To judge something is to express opinion and that exemplifies free will. If it’s an excellent video, then you’re saying it was possible for it to have come out worse. Or that it’s above par, and that shows that the creator had free will to make it bad or excellent, or even just have gotten somewhat lazy and created an average video.
However, he chose excellently! His will and determination is what made it excellent.
If there’s no free will then nothing is good, bad, or in between. It just “is”

Actually.. atoms, whether at the quantum or larger level, as defined by classical physics- would not have the capacity/capability to think. It’s been proven by quantum mechanics, that something else is driving atoms.. consciousness. An analogy.. you’re playing a video game, the atoms making up the images on the tv screen, are certainly not thinking in the classical sense.. they are not “doing it on their own”. The atoms on the screen are imbued with the consciousness of the video game creator, and the players. Our physical bodies are no more solid than anything on a screen.. in fact, atoms are never at rest, always moving.. we are a collective infinite consciousness, experiencing a temporary individual reality.
Wanted to add.. I believe, the reason for the delay-when measuring the moment of deciding something then executing it.. is another indication that our pure consciousness is driving our physical bodies. Even when doing the experiment.. telling my wrist to move.. I myself can tell I’m “thinking” about moving my wrist before I actually tell it to move.. Donald Hoffman-reality is an illusion.. good stuff:)

Thx to an enjoyable video of thinking and reasoning. To your Q the answer is both - we have both free will and not. Depending on how we judge that. In using only our mind as a determinant of free will it will [almost] always give us the illusion that we have no free will, like we never know what's really behind our thinking or reasoning about it. Or the Q is that "will" of such "importance" to say free or not free? Similar to quantum state of a particle as the thought of will (free or not) in a double-slit experiment, to understand the wave form of same that lies behind our mind or thinking, or what is "that will" prior to the concentrated particle (mind). The mind (particle) will never grasp our innermost will (the wave form) behind what really is our will - but understanding or knowing that, is reckoning or knowing that there is free will, but not in the way we usually think about it, Thinking is only the particle form of our consciousness. So the Q is rather what is our consciousness and is free will then an important part, or actual part, of it then? But in our mind can not grasp our consciousness so we might better stop questioning it and dive into what's behind it, the seemingly randomness of endless possibilities not reached solely by our thinking about it. Ok, just a thought in the early morning in a different timezone playing with a few words in the middle of nowhere, maybe another planet 🙂 Must wake up and get me an expresso now, that's using my free will, isn't it?

You gain experience and skills from this process.

Perhaps, it's something we need to realign with from the physical side after we're born, but either way, we gotta follow the blue print we laid out for ourselves.🤔 Just a thought. You cannot realign the biological blueprints that were chosen by your parents and are evident in every cell of your body. The only realignment that is possible is to create the next generation with proper inherited genetics, proper altered genetics, and healthy early childhood synaptic development. You can influence what type of human is brought into the world, but there is no fixing them after that. They just run their course in the absence of free will.

Let's keep it simple. Einstein's theory of special relativity has been extensively tested and demonstrates that the Universe behaves like a block where past, present, and future coexist. Therefore, the movie has already been filmed, and we are witnessing its playback at a rate of one second per second. Most likely, the entire movie is nothing more than the product of a simulation that already exists on a cosmic DVD or streaming. The simulation has already run, and now we are witnessing its playback. Millions of years ago, there was no consciousness on the planet, which shows that our presence in the universe is completely irrelevant to it, so don't worry, be happy.

In our own experiences, we cannot objectively determine whether our spontaneous choices come from our own original impulse or as a reaction to preordained conditions. But as for simulation theory.. Who or what could honestly be bothered? The amount of input required would be beyond the job description of most deities let alone any (no matter how hard-working) living being! But whilst I mostly reject any deterministic thinking, we do experience one thing that should give us pause. That is synchronicity. To greater or lesser degree, synchronicities where the outer world suddenly aligns with our own thoughts pose a couple of uncomfortable questions. Either the outer world was influenced by my thought, or my thought was determined by the course of the outer world. Both ideas suggest some sort of fate or predetermined plan..
In reality there has to be some sort of interaction between the potential and the actual realities.

Free Will *does* exist but it's not as 'free' as we may like to believe.
The term 'Free Will' implies an open ended response/decision/answer system, where absolutely any possibility could be your response to any decision.
In practice however, 'Free Will' is limited to a fixed number of possible choices (unique to each time it is applied).
    For example:
    * - You choose the color of shirt you'd wear today, but your decision is limited to the colors that shirts may be sold in or limited to the colors of shirts you own.
    * - If asked about attending a friend's birthday party, you could choose to attend or decline or reserve to decide at a later time.
You're always limited by a fixed number of possible choices.
There is not a single moment when you have absolute Carte Blanche.
Theoretically speaking, every single outcome, with the outcomes then leading to other choices and so on, could be calculated by an appropriately designed computer program.

Free will? Hmmm. In the stream of time and events we are carried along with the current. Yet in our journey our free will is mostly limited by our POV as long as we exist on this mortal plane. There are certain constraints that are deterministic, such as wars, economies, place of birth, etc. But like a fish we "choose" how we will navigate determined as much by our perceptions as by reality. IMHO we are constrained both by causality and our own determination. Ultimately It's one of those crazy irresistible force vs immovable object type of conundrum.

