It`s also worth looking at the cheapest version of the Sentier which I own. It has a 1x10, Rockshox recon fork, shimano mt400 brakes. And it feels really nice and gives you a ton of confidence as an beginner. It is also a lot cheaper at 849,99 pounds.
Pay the extra 250 and get the VRS model. Better brakes, better groupset, a dropper, better finishing kit much better fork. Definitely better option than stock

I hope you get to the higher price range. I want to see where you guys would place my Commencal Meta AM HT Race 29. Just bought it and it's the best hardtail I've ever ridden (minus the Guide brakes, had to switch those to Zee)
@@caleb.w honestly, no complaints except the stock Guide T brakes. I prefer the feel of the lever on Shimano's rather than Sram so I installed some Zee brakes, great upgrade because it feels like my XT 4 pistons on my 5010, but with more stop on command power. the NX groupset works fine. The slack geometry makes it really stable and surprisingly agile downhill, the 29ner 2.5 minion/aggressor combo has great traction and carries a lot of speed, the 150mm Lyrik is phenomenal. I was torn between the Commencal Meta HT, Marin San Quentin 3, and Nukeproof Scout. I went with the Meta because I liked the kit it came with: i prefer a 150mm fork, like 12spd w/ 32T and 170mm cranks. I wanted to have a beater hardtail, but upgrade as little as possible and the Commencal was to my liking. I'm 5'7 and the medium fit to a dime; seat slammed and the 150mm dropper fits perfectly. I'm honestly enjoying taking this out more than my 5010. you'll love this bike!
So the Vitus vr in the US costs 1199$ then the nukeproof scout is 999.99$. should I save the extra 200$ and get the vitus or should i get the nukeproof. The kind of bike i want is a do everything bike that is also playfull.
James Salyards Well, I am glad I can help you with that. I kinda went through the same decision (even though I ended up on 3000$ full sums, what I regret tbh because now I have to pay it on a monthly base, while working in MCd after my highschool, so yeah I can help you because I was in the exact same decision) my conclusion was connected with the fact I live in the middle of Europe where both ain’t available that easily. When you hold on a minute and stop looking at the price, Vitus is better. It has better fork and better drivetrain. It’s better bike ofc. But the price is key for you so let’s hop back and it’s up to you whether 200$ is just a matter of buying one pair of shoes less/not buying a stupid thing you don’t need, or as for me as a student, let’s say a month of part time work somewhere. If you can just miss on the shoes etc, I would certainly go for Vitus because you will appreciate the upgrades compared to Vitus. But if what would mean “extra 200$=extra let’s say month of earning)” I would go for Nukeproof. In the end drivetrain is something you will have to change over some time and you can buy a proper fork after some time. So better buy Nukeproof. 2 differences are changeable over time. Btw as 3000$ full sus 1x12 bike user I can honestly tell you that 1x10 is enough for most of the stuff if not all, it’s more reliable and fork on both is gonna be shit compering to my Lyric setted up properly, but also gold mine for the money against my lyric when climbing. Go for what you can effort and have a great biking summer. GL mate.
