Bring Kortney back on for a part 2...she has an interesting perspective & I'd enjoy hearing more about her changes & her perspective going forward & how she thinks she's changed or deepened after her experiences
Kinda cool to get a sere spec on here! Got a guy who is on the fence about this career field. Gonna send him this video to help. Great episode as always guys!
My son is currently in Washington at SERE school has a degree from North Carolina STATE and celebrated his 30th birthday escaping from a chopper fuselage while submerged in water! He was born for this career with his talent from God. His reason for doing this is his love for outdoors and his desire to teach others, his mother, grandmother and aunts were teachers. He was an artillary seargent in the North Carolina Army National Guard for 8 years before deciding to be a SERE Specialist. While in SanAntonio he was an honor grad and received the cadre award.
@@jason6070 Hey Jason6070 good for you! If your currently Army I can tell you the transition from Army to Air Force will test your patience and is a long drawn out process. That's what my son experienced and I hope and pray yours will not go that way/ GOOD LUCK...and Blessings to you STAY STRONG!
@@alanosborne1947 I’m sorry i can only imagine that process is painful! i’m an hour down the road at seymour johnson so im already air force! From the johnston county area so im pretty lucky to be close to home, god bless you and your son sir! maybe ill run into him one day
If you have been in the military > 6 months post-boot/basic, you are a teacher/instructor, whether you know it or not, whether it's formalized or not. I teach trauma care, in the biz 30 years. You find that passion and you fuel it.
🏆⭐🎖️🙏🇺🇸 Great episode. Knowing and understanding a subject is one thing, but the ability to explain the what, where, why.. Teaching that to others... Is a gift. Especially in an area or subject that is vitally important. Thank you for sharing
I read in an article, dated awhile back, and saw one post on reddit saying reserve and guard SERE Specialists can do an accelerated tech school that's 3 months. Is this still around?
@@timothyphouthavong we can ask, but tech school is a solid timeline for every career field I’ve ever heard of. Take that for what it’s worth. We will ask though. -A
Any insight on age requirements for those interested in SERR. or age-related culture hurdles for the selection process? How would the end game for a SERE specialist wanting to do 20y after aged 30?
Aside from smoking the IFT, have you guys heard any recommendations on how to distinguish yourself from everyone else when submitting a retraining package for SERE? Currently working on figuring oht the process but want to make sure im competitive as possible before pulling the trigger. Thanks and love the videos you guys put out!
Well it’s stuff you can’t fix at this point. Were you an amazing A1C? SrA? Did you win awards, seek leadership early, get great EPB’s? Is your packet posting in spelling, grammar, and is it in the exact order specified with all necessary items? All that goes a long way; there’s no magic words or thjngs the MFMs look for you to say. Correct, orderly, precise, and follow directions.
Thank you for making a video on the SERE Specialist pipeline! If I ever joined the Air Force, I would become a SERE Specialist in a heartbeat because I love how they are pacifists alongside the fact that they train people in AF Special Warfare and even provide refresher courses! As always, stay one and ready! 💪🔥
@@OnesReady Nah, I'm just joking! They aren't pacifists; they are the best instructors around! Regarding, the impression is because they never do direct combat. 🔥💪
Of SERE? Cause, uh, the woman in the video did the physical requirements. She’s an instructor. Or do you mean you need to personally visualize someone with XX chromosomes complete an entire course to your satisfaction? Sorry, just trying to help and comment unclear.
There are different levels of sere. Thank god I am old and didn’t have any females in any of my schools. The day a female passes ARS(now only BRC) and dive, it’s over.