We have choices. After severe injuries we can will ourselves to heal and renew. We can work through the pain and build our bodies back up. The body is miraculous at healing. Either we can give up and allow our bodies to atrophy after trauma or we can build ourselves back up again. It’s a choice and we can make it happen. I’ve seen much evidence of this in my personal life to know that people can be stubborn and work through pain, heal and renew. It is not easy, but there is no other way than to try and stay dedicated. It can take years. Keep on, one day at a time. Focus on today, on the present, one minute at a time. Blessings.

Unless omniscient it seems impossible to confirm with certainty how much free will we have, if any. I know I feel like I do even if living in a predetermined simulation. I want to make decisions taking consequences into consideration. I live as if facts exist and we all share the same realty regardless of differing beliefs. The universe seems a mix of order and chaos.

Oddly enough, quantum computers, and their Q-bits being either 0, 1 either or both, is actually a working computer that "calculates" faster than digital computers. So is it really random, and can this randomness actually lead to exact calculations? I guess it can. No one may be able to truly understand quantum physics, but it can be used in precise ways. Free willl is fact. The ability of the human mind to manifest absolute alternate reality wholly new concepts and convince itself of its truth is free will on steroids. The mind has no limits and can reach across space/ time.and reality itself. The question is Does a thought truly exist if the beholder never shares it with the outside world. Is it lost as if it never happened or is the information therin part of the entirety of information which make up this reality.? Please post your testable proof as to the answere...

I will now rant about something that either makes total sense or is completely senseless. Im not saying this is right or wrong, just what I currently believe and am open to thinking differently about it too.
I think that some peoples views of what determinism and quantum mechanics are needs to change for it to make more sense. If you've never experienced very bad depression and suicidal thoughts, then it would be hard to predict what someone like that would do, even the person with suicidal thoughts would find it hard to understand what they want to do because they are in a very chaotic state of mind. Just because from an outside perspective we cannot understand what they would do, and even to the person experiencing it doesnt know, it doesnt mean that there isnt a process happening to determine it. Language and with it our personal perspective on the world and human concepts just end up clouding the way we think about things. Your conscious mind is bothered and clouded by thinking about these complex/arbitrary concepts such as suicidal thoughts, but the unconscious mind is breaking down these concepts into more fundamental and less chaotic concepts/reasons for you.
What does this mean? It means your unconscious mind is what is governing your conscious thoughts, and its not random. It breaks down these complex concepts into more simple terms (for example why do you pick up a phone? A phone is just a random arrangement of atoms but to your conscious mind you view it mainly as a phone and a device you can use to do any number of things through your view of reality. Your unconscious mind breaks down what a phone is into smaller and smaller concepts until eventually you probably reach a point of, I picked it up to feel better in that moment. It goes a bit beyond picking up the phone because you want to scroll instagram or talk to a friend) in an effort to make more sense of them so it can then determine the most optimal way of receiving "happiness"/"understanding"/"authenticity to the individual and their unique make up", but it can only do this based on previous experience and that individuals own world view and perspective on all the human concepts it knows. Depressing thoughts and suicide are extremely complex thoughts tho. In order for the conscious mind and unconscious mind to understand the reasoning's behind suicidal thoughts, the unconscious mind has to break this chaotic concept down so far that what it becomes left with is not a clear understanding of the concept. If the mind stays in this state for an extended period of time tho, it finds patterns in these broken down concepts in an effort to create reasons for understanding the chaotic thought of suicide. To observers when hearing those reasoning. It would just sound almost like nonsense. The number of hoops they had to jump through to justify that line of thinking. All the observer can do is make assumptions based on their own knowledge and experience to attempt to understand the chaotic experience and concept it has been told. If their brain has also went through something similar, it can recognize some of those patterns of broken down concepts already to make understanding it easier. It is however probably impossible to ever know the entirety of some someones experience, and so its probably impossible to fully determine someones actions.
You can compare this to photons of light an how they appear to be in-deterministic until the moment they are observed. Its the same as the mind is. A thought can not be observed from an outside perspective until the moment it has been acted out or said out loud. Consciousness and experience is the manifestation of the quantum world in the macro reality. Its allowing us to almost peer at what is going on with subatomic particles. You can think of a person as being in a super position of possible states and those possible states are determined by their experience and view of reality and also the stimulus that is it currently receiving. You can think of the entirety of humanity as in a quantum super position too. Its impossible to say where humanity will be in the far future because thinking that far ahead requires too many complex concepts to create a clear image of it. We can make fairly likely claims where we may be in a few years tho. Those claims however are ever changing based on how humanity behaves and does what it does as a whole. You can even think of an area of your desk as being in a quantum superposition. You can predictably claim that dust will accumulate on it in the same way you can predictably claim that humanity will live until next year. You cant predict the formation of accumulated dust or how long it will even take for you to even see it as something that's dusty, but it will accumulate the way it does because how much dust there is around and the flow of air or lack there of in the room over many days or hours and the way the each individual spec of dust (with their own unique formations like snowflakes) interact with the air around it. You can also think of this or any text as being in a quantum superposition. I myself wrote this with a certain intention and meaning, but everyone who reads it will view in through the lense they view the world in and get different intentions and meanings. The very text itself could have a seemly infinite number of possible interpretations. Its inherently chaotic. To a dog it has no meaning, to a person it ends up having the meaning it has due to their previous experience and perspective on the individual words and text as a whole.
If you could simulate everything in the entire universe you would be able to predict all of those actions. There is causal reasoning behind everything. Just because free will and consciousness may not exist in the traditional concept or understanding you or we have of it. Doesn't mean that everything has to be meaningless. If everything really is meaningless, then everything is also full of meaning too. Just remember that because someone does something rude or mean. Its not because they are a "bad" person. Its just because their circumstances in life have led them to have a particular world view in which behaving that way makes sense to them. I dont think I can hate someone like that instead of feeling bad for them and hoping they can get better or even try attempt to help them myself. You can be the person that changes the meaning that person sees in things, and they can then be that person for someone else in a cascading fractal effect, of which you are already apart of a seemingly near infinite amount of already.
I do not however agree with the criminal aspect of the video. You can say it was the universe that made them do that. But criminals also think in human concepts. Not in universal causes. Its the situation that humanity created for that criminal to experience life the way he did which caused him to turn into a criminal. Which was avoidable in retrospect, if we just understand that its us that created the criminal, and that we should want to change that going forward as a species. We basically of mocked and made fun of that by creating such a chaotic environment for them to try and make sense of until they became a criminal who we then locked up and punished. Doesn't really sound fair does it. Im not saying we shouldn't lock up criminals, only that we have to accept this is the society we created and that we should try our best to make a brighter world for the people around us rn and the people in the future, but also yourself. Search for what makes you happy and do it, just dont get too caught up in chaotic concepts. Just keep asking yourself why you do the things you do.

