I wore Pumas when I joined my school's soccer team back in the early 1970's because nearly everyone else wore Adidas. Personally I didn't think there was any real difference. I don't think anyone wore Nike at that time.
I used to be a Nike guy but started buying Adidas because I felt Nike have lost their way with their designs in the last few years. And besides, that Adidas have much better clothing designs! I do hope Nike shift design gears again and return to making shoes I want to wear.

Michael Jordan originally preferred Adidas over Nike. If it wasn't for his mum who nagged him to sit in for Nike's pitch, there won't be an Air Jordan line of sneakers and potentially a sneaker culture we know today.

Thanks for the video! I was aware of the feud and I find it very interesting. Adidas has their North American headquarters in the metro area that I live in. I have a friend that works for them. I also have a friend that lives right near the Adidas campus and Adidas has not been a good neighbor and has expanded and ruined a nice residential neighborhood. My friend isn't happy. I now prefer Puma over Adidas and Nike over both since Nike has it's headquarters in my area too!
Thanks for the video cuz I didn't know alot about these companies.
I never really cared much about what brand my clothing was, shoes included, I just picked whatever I thought looked cool, I'm wearing a Sonoma shirt, AND1 shorts, and DC shoes
I prefer the Creator/history aspects to the videos compared to the hard company stats, so i loved this vid.
I wore Pumas when I joined my school's soccer team back in the early 1970's because nearly everyone else wore Adidas. Personally I didn't think there was any real difference. I don't think anyone wore Nike at that time.
And I’m here wearing an Adidas hoodie with Puma shoes
I used to be a Nike guy but started buying Adidas because I felt Nike have lost their way with their designs in the last few years. And besides, that Adidas have much better clothing designs! I do hope Nike shift design gears again and return to making shoes I want to wear.
Lol this channel is about rich companies families gossip now and I love it
1:16 I heard of someone else with the first name Adolf, but I can’t put my finger on it.…
Me
🙄😒 It was a common name back then.....before Hitler ruined it for everyone.
Same thing with the German Swatzica(?). It used to be a Buddhist symbol for peace and protection. Then Hitler ruined it for the Buddhists. Saw the explanation on a special about Far East traditions and when they showed a several hundred year old grave covered in little gold Swagzicas(?).
@@equarg Latvian traditional ornaments often contain swastikas and their derivatives since the pagan times. Which ended relatively not so long ago
More of the machinations behind the scenes at companies that the public doesn't hear about would be nice to see!
Michael Jordan originally preferred Adidas over Nike. If it wasn't for his mum who nagged him to sit in for Nike's pitch, there won't be an Air Jordan line of sneakers and potentially a sneaker culture we know today.
Thank you for making this video. I've been wondering about their rivalry for sometime now.
Also, I'd love to see you make a video on Viscount Instruments (or maybe Viscount as a whole), please.
Thank you, and keep up the great work! 😊
Do a vlog about the "break up of Standard Oil" into Exxon, Chevron & Texaco
Just like Wustof and Henkiels cutlery in Solingen Germany. Both great knives makers.
The way Americans pronounce Adidas: A-Deed-is
The way Europeans pronounce Adidas: Addy-Dass
Yup. Americans pronounce Adidas the wrong way but Nike the right way. Relative to how the original names were pronounced.
u r close to millions subscribed
8K away from 1 Million!!! Are you excited?
Let us stop and appreciate Company Man's expert use of stock video/images.
Company man can you do a vid about models it’s going out of business and I used to go there so much can you tell me how it’s going away
Modell's (edited)
JetFan92 ya lol
This is kind of a sad story, but I’m glad I got to hear it from you. You teach me a lot. Thank you 😊
I always thought the Puma shoe was a much cleaner design so that's what I went with.
As for Nike...just no. Worst shoes I've ever owned.
I've owned several Pumas and some Adidas. Never wore Nike because I just thought they looked cheap for the price you pay.
I personally prefer Adidas, Nikes are not the worst but adidas is more diverse in the clothing and shoes market
I would want to see a family feud episode of this
When I hear your intro I always think of Kid Cudi - Day 'N' Nite. Is that intentional?
I’ve just realized that I don’t think Company Man has a video about In an Out. Its one of the most for me interesting and unique companies of its type. A video on it would be great.
imagine what wouldve happened if they hadnt split up.
I bet they would have invented something so amazing that I would not even need feet anymore.
I think splitting up was needed, because If they were still merged it could be dysfunctional for the company.
@@dumbb6178 not only that, but if they didn't have that passionate rivalry they might have been content on a smaller slice of the pie and not expanded as much.
I love them both….both are classics and both have their place
i like Adidas clothes, that means sweaters, shirt, and sweatpants. But I like Pumas black shoes.
Farm and Fleet and Fleet Farm are the results of two brothers fighting over a business
I'm watching this wearing Adidas shorts, hell all my shorts are Adidas. I have Adidas stuff because I hate Nike stuff. Puma is for Europeans and Dads.
Adidas squad. 😈
👍 Cool Beans, when nike went anti-American I was done with them.
When I was a kid, Champion clothes were sold out Zellers
Capt. Rich bruh
@@CaptRich-bi3gp when did they go anti american?
