosions remove step sounds unexpectedly strongly, to the point that you just not having them). Like, why doing this. So few people can actually leverage from that. Just braindead sound design. It can add skill depth to the game and not make experience of other players worse, like just do it. Now im always relying on steps sound and some guy just runs from behind without any sound cue. Its better to just ignore sound (especially lack of it) and play mostly by visuals. Im still in shock that the only few games that are able to do it correctly are at least Overwatch and Titanfall (from my exp), and you have a ton shit happening at the same time in both of these games, but sounds are actually not overloading you (atleast in my case). P.S. Same goes for cashout steal sound cue, ALWAYS look at the HUD icon, DO NOT rely on sound cue. P.S.S. I hope someone from THE FINALS management reads this comment and actually considers firing the person that made the technical sound design just so. period.
This might be one of the last gadgets that are usefup when attached on barrels. Put it on a smoke barrel and launch it offensively. Enemies have to fight blind while you can see them clearly. It has a really fast activation time so using it to prefire people is good too. Like if someone makes a hole, just chuck a sensor in to see where they are and pick the sensor back up if you win the fight.
The proximity sensor is a very good gadget. Not only does it tell your team the location of the attackers, but the other team has to live with the big red detected symbol lol on there screen and has to either destroy it which wastes their time, or continue with a constant disadvantage. very useful gaged
Another thing you forgot to mention is that it's surprising durable. Requiring several shots to destroy it compared to the norm with most gadgets which is them being destroyed in one hit.
I've always considered the Proximity Sensor (aka Motion Sensor before the detection buff) as an underrated recon tool as far back as when Light class had this. It's probably no longer gonna be underrated though with this vid plus the fact that I do see more Heavys this season realize its benefits more in general 😅 It's great to indeed get recon and assess preparing for enemies, and if you place them on inconspicuous positions on common entry points, some enemies might take longer than expected to even find it lol. I personally try to use this with the antigrav cube, making said cube as an area of denial on where one of the 2 sensors are placed -- and have fragged enemies that don't immediately anticipate being pulled up by the antigrav lol.
Yea, that or not running RPG because otherwise your medium will accuse you of throwing, but at the same time never place their jump pad for me to actually use the RPG offensively or at all. lol
I used this gadget a lot when grinding for the 150 Heavy wins. It's so useful when defending a cashout. You can see from which direction the enemies come. You can also throw one on the ground when running to the cashout to see if you are getting followed. Maybe one of the best Heavy gadgets
I’ve been loving Prox! I used it a lot in TA/RTA last season and found its utility handy! With the nerfs to RPG, Mesh, and Dome, I’ve experimented with this in WT/Ranked and it’s A1.
I always had a feeling this gadget would be good lmao but ngl it reminds me of the broken wall hack perk for medium in season 1💀💀💀 only ogs remember lmao 😂😂😂 it was brooookkkkken as helllll
I do feel heavy need some changes but the mesh shield(i am gonna call mesh shield MS) nerf was a little too much i think a better way to nerf it would have been make the open/closeing of the ability have a 1 second cooldown so if you pull the MS up and back down it'll only have a 1 second cooldown but for lets say every 100(or lower number thats adds a equal cooldown so like 10 would be 0.1) damage the MS takes while it is up add lets say 1 second is added to the cool down. So if you pull it out and it takes 400 damage and you put it away you will have 1 second from opening it plus 4 more seconds making you have a 5 second cooldown before bringing it back out.
DUDE ive been doing this since szn 3 its amazing offensively and its down right oppressive defensively both having spent the better part of 20 - 30 hours using prox sensor on heavy and having played against it more recently now that people are actually using it
This might be the only video on RUclips covering this gadget. Too bad you didn’t put its name in the caption because when you search proximity sensor the finals, nothing pulls. So anyone looking for tips or suggestions or whatever isn’t getting anything including your video.
Is is definitely one of the things that has the “Busted launch jank” but because nobody knows about it it’s still in the game. Similar to the models powercreep.
@@crabnixthe model has had essentially an opposite power creep, i don’t think the poster knows what power creep means lol. powercreep means when games have new content, usually weapons, that are better than the old weapons, the old weapons become obsolete. the model has had the opposite effect, with the model not being buffed, but rather people realizing how good it is in the hands of a good player. this has led it to become meta especially in high elo ranked.
@@theswaggyshredders6904 oh okay. Thanks for the explanation. I've always used the model on and off with the ak and found it to be a better weapon, but it is highly situational. Depends upon the opponent comp.
I just have static and the middle dot on, but not the dispersion reticle. It’s way too distracting and happens regardless if the player sees it or not.
"give team crucial info" i get the support bonus points~ but~ when i watch my friends discord stream the proximity sensor isn't giving them any info, it has never done that since the release of the game, and i cant find any info whether it's supposed to except for the support points suggest it should,,,~
It does provide info for the entire team much like lights sonar grenade. The sensor will only ping enemies within an 11 meter radius and does not extend past walls.
When you first start using it just toss it every time you are in an engagement to get use to the range and placement. The biggest tip is to realize the gadget refreshes extremely fast and activates instantly. So don’t think of it just as a gadget to hold down a specific area, but more of an instant scan for an 11 meter radius. Kind of like a bloodhound tactical in Apex. Hope this helps!
@@HazedNConfused never played apex, but i have a feel for it now, went for a WT with Lewi (my fav) and the sonar, we won the whole thing, never experienced such a high level of knowledge about where the enemy is. It is mesmerising
If your running Heavy in Ranked or World Tour keep this in your reserve for the final round, you won't regret it!👍

I've been using this on my heavy since the start of season 4 and can confirm I'm the most useful heavy in my games so far

@@HazedNConfused A gadget with many uses 😎

100% a lot of players are still using season 1-3's meta (they are still really good), but are missing out on gadgets that are just as strong.
Yeah I’ve seen quiet many heavy’s with it this season. I might try it 🤔
Please do!
The fact it shows them from any distance on the map when detected is amazing. Great for hunting the last person for the wipe bonus.
ooh the gun going over the text was pretty flashy editing, I liked it.

@@Calamitiousrecon sense, as jump pads are not a specialization lol

I can 100% confirm that. I made atleast 3 teams quit today, but busting through a wall like Koolaid and wiping them. 😂😂

Okay this is fire ima try this tonight

nooo don't tell them !! I was abusing it since the start of this season so underestimated :O
Sorrryyy XD
Can say. I've been using it like crazy and it's great
Same it’s super strong. Once people realize the enemy ping is instant, a lot more will use it.

11 meters? Why it's only 5 in practice room?
It’s 11 meters in the practice range, check 4.0.0 patch notes.
