Absolutely amazed by the amount of cordage you make. You always seem to pull some out of nowhere
Lol rufo reminds me of Oro my south American golden gato I had over there.. so glad to still have the videos!
It's funny when he's so bored he wants to lay on the product and get your attention and just be part of it lol
Dog fur is actually 80% warmer and is more elastic than sheeps wool
I looked into this before and found out many people actually make sweaters out of their best friends fur
Of all the things that i have learned over the 28 years of my life, never have I thought about using dog fur for clothing X”D
I did not know that. That is very interesting. I'm sure that those qualities vary among different breeds.
No wonder Cruella wanted those Dalmatians!
@@Tarboy Hahahahaha! Good one!
@@Raybro16 Chiengora (making clothes out of shed dog fur) is a really interesting art in and of itself a lot of talented people make some fantastic quality pieces
The craziest thing about your videos is that you respond to every comment. You have my respect for all the time you spend on videos.
lol
I try but can’t respond to all of them. Fortunately I just saw your comment. Have a blessed day?
@@ChadZuberAdventures Thank you Chad. Don't feel pressured to, I think I can speak on behalf of the whole community that it's completely fine. Have a great day too!

The amount of work and ingenuity required to make these is insane. Much respect!
It is all time. It's not hard but just requires a lot of time.
22:08 Love how he begs for more huggies 🥰
He loves to cuddle.
From hammock to shirt. You did a beautiful job on the shirt - and designing the loom to make it on. You make it look easy but that is only because of the amount of time you spent planning and designing both the loom and shirt. Coming up with the right raw materials that you used was a feat in itself. Thx for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us. 👍👍👍👍👍
I thought about this for a long time. I wanted to source 100% of the materials but I realized that would take a very long time to make.
Im always amazed by your mental fortitude, to work hard and finish stuff when there is such a cute and good boy begging for belly rubs... im sure i would starve to death because of his fluffy tummy :')
This project actually took me 1.5 days longer than I expected. I just had to let it go and invest the time needed. Our food and water was running out and while I could go foraging for food and water that would have greatly delayed me finishing the shirt so we ate and drank very little the third day and the last day we only drank a little water. I never plan fasts. They just happen involuntarily.
Amen! 😎 Absolutely agree! I am always in awe of Chad's work ethic, consistency and persistency.
While time consuming the shirt looks to be really sturdy. Very interesting ❤
The vibe of your videos is immaculate, I haven’t found anyone else who can make a video that makes me feel like this!
Your videos have me intrigued, but also calmed. The colours are usually calm and under saturated, very pleasing to the eyes in a world of bright and eye catching primary colours.
You don’t cut out the beautiful in-betweens and blissful nothings that occur in life, like the wind blowing leaves, the calm of doing a monotonous task in the wind while observing the environment dancing around, and travelling through the quiet desert back to your tent, as the dust blows.
It’s like I’m observing the unremarkable moments of the past laid bare before me, unremarkable moments that very few bothered to document and share. it’s these moments of blissfulness and peace, that can be shared in video in a way unlike a story could ever be.
It’s a work of art, really.
And the dog’s hair is just enough for warm socks😁
Yes! That is what I need to make next.
I know just enough about weaving and making raw cordage to know how hard this must have been. Your shirt looks great! Well done!❤️🐝🤗
It's not really hard, it just takes a very looooooong time.
You are an absolute master of these primitive crafts Chad, that loom is amazing - your patience, attention to detail and execution of these pieces is so inspiring dude, thank you for sharing. I always love imagining primitive cultures doing exactly what you are, seeing how it’s all possible!
Thanks! I'm still learning.
It's like a dog that looks like a ball of yarn and a girl who makes her own loom.
That sweater is definitely original😊
Hahaha, so original indeed.
These a part, like a 2" wide board that is used to push the yarn down to make the weave tighter. I don't know what it's called but it would certainly help you. I love that you used the dog's fur! Good recycling!👍🏼🐶💖
It's called a "machete" in Mexico.
You are an allrounder and today you even became a fashinon designer. It looked good. Respect. Have a great day.
I like how it turned out too. Thanks.
the sheer hours it took to make the cordage is mindbending. incredible
It's ridiculous.