I hate to be picky but quantum physics is not random. Some outcomes are more probable than others and therefore they are not random. Complete randomness is scientifically impossible.
However, I agree that the idea of free will is problematic mainly because language is problematic and the unknowable which is what Wittgenstein was trying to point out.
When it comes to philosophy the first lesson I learned was that philosophy is not about confusing yourself with circular arguments. It is about giving knowledge a perceptive where common ground is a possibility.
I think free will is best understood in its political sense. It is part of human right that is given to individuals.
Therefore, the important aspect of it is who owns it and not how a particular decision comes about anywhere along the spectrum of random and reasoned. Then we can extrapolated that to ourselves in which case their is no need to have the interference of problem of mind and body.
It is the right to choose in which case one can say it might not be free but it is still mine. We are allowing freedom of choice.
The idea of responsibility is not and should not be associated with free will. Responsibility is the consequence of a choice imposed on an individual by society or himself.
It is a judgment and dependent on who makes it and within what context.
Social responsibility is a manufactured notion as are all the other human laws created for the of sake co-existence.
You don't have to be "irresponsible" to make an "irresponsible" choice. It is a value judgment imposed not chosen.

There is no 'free will' in the material/deterministic world as we are all bound by something called 'Karma'. Thou in the ethereal/emotional world we have a Free Will to choose HOW we RESPOND to the 'impulses' and the 'reality' of the material world. We should be (through the proper use of the free will) the masters of our emotions. E-motion (energy in motion) should be controlled ... that is the free will.

No free will. Criminals get theirs because the just also act without free will. Not simulated. The start had some amount of energy that determined the space by sending the things instantly to their location. But in the space nothing stops so it’s weird. Probably in the larger it also does not stop but still it’s real but does not last. Can things stop probably not.

Its obvious the Sphinx statue was originally a lion and reworked with the human head . The head is too out of proportion . It's not a new concept to me. In fact, I thought I created this concept until I saw this video.
I believe at 100% of deterministic theory. There is no chance or probability.
If something's happen, it is because it was supposed to happen. If you win at a lottery with 50 millions possibility, we call it chance. but there is none. Why? Cause we cannot calculate in advanced the result in a restraint amount of time.
Everything that we don't understand, we call it chance or probability. But this is all a illusion. We have the illusion of freewill and it is fine to have that illusion.
We cannot apply deterministic theory to our lives and let the consequence happen cause we would become lazy. But even that last concept I just told comes into the equation of deterministic theory.
A butterfly will influence the weather cause everything comes into the equation. Everything is one.

After 3 minutes I'm board and already typing comments. Questioning why I am watching a long winded video attempting to sound esoteric, but instead superficial, full of meaningless deepness. Cut to the chase, the one question to ask, is consciousness or self a product of the brain or something external to the brain?
All who work in medical fields associated with the brain agree, according to "the science", consciousness or self is a product of the brain. Yet 50% of those same professionals say they personally believe there must be something more to consciousness, a spiritual level, that consciousness or self is external to the brain and body.
    The physical universe as we experience it, is deterministic, free will does not truly exist if consciousness is merely a construct of the brain and environment; only if consciousness or self is external and exists before and after the body. {quantum brain theories on consciousness have no proven validity and discounted by most}
