    Tennis is and never will be the same without Serena. I've tried watching this younger generation playing the game, and I just don't feel it. I know these younger players will never measure up to 23 grandslams and they do play hard, but for me, it's not the same. I think a lot of us truly do miss Serena. Great interview.

    • @milvao3400
      @milvao3400 Год назад +5

      It's not that they'll never reach 23... maybe one of them will, but it's the level of the game that's pretty low... No rivalries, no great stories, no great matches. On the men's side, it's way better, but on the women's side there's nothing to watch. That's a shame because generations of players fought hard to have equal prize money... and now I feel it just created an environment where players (their team and coaches especially...) just care about winning lots of money without being stressed too much... and no one really cares about making history or be the best. The SF of a Grand slam and millions from Barilla or anyone else are just fine. I don't remember a single match that was memorable in the last 3 years. I'd rather watch Kim, Justine, Lindsay, Maria, Jennifer, Hingis, Serena, Venus... Nothing against Swiatek or Rybakina or Krejikova but where are the great matches?!

      @@milvao3400 they had a big issue about she is the best. John had said that if she played a man who is 100 rate she would still lose no matter what. Fact. She might be good but all the steroids she took is wrong. Look it up she took massive drugs. I’ll bet you did not even know her sister killed someone while she ran a stop sign. Evil is evil does. Her sister literally killed a person just because she was in a hurry and ran a stop sign. Fact. Drugs and money and drugs!!!

Even the prestige of some tournaments has disappeared. I completely lost interest. Men's tennis is a little bit better, but the transition between the old gen and the next gen could have been way more interesting. If Serena had decided not to retire last year and train a little bit, this year she would have had a shot at all 4 grand slams, because there's no competition.

Why did she say she miss her career? And why is she doing boxing that was shown on introduction, we JW are taught never to do boxing!?

      I understand why you would say that. Having endured migraines since I was 17 and I'm 52 now, everyone's pain tolerance is different. I have a very low tolerance for pain, so I definitely couldn't have played tennis with a migraine...the sunlight, the noise, smells, nausea, and dizziness. But athletes are on a different level and play through all kinds of injuries/pain to win.
