Philippines, Our country is yearning for the Spanish Amore, that is forgotten by the modern generation.
Its because filipinos are becoming more nationalist. They rather want pre colonial heritage than spanish heritage. Thats just it

Me gusta la musica espanola. Pilita es la ultima huella de cantante espanola en Filipinas. Soy filipino de Cebu. Es importante que valoremos nuestra herencia hispana. Durante 3 siglos, Filipinas había sido una colonia de España. Mi bisabuelo era de ascendencia española y muchos filipinos tambien.

"Historia De Un Amor" is one of my favorite songs, though I don't learn Spanish - I just look at its English translation to understand the lyrics! I think the song is about a person who adores his/her lover like a god (the lyrics "you were always the reason for my existence " and "adoring you, for me, is a religion " are what make me realize how deep is the love for the beloved).

Just a footnote. This song, one of my favorite Spanish music, was first sung by Luis "Lucho" Gatica which became very popular in the RP in 1960 or 1961. Lucho es un Chileno and of course very much loved by his native Chile. He did not become popular as a "cantante" (singer) until he moved to Mexico where he sang this song which thereafter became popular worldwide. Lucho later married a Mexican woman.