@@ChadZuberAdventures you really should consider doing time lapse recordings when you do time intensive tasks, it would really help people put into perspective what it actually happening in terms of time. if not the whole task, maybe sections of it just for reference.
@@kekipark77 It's just a lot of wear and tear on my camera. Every click of the camera is one click closer to it breaking.
@@ChadZuberAdventures what about using ur phone just for time lapse shots?
@kekipark77 I don’t even know if my phone can do Timelapse.
bro the thumbnail is a bit off lmaoo
Scared thinking he would turn the dog into a coat
well, maybe your mind or imagination is a bit off. i didn't even think about what apparently you saw in the thumbnail - namely killing the dog...
Watch the video, bro. Bro Bro bro bro.
That thought never crossed my mind. That's so funny how people have such different perceptions.
And here I saw a "Pokemon Evolution" kind of thing... lol xD

This guy looks great with his new hairstyle.. he deserves more recognition.. his ideas on primitive staff are awesome
I like the hair much better now too. Thank you!
That's an incredible feat Chad!!! I'm always amazed at your primitive craftsmanship truly an art for the ages.
Thank you!
I had an golden retriever (*29.11.2005-13.03.2021)
He had this long silky smooth coat that needed shearing in the summers, or he would had heatstrokes. So i used his shorn fur for pillow stuffing...best pillow in my life...
That's awesome! Such a great way to preserve his memory.
Yeah, Hairpillows are awesome, they can be washed and dried, are soft as a wet dream and hold long...there is only one major problem, that the hair tends to clump and knot when not maintained...
@@ChadZuberAdventures You can make a dog fur pillow. :)
Hi Chad I love that you have your cute puppy dog back in the video.
He loves going on adventures
thanks Roofo for your contribution :) ♥
Woof! Woof!
That open weave might leave Chad a little chilled in cold winter winds, but will help keep him cool if he's going through temperature swings into warmer ranges and back. Conversely, by putting on a windproof barrier (such as the buckskin), the open weave will actually trap and hold quite a lot of body heat, and just getting out of the wind will help do the same thing. This is why the ability to put on or take off layers, ideally each with a different quality, is more important than chosing a single piece of clothing to try to cover all your needs. No one tool will work optimally in all situations, but a variety of tools, ideally each with multiple uses, will help cover a wide range of needs.
You're 100% right. I thought about that too. I plan to make more clothes but I can also cover myself with the buckskin for even more warmth.
Thank you Chad. Very interesting and informative. I appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos.
Thank you!

Wow, that shirt looks fantastic! I would never accomplish that, a lot of knowledge and practice is needed. Nice video, thank you, Chad!
It was a looooong project. But I'm happy with it.
Great efforts and well spent time. This shows how things have been made before our modern day technologies and surely takes time, practice and the right tools-materials. I liked how your doggo went and own the fabric you made maybe he needs also one too.
Hahaha, I think I will make a sweater for Rufo.
Love to Rufo, more than just mans best friend ❤
Your loom was a work of art in its own right.
Your jerkin reminds me of Clint Eastwood's poncho in the Spaghetti Westerns....How cool are you!
I was thinking to make a poncho too. That would be cool but I would need a lot more material.
The creative ways you make cordage is a great lesson in using any materials you have about you! I really enjoy and learn from your vids. I am trying to make cordage from dried milkweed stem now.
The loom was fascinating! Another project in my list now!
Also, already have a Bluetti and love it. Thanks.
Oh, and the woven shirt looks really cool! Great skills!
Let me know how that milkweed works. I've never used it. Yucca is really stiff. I'd like to find another plant source to make yarn... I'm glad you enjoy the Bluetti.
I’ll let you know. Cheers.

i do love how pupper was like, awe dad a new bed, but listened so well. good dog dad points. other wise this video is amazing. and i did some textiles in hs at a vocational school. its weird how familiar it was that you were doing that i remembered, thank you sir. good teacher spreading good learning
ooof got to the part where pupper wanted to be close while you closed off the weave, mine sneezes on me while i work remote via the internet. i feel it
also your close ups on nots are always effing amazing
I have very little experience with textiles but I've always loved to watch how people in rural villages in Mexico would make beautiful textiles. I'm happy I started to practice.
