I could see the pain in her eyes but I knew if I could agree to get help then she would be happy again but also aware because now she knows if I’m having a bad day or when she can tell if I’m going to relapse she always comforts me to get the dark thoughts out of my head. It’s the most hardest thing you could ever do if you know you are struggling and fully aware that you need help to open up to someone but the outcome of it would mean that you could finally see how much people love you because when your ill you don’t see it because you head is full of so much darkness and you think everyone hates you but they don’t. my dad heard me listening to this song, and hes extremely christian. he told me "that doesn't sound christian!!" i told him that not all christian songs are happy and fun. some christians vent out the bad things in their life into songs. NF does that. Not all christian songs are praising god, i said. Some of them and about negative things, and that they just thank god for helping them. Every song is about something different, and NF's songs are about true things that are happening in his life right now, about REAL problems. NF may or may not be christian, but i love NF because he talks about REAL problems, and i have found very few music artists that talk about real shit like this. NO ONE does this as good as NF. In fact, whenever me and my dad are arguing or yelling, i go to my room, put on my headphones, and turn on NF. NF helps me to calm down so much easier than other music I've listened to. Music is my way, as well as other people's way, to vent out their feelings and emotions. As NF says at the end if this particular song, "This is a therapy for ME." I relate to that 100%. Thank you, NF, for helping me to understand you through music. ^^.^^

Whenever I fight with my parents I'll go grab my iPad and run upstairs into my room and listen to songs like "Let you down," "A thousand years," and "DNA," kind of like songs that explain me, and sad songs so they're not like high pitched and stressing me put more than I already be, I personally just found this song cause of a personalized playlist made by RUclips, and I'm very thankful I did because this is a very true song and the lyric "Imagine someone looking at you and saying your music's the reason they're alive" hit so hard... Because NF's music is the reason I'm alive... Or like the reason I didn't start cutting... Because I felt as if I could really relate to him I felt for him, and I finally felt like somebody could actually relate to me.

She just talked about how kids who are suicidal do that type of thing. She was trying to make me understand how bad it was, but she wasn't acknowledging that I actually had a problem. 😢

I cried listening to this. I found Nf a few months ago and honestly he has helped me so much. I can relate to most of his songs. I don't really know how to express myself through words so when I listen to him I feel better but I also can't. I'm 15 years old and my mom has been dealing with me for 4 years. I stopped cutting for awhile but I did it once a few weeks ago and now I can't stop. I cant tell my mom. She is already stressed she doesnt need anymore stress, especially from her oldest daughter. I want to help people with mental illness but I don't know if I ever will be able to. I can't even help myself. Which honestly I was doing really good a few years ago. I didnt cut for 2 years and then something happened. I attempted suicide again and ended up back in the hospital for 2 weeks. Things went downward from there. My dad is super abusive so he wasnt really happy about that. He's trying to stop (i think) I hope he is. He wants me to be a certain way which I'll never be. I don't know how to tell him that. I'm really trying. I try everyday to keep it together but it gets harder everyday. If you are going through this. I'm so sorry. Don't let anyone tell you its not that hard. It is. So i'm 12 year old now and i was abused at around 6 and my sister was 5 we ended up in foster care and and iv'e been with them for 2 years almost 3 and my bio mom just got her rights taken away to see me and my sister and my depression got so bad that i was hospitalized for a week and stared having anxiety attacks a lot and it was so bad i had some thoughts about ending it but i realized i had to live for my sister she has bipolar were pretty sure and i used to cut. i really feel like your music connects to me so well this really helps me so much and you are so amazing i love that you talk about real life problems and i love you so much and i love that you rap about your problems and passions it just amazes me so much.

Without finding his music I would be way worse than I am right now and probably wouldn’t be here right now.
