I love band niyah is going to enjoy it!! I play saxophone and I love it also clarinet , flutes , be in my class as well because they are apart of the woodwinds!!
Niya put your tip tongue at the top of your mouth and 2 front teeth before you put the clarinet in your mouth, that’s what helps you blow. Your band teacher will teach you that soon! I love the loc extensions on you! 😍😍😍
Can you give us another loc update??? I’m most definitely thinking about locing my hair up and wanting to know how you feel about them & what all do you do to take care of them? Love your channel btw ❤️❤️
Omg niyah playing that clarinet mad me want to join the band again . But niyah was supposed to lick the reed and make sure it’s wet before putting it on the mouth piece . That’s how you make the noise .
I’m so excited for Niyah’s band journey! I’ve been in band playing the saxophone for 11 years! This year is my last year in college band. It’s so much fun! Wishing her the best 🤍!
Great to see Niyah learning to play an instrument I played violin from 5th grade until 12th grade and thinking about buying one it helps to learn a lot of different things growing up.
Yeap they are way to Commercial they fell off years ago in my book. Local businesses are way better. Got a Jamacian spot close to the job. When I say gourmet cooking I mean just that. 7 dollar lunch specials with a drink included is just amazing. Golden Crust should be ashamed of themselves.
I played the clarinet from 4th to high-school I am now a freshman in college. seeing Niyah put her's together and her excitement brought back memories.
Omg I’m so glad Niyah chose the clarinet!! I’ve played it since 5th grade and I’m a senior now so it’s been a while. I have just a few tips for her so that learning how to play the clarinet goes a little smoother: 1. Before you put the reed on the mouth piece, wet it, either by putting the thinner half in your mouth or by wetting it with water. I suggest just putting it in your mouth for convenience and because it will end up in your mouth anyway when you play. 2. When you put the reed on the mouthpiece make sure there is no gap near the top. If there is, you will get that “spitty” or breathy sound and the tone of the music will not be very good. (Tone: clear, steady and high quality sound. Basically when you have a good tone, the sound your clarinet makes should have those qualities. It will get better with time and practice so don’t worry about that too much right now) 3. Try not to puff out your cheeks when you play. When you first start out, your cheeks might hurt a little bit while/after playing, but over time it should get easier. It may feel better to play with puffed cheeks when you first start out but when you begin playing higher notes it’ll be easier to play with tight, flat cheeks. 4. HAVE FUN AND PRACTICE! So many of my friends dropped out of band because they didn’t think they were good enough. But getting “good” just comes with time and practice. Try learning how to play some of you favorite songs, it’ll make the process so much more fun! I know you are just starting out, but I’m already so excited to see you learn how to play. It really brought back good memories. You’ll meet so many friends and have so many great experiences through band class! Stick with it! You don’t have to want to be a musician in the future to learn how to play an instrument, it can be a fun thing to do when you’re bored or if you’re like me, who’s singing voice is pretty bad, it can help you express yourself musically. Ok I’m done now…you’ll do amazing!!!
Fun fact: i have asthma and it can get really bad but i played the flute in middle school and trumpet in highschool😂😆 my pulmonary care doctor was always amazed my mom loved that i played in the band but it was the practicing at home when i first started that she wasn't a fan of. You know tryna get the right pitch and it squeaked and sounded terrible. But as i perfected my craft she didn't mind it at all. I was so good, for the trumpets i played taps for veterans day . and those notes are hard to achieve but i did it and loved it
Hey, I play clarinet and I’m in 7th grade and I played in the 6th grade but I’m in advanced band 😝. Can you let Niyah know to not apply cork grease everyday, because her joints will be so loose that they will fall off and break.
Ok Niyah, go off beautiful! I loved when my kids played the their instruments. My son played the saxophone and my daughter the violin. Now they don’t even look at those instruments. Lol
You also wanna get your reed wet by your mouth or some water for 1-2 minutes to avoid squeaking :) I been playin clarinet for 9 years I go to high school for performing arts band
I used to play the clarinet in elementary and middle school, let niyah know she doesn’t have to use the cork grease everytime, and also I don’t think she pushed the top part all the way down because no matter how hard she blew music should’ve came out without the blowing sound she got
