With the complete set there’s a neat little auxiliary viewfinder that slides into the flash shoe. It shows the view for the 35mm lens, and has a small plate that flips down to give the view covered by the 100mm lens.
There’s also a selenium meter that mates to the shutter speed dial. When adjusted it tells what aperture to set the lens at.
All in all a pretty neat little kit. And your photos show the 35mm lens to have good image quality!

It is a cool system when you see gow they made the camera. It was overly complicated though and I am guess cost of manufacture was incredible due to this complexity. I enjoyed the process of making the adapter work though and the lens actually did perform pretty well. Thank you!!!

Lovely images out of that little beauty. My first camera was a gift from my grandmother back in the 60’s and it was an Argus. Can’t recall what happened to it but do have pics taken with it from the 80’s and was always surprised at how well they came out. Happy Weekend!

Yes, these are like "sleeper" lenses from what I can tell. they actually render really nice images when the light is good, I saw some issues outside in the sun, but that is to be expected with low element count lenses from this time period. Thank you!

I love that you kept the leather necklace on for a long time. How long until you complete the Argus set? The mall was pretty much a ghost town. Thanks, David.

I am watching fleabay now. 🥴😂 Shouldnt be too much longer. I just dont want a like new copy. I am trying to wait till there is one that is a little banged up but optically good so I can save a few bucks. The little necklace case is kinda neat, I like the concept alot.

@@davidsaylors The Holy trinity 2.8 Nikon zooms come in over the shoulder padded cases. Sometimes I use the 70-200 case and I can switch lenses between the 24-70 and the 70-200 and keep the other in the bag. It's a light way to carry heavy gear. That was often my live music setup before I started carrying two bodies and a blackrapid double breathe harness. These days I don't get to do much live music photography.

You had more time back then since you didn’t have a RUclips channel to feed... so you get a pass 😜 Your setup was very deliberate and efficient. Well done

Looks sharp! Are you going to look for the 100mm as well? Munchen = Munich. My dad had the very same skylight filter for his rangefinder.

I have looked a little, but havent found anything yet, but what would the collection be without the final piece? 🤷‍♂️ I have to find one now... Thank you for the clarification on the name, that makes a lot sense now. I appreciate it! 👍📸

Argus has an office in Inverness IL a suburb of Chicago. Not sure if they have a store or even open to the public. I can look into it.

It is just the name now. The history is available online. The camera division closed a long time ago and was absorbed by someone else.

They have a museum in Ann Arbor. The next time I go to Detroit, I might visit it.

Hello! I would like to ask for help. I shoot using fujifilm xt2 with vintage lenses and I recently purchased a vintage lens but I don't know which adapter will I need. Is there a way that I can show you my lens?
The lens I bought is Vivitar 28mm f2 wide angle close focus
it says on the marking that it is "c/fd" I assumed it is a canon fd mount and I already have an adapter FD to FUJI X but it won't seem to fit. I hope you can help me. I can send you pictures of it but I don't know how. Thank you. I've been struggling for 2 weeks now and already bought 2 wrong adapters that I don't need. :((

I can try as best i can with the internet. You can teach me direct at georgiaphotog@gmail.com so you can send me pictures. I would have guessed the Canon mount too... this is intriguing! 👍📸 We will figure it out one way or another.