Hi Chad, I'm from Brazil 🇧🇷 and I'm a big fan of yours, I hope one day to learn everything about survival like you

Actually, that is the healthiest coyote I have ever seen.
It was a beautiful coyote. Rufo is fearless but clearly wouldn't be a match against that coyote.
@@ChadZuberAdventures Clearly.
Nice work Chad, normally dogs don't belong in the workplace but in this case it would be an exception!
Hahaha, I agree.
You can make some kind of buttons ("duffle coats" or brooches) in the side seam. In my opinion, this will be more convenient than lacing.
Originally I thought to do that. I will do other designs in the future.
great vid. I love how you are off grid but you embrace practical tech to make it possible.
Great video. I admire your skills. 😀🖖👍
This is so cool! I love primitive/ancient fiber arts! Though I have to say, Rufo stole the show somewhat 😆
He always does 🤣
sceard me with the thumbnail
thats a very interesting loom design usually i use rocks to weigh the cloth or wool down when im using a loom but it is cool to see a different method for making clothes using different looms
I think there are several different techniques. I'm not saying that my technique is even that good but it works with the materials I used.
@@ChadZuberAdventures oh of course there are many different techniques its just that ive never seen a loom design like that before but seeing how the final product turned out id say its pretty good
Chad, you have the same issues trying to work from home with your pet preventing you from working 🤣🤣🤣❤ Poor Rufo, he just wants scritches. You have patients for days, Chad! But again an inspiration for my own projects.
Hahahaha, Rufo just steals the show every time.
@@ChadZuberAdventures Indeed he does! Very sweet little soul that ❤️
Your videos are very entertaining
Hi ... Chad, as always love to watch your video ! If you had a tool namely a comb ( use to comb your hair everyday ) to press down the horizonal thread weaved by the shuttle, this will increase the density of your " cloth ". As the higher the density, more temperature can be kept thus you will feel warmer. Just a small suggestion and hope it would do some good to your weaving.
❤ thanks for all you do Chad another great video.
Thanks for watching!
Truly strong minded
lol that is Ruffos made just for him .. my dogs have done that before when I was making a bubble quilt for my Grand Daughter
Rufo owns everything. I own nothing. Hahaha!
I enjoy watching your video, thank you❤
Thank you too
So quality video
May God Bless You Always!
God bless you!
I gotta say I love watching you use these primitive techniques, I can't wait to see you make a badass hat, socks and pants to match the shirt...
It really is amazing to see how the primitive people overcame major problems, the absolutely genius techniques developed to overcome the hardships of simple life. Our Ancestors were absolute badasses and developed some amazing technology out of thin air to overcome the hardships they faced...
Not gonna lie, I'd love to see you develop a mini village with a few other badass primitive youtubers... its just crazy to think that people back in they day just developed these techniques out of thin air. Most people think primatives were nothing but big dumb Neanderthals but they came up with some of some of most used technology today, back when there was nothing... no youtube, no internet, no books... just coming up with brilliant ideas out of nowhere to overcome the obstacles of life. 110% absolute badasses, without them we wouldn't have so many things we take for granted in our lives.
Human nature is to conquer, improve the quality of our lives, secure our lives, etc. It's a very interesting history to explore.
@@ChadZuberAdventures it sure is... our ancestors were absolute geniuses and we really don't give them enough credit.
You should consider making a primitive crochet hook Chad and using that to make a textile :)
That is a new skill I will have to learn.
@@ChadZuberAdventures I learned to crochet watching RUclips videos 😍
One year I lived outside in west Texas in knee high moccasins, kilt and a poncho. It was fun! Especially with fun cactus’ nearby 😉
Fun cactus nearby? Are you talking about chollas cactus? Chollas will definitely make your day fun! Hahhaah!
All you need now is a Starlink satellite dish and you’re all set!
You're right! Then I'd have little need to go to the city.
I think that's fantastic. It's been a long time since I did more than forge iron, and I miss it. There's nothing quite like tanning a hide, seeing that mess turn into some soft buckskin. If I ever get another dog, I'll make sure it's a breed that produces lots of hair just in case I ever need to weave me a shirt!
Hahhaha! Just making use of a material that most people would simply discard.
