Especially interesting was when Hector showed those receipts. Even receipts can be valuable because look at this news item. On Oct. 26, 1984 University student Michael Cole attended a basketball game alone, having been unable to find a friend to use the extra ticket he had purchased for $8.50. Thirty-eight years later, on Feb. 27, Cole, now 55, watched that spare ticket, which he had held onto as a keepsake, sell for $468,000 at auction! What was so special about that ticket? It just happens to be the Only-Known-Intact ticket from MIchael Jordan's debut game with the Chicago Bulls. So, Charles, can you imagine if someone has an Intact-ticket from the theatre-screening of Enter the Dragon? Makes you wonder how much that would fetch.
I really loved this and yes it did and does bring back awesome memories of the the everlasting foundations of youth and its ability to sustain us years after. Awesome video guys (Hector & Charles( Exciting and fun to watch.
Great Bruce Lee videos. Those were the days for Bruce Lee videos. Great art work on the cases. Thankyou Hector and Charles for this enjoyable Friday episode. Great weekend gents! ✌ Peace everyone and have fun collecting.👍 Congratulations Charles! Keep growing.👌
Thank you for these memories. As one who sprang from a “Black Bruce Lee Secret Society” in Philly, youngest of 8 with older bros who were Lee Zealots and formidable street fighters, I learned the art of becoming via self actualization. I recall my brother having a super 8 projector, or so I believed it was, one that could reflect the clips on a freaking wall or equivalent surface lol..
Activated Carbon your very welcome! Bruce Lee was an inspiration to us all! Thanks for sharing your story and subscribing to the channel! When were you first introduced to Bruce Lee? Have a great day and see you Friday for more Bruce Lee! ✌👌
@@CharlesDamianoBLC Man, great question. I was born in 67, so I was about 5 when my older brother taught me Martial Arts that could be applicable to the “hood”..and when I saw Bruce Lee in his Black Belt Magazines..lol..Man, I could go on for days speaking about the stories and brawlers, generating devastating blows by torquing the hip..in Philly, NYC and Jersey.. since there’s no longer secrets being kept :)..Bruce was 1st Gen Hip Hop and certainly attracted that element as he did all types of humans 1.0.. Ok enough ranting.. lol.. Again, Thank you.

Another great episode guys. My first introduction to Bruce Lee was on VHS. Unfortunately here in the UK they were heavily censored and it wasn't until dvd that we got to enjoy them uncut. I remember the 1st time I got my hands on my own Bruce Lee VHS box set. I was only 12 at the time so I asked an older lad who was shopping if he could get it for me. He said as its Bruce Lee he'll do it for me 😂 I can still remember the adrenaline rush I got when I finally got my hands on my own set of Bruce Lee films. I ran all the way home from the shop worried that security would come after me for being under age 😂 I don't suppose that copy of The Big Boss that Hector has contains any of the missing scenes does it? Keep up the great work guys 🐲
Mindin thanks for sharing your story and glad you enjoyed the show ! Unfortunately it doesn’t contain any missing scenes! Have a great weekend buddy!✌️👍
That’s what I’m talking about! It’s priceless memories like that which instantly come to mind when acquiring these old vintage pieces! I’m just hoping “security” doesn’t watch this episode and pay you a visit to confiscate your tapes! 🤣
Not long ago Hector and I were discussing these old VHS tapes and our old pop up VCR's LOL. I paid $1200 dollars in 1980 for my RCA pop up and was the first thing i ever financed hahahaha! Took me years to pay that off LOL. $60 is what i paid for my Return of the Dragon as well as Chinese Connection and i still have both. Do you remember when you thought that there could be nothing better than video tapes. The only Bruce Lee film I've seen in a cinema was Fist of Fury, Then I realised how much of the screen was cropped in the videos. But at the time they were the greatest thing available.
LOL Yes indeed! My first Video I ever purchased on VHS was Enter the Dragon and still have it! Hats off to you and Hector: great video. I recall renting out Bruce’s movies over here in the UK in the early eighties. They had different artwork to Hector’s copies. My first purchase was ETD in the early nineties: I was really excited to replace my worn out bootleg vhs copy with a widescreen version. It was like watching a new movie… until I discovered the nunchaku sequence was cut. Looking at the box cover I saw that I’d missed an obvious clue- the nunchaku chain had been painted over to make it look as if Bruce was holding a staff. Memories!
Stephen Thank you! The ETD VHS is amazing! Do you still have the one you mentioned below? Was fun visiting the video stores when they existed! Glad you enjoyed the show and have a wonderful weekend buddy! ✌👌😊
@@CharlesDamianoBLC Hey Charles. Yes, I still have it stored in my parents loft. It was the 20th anniversary 1993 release with the artwork on a white/ silver background with dragons on it. I hauled my vhs player to my uncle’s house so I could splice together an uncut version by inserting the bootleg video nunchaku scene into the widescreen version. I watched that many many times until I finally got the uncut dvd!

MM CAN I ASK A QUESTION WHAT YEAR DID HIS MOVIES WAS RELEASED ON CBS FOX'S VIDEO CASSETTES BECAUSE I HAD A COLLECTION OF THEM WAY BACK IN THE EARLY 90S ?🤔

Later on the rights of the Bruce Lee films Fists Of Fury/The Big Boss, The Chinese Connection/Fist Of Fury, Return Of The Dragon/Way Of The Dragon and Game Of Death in the USA were taken by CBS/FOX and in the UK by Rank Video I have the 1997 4 Front of these and in these the main feature starts with the original Rank Video logo these were reissues of the 1993 Polygram releases and were licenced by Rank Film Distributors later to be merged with ITC Entertainment by Carlton/ITV and the 1986 re-issues came out as part of Rank's Yours Forever series via Screen Legends and these 4 were the first Bruce Lee films to be sold for under £10 Enter The Dragon would not come out as a under £10 release until 1988 in terms of the Rank tapes I have the 1986 Rank/Screen Legends release of Way Of The Dragon which is cut and the pre-cert Rank Fist Of Fury from 1982 which is uncut (whereas the 1986 sell through is cut) as is the 1980 Warner Home Video release of Enter The Dragon which is uniquely the uncut version of the original theatrical cut from 1973 if you want Enter The Dragon in the UK with the nunchaku scene intact now the only option is the 25th Anniversary cut Warner should have included both the 25th Anniversary and the original 1973 cuts in the 2008 BluRay

I ran all the way home from the shop worried that security would come after me for being under age 😂
I don't suppose that copy of The Big Boss that Hector has contains any of the missing scenes does it?

Do you remember when you thought that there could be nothing better than video tapes. The only Bruce Lee film I've seen in a cinema was Fist of Fury, Then I realised how much of the screen was cropped in the videos. But at the time they were the greatest thing available.

Lisa, I've just left a reply for Charles about how much the videos were cut over here. Pam Hadden for the Bruce Lee Society got us to write to the film censors and complain. I've still got some of their really bland replies. They were asking full price of £50 for these cut versions back then.

Memories!

@@CharlesDamianoBLC Hey Charles. Yes, I still have it stored in my parents loft. It was the 20th anniversary 1993 release with the artwork on a white/ silver background with dragons on it.
