    How to replace the transformer in a Kitchenaid Artisan kettle.
    My Kitchenaid kettle 5KEK1522 baseplate overheats due to a faulty transformer.
    New transformer, Ebay:
    www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Transforme...
    ... or google: bv el 3032801
    Check if your Kettle is equipped with a similar transformer before ordering.

    Big thanks to @Connie
    Just replaced my transformer as shown in the video. Kettle now working perfectly.
    Previously used to randomly cut out mid boil.

    5:50 Sauber - typisch weiblich. 😉 (Der Netzstecker sieht deutsch aus.) Gute Reparatur!

    Hi Connie changed the transformer but the power is not coming on at all any idea what I have done wrong or what the problem may be

      Sorry, it's not easy to answer that from here. But if there was power before you changed the transformer, I would think that it is the wrong transformer, wrongly connected transformer or that the new one is broken, or has been destroyed due to strong heat during the soldering process.

    Hello,I was wondering if you could help me with my problem. Every time I turn on my kettel it just starts to blink lights and nothing else happens! Do you Know what is wrong with it?!

      No unfortunately. I have not had that problem yet, so I have not researched it 🤔

      Hi Reza, did you find a solution to your problem? I have the same problem and I'm thinking that replacing the transformer, as shown in this video, will also rectify my (our) fault. What do you think?

      The heating element has failed. I'm on the third (touch wood) longest lasting Artisan kettle. Mine now has a problem with the temp setting slider after water got into the base, I just came here to find out how to take it apart 👍🏻

    Hi Connie, great video!
    I expect my transformer is broken too and needs replacement.
    I searched for the "BV EI 3032801" transformer. But I noticed my transformer has the values: Pro 230v, Sec 10.0v and 100mA. I can find transformers with 230v/10.0v but they all are 150mA.
    (I could find one with 100mA, but its a few mm's too long to fit to the PCB)
    What would you advise me?

      It is unfortunately a typical problem with these, but otherwise it is a very good kettle. I haven't had any problems with it since.

      @@ConnieTh Thnx Connie. Do you think I can replace the 100mA transformer with a 150mA?

    • @ConnieTh

      I think so. It is the kettle that determines how much current it draws. The transformer only delivers, so it doesn't deliver too much even though it can deliver more. It is important that the voltage is correct.

    My kettel has exactly the same problem. Only one side of the plate stays warm always.

    • @ConnieTh
      @ConnieTh  3 года назад +1

      It should not be warm at all. I forgot to disconnect it once and the table was extremely hot. After the repair I leave it connected all the time 👍

      @@ConnieTh i was wondering, maybe it has thermos function that it keeps the water always warm. How i can find a transformator like that? You repair it like its so easy😀 i ve no tools like you have.

    • @ConnieTh
      @ConnieTh  3 года назад +2

      @@nicochoco4881 no it does not have a "thermos" function 🤔
      You may have a friend who can help you? The part is quite cheap and can be bought many places. I have put a link in the description under the video. If you are in the US just google the number. But first you have to check that you have the same part in your kettle.
