Some pieces of info are a bit incorrect. Going to note them as I go through the video: 1. The Golden Baby Roshan didn't have the standard ethereal + prismatic combo you see today when it first came out; it got added in the patch where Valve made customizing unusual couriers possible (being able to transfer gems between unusuals or killing a courier for its gems) 2. There's a lot more golden baby roshans out there than the official supply due to Russian steam support duping (ie: people pretended to be scammed and got a dupe made of their item) - a notorious user called Crab back in the days infamously duped a single cycle 3 Golden Baby Roshan 38 times. 3. There's definitely not an equal number of Golden Baby Roshans and Platinum Baby Roshans. So golden Baby Roshans had 5 cycles of drops of 10 while Platinum the Platinum Baby Roshan had 15 cycles of drops of 10 (you can go up to cycle 15 for a cycle PBR but only up to Cycle 5 for a GBR). While there's a lot of GBR's via duping, there's a lot more non-cycle PBR's that were dropping "accidentally?" through the crafting system. You can have "base pbr's", standard "unusual" obr's and cursed pbr's - all with the ionic vapor gem but with midas gold instead of pristine platinum (which is exclusive to the cycle pbr) 4. The Ice and Lava Baby Roshans also dropped every subsequent benefactor treasure for 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. 5. Some dude did a steam inventory parse, Dark Moon ~80 in existence, Desert Sands ~50 in existence. Fun fact - I actually got the Desert Sands Baby Roshan visual effect fixed when a dev reached out to me on reddit when I pointed it out in a bug mega thread post. 6. The Gingerbread Roshan was actually released for a total of 3 times, once in 2018, once in 2019, and now in 2023. 7. 160 Aghanim's Roshans exist from winning - there were 4 time zone blocks of 4 teams, and 10 instances of the competition. So each week 16 players earned it, for a total of 160. I think the "random winning team" getting one was released week 2 or 3 after complaints, so there's probably around 300 of them in total. Fun fact, at the time during the event and the months after, the Aghanim's Roshan was actually consistently dropping in value - it hit ~600-700$ cash value at one point before it eventually started rebounding. There was another scare in 2021 in the Aghanim's battlepass, where it was speculated to return. 8. Fun fact about the Aghanim's Roshan is that it has different effects depending on if you're on Radiant or Dire. Overall, very fun video - glad to see someone spreading the general lore of Baby Roshans while I'm trying to sell my collection!
Thanks so much for the comment, I did note a few of these editing but decided not to include edits, GBR, Trust of Benefactor, I show both styles of Aghs in the video somewhere. Most of this info is so dated I struggled to find the little I did in archives, all the info I got was gathered in current day so there's a lot of incorrect sources out there. Also because Valve in the early years was just overwriting their domains, so the original diretide info is incredibly difficult to find, especially specifics that only affected 100 items. I definitely expected to have some gaps in my knowledge here, and also not have enough knowledge to understand where those might be. I was doing this research myself and thought it was worth documenting what I was able to find from today's standpoint.
@@Monte_Carlo451 yeah honestly the “dress up mechanics” on dota are another level to TF2 or frankly any other game I’ve ever seen. The update where you have access to try on and mix any cosmetic in the game just to test what they look like before you buy them was absolutely insane.
there is a big issue with dubbing items the one that i know is legacy coloring gem, i used to buy exotic stuffs in dota2, and there was a site to check if the legacy gems were Dubbed? or there were more than 1 copy- but i think legacy suppose to be unique, and that combined with the spreading rumour that the chinese were dubbing keys- which was the trading currency a long time ago so the fact that items can be dubbed, its not appealing to collect rare items anymore to me and the platinum roshan has variant of midas gold not the pristine platinum- i dont remember exactly why, possibly also a dubbling controversy or different event reward i am friend with a guy that has buying bots on stm market, he had several success purchases over the midas gold gem and pristine platinium gem, and he said its highly a variant of dubbing items i dont know about the present scene of how the dev can monitor this dubbing issue. so investing few thousands for newer roshan can still be iffy
a mythical version of paltinum baby roshan dropped after normal game for the first day of the event and was fixed ASAP so platinum baby rosh its more than 140 in market but yes 140 exists from the daily cycles rests are valves glorious mistake
Yeah I have a couple things slightly wrong on the very early babyrs. Relevant info was very tough to find in today’s date and a lot of sources are just flat out wrong and cite each other so they’re all quoting the same wrong source and I’ve just done the same thing :) Thanks for the comment
It means that the Roshan was created from crafting. Only the Plat Roshans won from the sugar rush competition had pristine platinum, all other roshans made from crafting/drops (it was a legendary status so it dropped for a time) had the Midas gold gem.
I think it depends on how rare they are and sell the price in however they wish. Personally i think it's ridiculous to charge people thousands. Any rare items should cost less than 20$ for something you will never own and it's all digital.

why some of PBR has midas gold prismatic gem?
You can always replace a gem, it just means that a GBR was euthanized for it's gem and swapped.
It means that the Roshan was created from crafting. Only the Plat Roshans won from the sugar rush competition had pristine platinum, all other roshans made from crafting/drops (it was a legendary status so it dropped for a time) had the Midas gold gem.
I think it depends on how rare they are and sell the price in however they wish. Personally i think it's ridiculous to charge people thousands. Any rare items should cost less than 20$ for something you will never own and it's all digital.