Rufo fait sa star 🤩maintenant qu'il est l'égérie de sa marque de vêtements 😀.
Merci rufo 😘
C'est exact!
Cool! I'm looking forward to watching the video later.
Cool idea to use multiple types of cordage. I thought that it would make everything harder, since they have difference in elasticity and some are probably less comfortable to wear, like some sweaters, being itchy. But interesting way to create clothes.
It's a little itchy but not enough to make me not wear it.
Kami sangat berharap kamu dan rufo selalu dalam lindungan allah taalla.
Not gonna lie this is an impressive showcase of resourcefulness. Thanks for the entertaining videos Señor Gigachad.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
RUFOOOO❤❤❤❤ I see Rufo likes the shirt😂 Nice shirt! That loom looks super complicated to me. Shared this video with my outdoor friends.
The loom is kind of complicated. I'm trying to think of a simpler way to do it.
Of course Rufo likes the shirt, it got a familiar sent to it
Might I suggest either a back strap loom or a weighted warp loom? Both would have been used by indigenous peoples and are in use today. The back strap loom is portable, easy to set up and can make a reasonable width and length of fabric. Don't know if twining was used in the west or southwest but was common in the east and northeast. Just a thought.
I've practiced with the back strap loom but it wouldn't work with this kind of yarn because this yarn is too delicate.
Приручение животных сыграло очень важную роль в эволюции людей,
Это очень верно.
Wow, absolutely great job man, you put so much work into such a small thing. Though I have a tip for you: This winter I was on a deserted island in the philippines and I found out that you can use "Palm Cloth(The fabric-like material that grows in the base of the palm leaves)" to make a flexible pant if you sew it together along the grains. Unfortunately I didn't have yucca on the island or any other strong fibered plant, so I couldn't make high quality string, but the pant turned out very nice anyways, I managed to swim, climb a small mountain, climb a palm tree (not one but 6) and run on the beach for around 30 minutes until it got torn apart, (Again because I didn't have good cordage) so I was pretty amazed by how good it held up.
If you find yourself near a palm tree that you can climb, I recommend checking it out, because this might just solve the problem with having to re-adjust it every time you equip it.
Tough, amazing video as always, keep up the good work!👍
Yes, I know that palm material very well. I've collected a few pieces from coconut palms to experiment with and it indeed can be used to make clothing. It's a little stiff though. You can make cordage from fibers of the same material or take fibers from the palm branch.
@@ChadZuberAdventures It is a little stiff yes, but because of the # composition if you pull it to one of the corners it becomes kind of like rubber-cloth and becomes stretchy, I didn't really have time or the tools to properly align the grains so it becomes stretchy, but I'm sure it's possible to do so.
👍
"-a Strong yet Silky-Soft Cordage." You didn't need to flex on us like that.
Love the videos Chad, Keep it up and stay safe.
Did my biceps hurt your eyes? 🤣
Thanks Chad, always an amazing learning experience watching your videos. The garment you've crafted looks nice and cozy. Yeah, Rufo is an expert in comfort. How did you know it was prickly pear juice? Great observation. I made use of a lot of prickly pears this year. I'm excited to share in the future.
@@ChadZuberAdventures I knew it was Prickly Pear juice because you where juicing them in a previous video when you were prepping all the fruits and drying them on the rocks. It also has a distinctive look with almost a hint of purple tinge to it, but not as dark red as beet juice!
@@josephbenton3471 You just know that I am a big fan of prickly pear.
it's peak humor a primitive Otzi the iceman type making an ad for solar powered batteries hahah
No kidding. Haah!
Speaking about Ötzi, it would be epic if Chad would make and use the equipment and clothing of Ötzi. There was a guy that had an equipment worthy of kit envy for more than 5300 years, i myself has made a an Ötzi style packframe of sallow wood instead of Hazel, with bag, ötzistyle quiver and the Ötzi style belt/fannypack

That is one cute shirt stealer haha 🥰
Hahahahah
Somehow it feels that taking that cordage and knitting it, would be faster and allow tighter weave - while allowing the fabric to be more stretchy.
That may be true. I will have to learn that skill.
Use of hair💇, thanks for telling it.
Always happy to see Rufo, and I gotta say: That's a nice shirt.
