I work at Food 4 less,and background music is playing,i searched everywhere for this song on RUclips,thought it was Adele,Sara Jackson,Birdy and Amy winehouse but nope,it's Beach House,i never heard of this artist before,Beach House is a cool artist name too:) i even try to shazam it,but it never came on,until today,after 3 weeks of trying to shazam it,a song came on,and sounded like Beach House,And here it is,YEAAAAA BABYYYY,THIS IS NOW MY FAVORITE SONG!!!
Hi, Mike. I'm a sound engineer and composer, and i think i know why the song would not Shazam. Because the pitch is slowly bending in and out, and they are using an alternate, historical tuning. I can't tell if it's Valotti, to Kirnberger tuning but what's happening is the computer algorhythms are having a problem pinpointing the song because the pitch and tuning keep fluxuating. You never hear this effect in pop music because it is very difficult to pull-off without sounding like song is going to melt off the page and out of sight. // Incidently, what brought me here was to actually make a comment on the song's tuning. Pretty original stuff!

The first verse of this song always reminds me of my sweet baby girl dog Kittery and the impact she had on our lives. When the song first came out I used to listen to it in the car when I'd take her out to the beach or the hills. I'm still in awe of how purely and thoroughly she loved.
