Karen you are a "lovely one" too !!! Great job with the loader!!! Well done!!! I pray you are feeling better?!!??!! Please, please be careful and God bless you and yours!!!! Eddy
Great video again Karen! I've been with you from the beginning and you're great company every thursday and many Sunday evenings on my own farm. I loved the long video full of great info. Thanks for inviting us in and good luck in the mart. I hope you can sneak us in there too 😊👍
You did a great job with the loader and you work so hard cleaning the barn area. Hope the cattle bring a very good price!!!!! Love watching your videos.
Always a pleasure Karen, you are very conscientious and do a great job, keep safe and keep warm.Hope all the family are well now, good luck and best wishes ❤
Hi Karen, You did a great job with the stacking of the straw. You are making the right decision to take the cattle to the mart. They will do very well. It's the place to go, even with finished cattle. I bet you that the 2 of you will be very pleased after it.
Well done Karen, on stacking your straw vou did a cracking job , another great reason to have a loader, get yourself some storm rat bait and set up some bait stations in your shed that will get rid of those rats.
Hi Karen that was a great job with your cattle and great job with them to and your looking after them will to so keep up the good work with them to and it's hard to with all your cattle ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I know everyone has preferences when it comes to youtube but I love the fact you talk so much throughout your videos it makes them fly by and much more fun imo . The rat must be getting nuts too it was thick fat xD
👀🙄🐾👍Great video Karen the cattle are looking good it will be interesting to see what the analysis of your silage is with wet silage you have to feed them more Your getting the hang of using the loader on the 390
You're getting very handy with the front loader, fair play to ya. Just in relation to the rain blowing into the shed where the straw is, would you consider putting up the green netting? I reckon itd be a help 👍🏼
Thank you so very much Karen for inviting us all to come sit at your kitchen table as You, Rob and your Dad make plans! Really interesting to hear all of the levels of thought that go into marketing your animals, watching their weight gains if any, deciding what might be the negatives of the feed and also celebrating the positives too! I very much appreciate your relationship with your Dad in debating and discussing what works and who is right! 😉 Reminds me of my Dad but what a wonderful sidekick he was! One thing I learned from him was you do not need Two Pilots to fly one plane!🤣 LQQKING forward to The Mart Video too! I'm STILL laughing at "Ratatouille" MOO From Across The Pond In COW-lumbus, Ohio Keep Smiling & Strutting 👋
Ole Sheehan is doing everything he can to stay. You're going to catch him doing yoga in the back of the pen one day. LOL. I'm also very terrified when moving my hay and straw because in Alabama we have lots of s.n.a.kes. I'm even too scared to type the word properly because I don't want videos of them popping up in my feed. LOL. Good on you and Rob for being able to get the car out. We have ice coming next week, and I doubt I will go anywhere. Again, south Alabama just isn't well versed in ice and snow so folks get a little wild on the road.
I was in the contracting game for a while, It's hard to please every customer all the time. The weather causes delays and the que of work backs up. It's the luck of the draw. You are doing well. keep up the good work. Jim in NZ.
Was just thinking when you were cleaning the straw if there was rats in it then you screamed, that confirmed it 😂 your cattle look great considering your disappointed in there weights. Your getting used to that loader now 👍
When your fattening ya need to give plenty of a high maize meal. We feed all our factory cattle buffalo beef nuts from smyths in Donegal and get great weights on it. But we ad-lib most of them in the shed. Also no silage worth a dam for any fattening mainly straw to make them eat the meal
i agree 100 % dry silage late may first june cut we find best results for weight gain wilt it if possible speeds up drying contractors all been pushed same few days cause of weather its hard on every partie great work ur cattle are shineing well done
Here in North America we don't like to see round bale silage above 45% moisture I always left mine cut for three days when the grass is young. I had dairy so I did mostly chopped up feed for bunkers early. How we found it was easier to make round bales later when the grass is more mature it dries way faster mid June here for balage for dry cows and young stock
Good to see u looking fit and well again 👍 I should be able to advise u about gaining weight, I flippin put enough on over Christmas !!! Cracking job with the loader, ur a real pro now. Cheers, Poth.
Good evening Karen Thank you for sharing another update with us all You looked done, whilst discussing the weights, please don't put additional pressure on yourself, farming is hard enough, self criticism is always the harshest Bless ya, you didn't scream as loud as i would have done, hate rats, I feel like Alfred Hitchcocks, The Birds, I've squashed that many, dropping manhole covers when they've poked the heads out of the drains, sure they're out to terrorise me lol You seem to be growing in confidence with the loader, well done you Had confidence in you for sure Our snow, 100 - 125mm, took 11 day's to clear, Take care young lady Geoff
You will get on well at the mart them cattle cos they are super cattle. If you have room for that heifer as a cow i think then you should keep her when you like her. Great job stacking the bales.
class video my only question is its snowing you need food and you have a tractor ? but you go out in your car, is the little buggy thing not 4x4 as well are they not legal on the road.
Hi Karen. Great video yet again. Cattle are in great shape . I involved in a tractor run from mizen to malin head in aid of daisy lodge cancer care unit for kids and two other charities and i was wondering if you have a email that i could contract you on . We just trying to get as much of a push as possible as we starting it on 29 January. Six tractors 5 135 and 145 massey Ferguson o and they all have no cabs so going to be cold . Thanks
Great cattle I would love that heifer as a cow she would produce cracking calves better off going to the mart hopefully you get what you're looking for then
Always sell in the mart Karen whether weanling or factory fit . Let the agents buy them in the ring . Your Dad is correct on the feed values for your stock Protein for growth . Energy for finishing . 100 days before finishing date .
There's a lot less proof in this years silage. The wet spring probably didn't help. The best performance that I ever got from finishing cattle was feeding 3kgs of rolled barley and 3kgs or rolled maize meal. There were 2 cheap ingredients and they are the best for fattening. You will get on great with them, You won't be crying after the day, maybe evening having a glass of champagne. 😂
I say this in a real good, sweet way. You are the cutest, little lady.!! I look at all of your videos that you do on the farm, I enjoy your videos!!

Just advice for working with the loader . Use a bale on the back as a counter weight. It's a lot safer .

Hi Karen. ❤ Great loading skills ❤
Have you thought about adding some straw though your silage as this will help with counteracting the moisture
Yes we have done that as well 👍
Nicely done, they’re stacked the finest.

No never tried it. We wouldn't do it ourselves and I wouldn't know anyone around here that does it
Some beef farmers around Kilkenny use potatoes and carrots

😂😂😂😂😂, poor rat is just looking for a warm spot out of the snow 😂😂😂😂😂
How many kgs a head a day of finishing ration do you feed ?
Make sure you keep well with food fill the freezer
Top class loader driver now, fair play. Those weights on ur cattle aren't that bad Karen. If ur second cut silage is drier give it to them cattle
There's a lot less proof in this years silage.
The wet spring probably didn't help.
The best performance that I ever got from finishing cattle was feeding 3kgs of rolled barley and 3kgs or rolled maize meal. There were 2 cheap ingredients and they are the best for fattening.
