- IT companies like Infosys, Wipro and TCS lays off more employees. America's new policies is the primary reason for this as offshore business is getting difficult. IT professionals shares their grievances in this interview.
Now is the right time! Our government should work with these private companies and use this experienced and talent work force in empowering the e-Governance service throughout the country (under Digital India). All government bodies should be fully computerised with the applications in the local language. The general public SHOULD NOT meet the government officials at all. Every interaction should be through online, mobile app, public kiosks, internet cafes, call centers via ticket tracking system. This should be implemented 100% in all government bodies. This will eradicate bribery & corruption and brings transparency in all government processes and services, eventually the quality will be improved. This will automatically lead way for more manufacturing and production units in all sectors and will increase employment. Along with this transparent system, government should encourage innovative entrepreneurship ventures and bring banks as investment partners (not as loan vendors). Every innovative thought should be recognized, funded, incubated and turned into an employment/industry. By this way every sector (including farming and agriculture) will flourish. This can be implemented in next five to eight years if taken in full-fledged. I bet, if government think they can do this. They definitely have funds for this. They even can put a special budget for this I would say!

The real problem is,core sectors job opportunities are very less so people move to IT ,i know a instrumentation engineer working for 12k in bpo and i know a bcom grad working for 83k in same bpo as manager,here all education same only difference is what job you get initially

Password policy is followed strictly in MNCs. If anyone else is aware then the concerned person qualifies for disciplinary action. Experienced guys will not show much interest to learn latest technologies. IT is all about technical knowledge and willingness to get upgraded
U can be experienced but you got to be updated to survive in it. U can be best performer today but u will be outdated in matter of days..

In Dubai any type of company ,if they terminate their employees they should pay 3 months of salary, this is the rule over there , so this rule should apply in India also.

correct. Dont spend much. I'm in IT for last 13 years. I'm not sure how many more years can I sustain. But I have saved 1.4 Crore Cash, 2.5 Crores worth assets( Land and house) and 1 car. 15K/month rent income and loan of 15 Lakhs. I think I can survive by doing some extra business.

In HCL technologies many managers above E3.1 Bands
1.they are not billable ,
2.they will come around 11 am ,
3. will leave for tea 11.30 to 12 pm, 4.come back 1.30 hrs for email check and
5.again lunch @ 2 pm
6. 2.15 pm onwards email checking, some personal on share trading check and again they will leave at 5.30 saying traffic will me more after 6 pm so leaving early
7. They never to coding and all
8. They never upgrade any skills
9. They will threaten 3 exp to 13 exp people saying of u r not delivering on time then will report to HR and throw u out of the company
10. Many of the managers like these sitting idle since 10 years
11. Management should take some actions on these managers

Dont think like working in a IT company is a govt job. It is still a private holder. All current IT employees need to save 40%-50% of your income per month and invest in savings scheme like FD, RD and bonds. So during hard times it will help you to plan your own small scale business or if you have worked for 15 to 20 years it can be used for investing in savings scheme for monthly income
Use them for agricultural automation And marketing so that we can provide good service to farmers who is backbone of everything. ... Automatic bill collection in bus ticketing... Automatic voting linked with aadhar...smart class in automation of agriculture to school students etc....

i don't know the depth of IT field I am a core professional , but as far my.exp in 10 years , Pharma oil and gas, steel and manufacturing engineering professional have good value while exp grows even while switching jobs too. This is not IT vs core topic
.. all i want to say is dear freshers please do not join IT only for the initial pay and lucrative lifestyle. Another dangerous thing nowadays many colleges do is to achieve their placement target they mentally prepare the student to take up the IT career. Its easy for them because most IT orgs are based in chennai itself and they don't need to take effort by arranging a call of company from other sates like MH AP and GJ. they are starved of tech professionals .

O, then what about the unemployed engineers who are still not able to find employment even in the age of 28 to 30. Why only IT people. IT people have already enjoyed their rosy days, whereas engineering graduates are still pathetically seeking jobs for RS.8000/6000.

All these companies get contract with US companies. In US they hand off projects to offshore companies mostly on operations and maintenance stage this forms the major chunk of revenue for these companies (Though sometimes spirited architects bid for solid development jobs it’s just 10-15%)
O and M work is vastly automated and they want to cut down costs. All companies mentioned here, work in same fashion, so less maintenance leads to less resource requirement to lesser middle managers who basically should have exited these companies before getting to that stage. Your college campus company cannot be your destination to retire. World is changing, re skill and move on. Strict employment policies will take existing jobs too out of India. Corporates go wherever salary is less, it can be Philippines or Zimbabwe next ( I have worked in 3 big Indian majors)

BPO jobs (for that matter all sector jobs) are in a way indirectly linked to IT so if IT is affected slowly BPO and other sector jobs also would be affected

do you know how hard it is finding and recruiting good/knowledgeable developers in these days ? it is very hard. i agreed that these technically talented developers(particularly IITians /NITians) are little arrogant. becuase they are talented and alpha males. so they won't afraid about for anyone weather it is managers or Team Leads. they won't do any bitter/butter to managers or Team Leaders under desk. but they will do better work than the normal employees.
once if they(technically talented developers) get irritated by these managers and TeamLeaders, then they simply quit.quitting is not a problem for Company .
but they start their own company/ product and directly do competition with his previous organizations.
similar like Flipkart is doing against Amazon . even flipkart is not allowing amazon to enter into this huge population e'commerce markets in india.
so TCS understood this issue so TCS start to firing these bitter/butter group, which consisting useless managers and team leaders.

BPO jobs (for that matter all sector jobs) are in a way indirectly linked to IT so if IT is affected slowly BPO and other sector jobs also would be affected
Only thing is they are concentration of IT industry job losses now

When some people are reluctant to update themselves to the changing tech in information technology then it's difficult for them to survive. Blaming AI and Machine learning for job loss will not help us
