They said "quite big" suggesting that this will most likely be significantly bigger and longer game than Hollow Knight. I'm so ready.
More time dose not mean it will be good. There are games that took years more than they should have and was ass but more time is never a bad thing.

Also one thing to keep in mind; there will be bugs in Silksong (no, not that kind). Team Cherry is 2 people. They could spend hundreds of hours looking for bugs and get most of the big ones, but when multiple thousands of people put hours into the game, they’re bound to find some undiscovered ones eventually. And that’s OK. It’s not going to be a perfect game and I think it’s important to remember that. But it’s going to be an awesome game, that much I’m sure of.
The context here is multiple recent AAA launches of borderline unplayable games due to game-breaking bugs. I don't think anyone expects perfection from Team Cherry, but I would definitely be disappointed if the game suffered from frequent and obvious bugs.

I'm honestly thrilled to get *any* news. The confirmation that 1) the team is still alive and 2) they're still working on Silksong is, frankly, *great* news. They're going to make this game as amazing as they can, and I'm here for it. The last thing any of us want is for Silksong to be rushed, after all. Patience is a virtue! It'll come when it comes, and it'll be awesome, and it will be *so* worth the wait.

@Sans Deltarune That doesnt really make me feel better because of a few things. The creator of this video says that "there are not signs of development problems". Its a month before release. Lets be real. There most definitely is a problem in the development enough to delay it. Delays are never a thing where its for the hell of it.
Its one thing to take your time which is important, but in that case, dont give release dates. "Cherry time" as they call it? Rather than give a release date and go dead silent. The cynicism in me in this last decade and some years in this era of gaming leads me to believe this will not be the last delay. Hopefully, there's a better heads up notice.
I'm actually glad they're taking their time, and that they're not giving into pressure, because they want to make this game worth the hype! :D

@@catalinaledermann They might not have known! I guarantee that they have plans for DLC content already. They're likely trying to figure out how much content to actually put into the game. Obviously polishing the game as much as they can, too.

And what if the news was "we're still making a game"? What would it give You? Stop being a toxic whiner. The fact that they've been making the game was obvious for years. They ever had to confirm this. Why is it always that gamers are so insufferably hateful, just because they cannot wait few years for game to develop? Always have been transparent. There was nothing to hide. We've known that the game is in development and that they are working on it already. The only news that made any sense was delay announcement. They don't have to confirm that the game is in development. I don't get why people are doubting this? Why people even have the audacity to demand them to share news about the game. If they don't have any news to share, they shouldn't do that. But now, that they know that there is a delay, that's valid reason for making an announcement.

I was pleased that Team Cherry wasn’t like that. I didn’t mean to imply that they had demonstrated poor conduct regarding communication, but I can see how my comment could convey that. I apologize.

I am just salty with people complaining about Team Cherry being bad that they don't share news every single day or even better that they don't release the game. People should be more respectful. I appreciate that Team Cherry doesn't do what people wants, but what they should do - make a game that will be great. People are just people. Constantly hating that something is in development (when it should be), but when certain games are released and they are buggy and unstable, they are complaining about this too. So what do even people want? Them to work 24/7 just to make the game? That's what I can't stand from this community.
@@Netsuki Well, I do not agree entirely with you. Don't get me wrong, I love Hollow Knight and Team Cherry, and I do NOT support harassments towards them. However, I do support people being critical and provide constructive criticism. I understand that game development takes time and that it is better to not rush things, nevertheless, I think that Team Cherry could engage more with its (highly dedicated) fandom. I do not mean news everyday, but I don't think that being radio-silent for so long and only giving news 2-3 weeks before the 'last known deadline" is proper communication. That being said, I'm happy we finally got some news and I can't wait to play it.
TL;DR: They made an awesome game, and I'm sure Silksong will be excellent too, but I think they can improve in their communication.
@@A1V4R0cs It's really not bad that they don't communicate much until they're close to release. Just look at what happened with No Man's Sky. Person who isn't trained to deal with media isn't careful enough with their promises, hype goes through the roof and results are disappointing.
I would love more news and updates, but they really don't have the manpower for that.
I of course want them to wait until the game is perfect to release it, but I also think Team Cherry could do better with keeping their fans spirits up. This message wouldn’t hurt so much if they hadn’t been so radio silent for so long. It just sucks man, but I also get it

I was really looking forward to june because according to the last piece of news about Silksong we got the game was supposed to be released sometime in june at the latest. I feel like I should be sad or dissapointed that Silksong is getting delayed but I'm not. Honestly it's quite exciting to know that the game we've all been waiting for for so long got so big that the only known release date (however vague it was) is now not valid. Apparently Silksong is so big that Team Cherry need additional time to polish everything and make it the best they can before giving us the ability to play it. Normally when I hear about a game getting delayed I just think somthing like "Yeah that's good. Devs have more time so the game will be better" and see others get sad and annoyed about the delay. But now that I actually care about the game that is getting delayed i excited even more. We all thought that Silksong will be ready and released in June but now that's not true and I can't help but wonder how it will turn out and how amazing Silksong will be. I never thought that i would see news about a game not being released as planned and get so hyped.

Just about every major voice in the conversation is nothing but positive and supportive, even as our fingers are twitching in anticipation of getting this long-awaited game. I can't imagine the pressure those poor guys are under to deliver, and I imagine it's an immense comfort to them getting all the support and assurance that they do from their base. at first I was dissapointed but after hearing the emotional speech you gave (and reading the tweet) it made me even more hopeful than I was before!
At this point I've made peace with the fact that it'll be released eventually, and the longer it takes, the greater the masterpiece. Honestly good news to hear that they're committed to working at their own pace, and especially good news to hear more details will be upcoming!

The pressure is strong on them to deliver a game that will become as beloved as Hollow Knight is, and I'm really happy they're taking their time. I remember when Silksong was first announced, Elden Ring was a myth at the time, now it has dlc on the way.
Much rather they do this then wait until closer to June 12th, just hope they start to speak out more in the future.

I’m actually relieved in a way because I have a huge backlog of games I’ve bought on Steam that I haven’t gotten around to playing yet and now I’ve got more time to do that before Silksong becomes the only thing I play for like 3 months at least

Honestly, I’m just happy to get actual information from the team after so long with radio silence, and even though it’s not “the game is coming out on this date”, it’s good to hear that they’re not crunching to push something out and are taking their time making the game they want to and making it not be a buggy mess. Yeah, I didn't put much reliance on that XBOX release window. When there was no confirmation from Team Cherry, I figured it might be 2024 before it hit.
Honestly, I'm always happy to hear this sort of thing. Yeah it'd be cool to get to play it soon, but whenever developers take longer to make a game it makes me feel more reassured that the game is going to be a really good one.
I guess it's not necessarily gaurunteed, but I'd much prefer it over a rushed release and a lack luster game.

While I wanted Silksong to be released so bad and felt sad when I heard that it’s gonna take longer, having heard that there’s still more development even now makes me imagine the GIGANTIC scope of that game, after many years of polishing and bug-fixing (Ironic for a game about bugs) and mechanics. I can imagine my first play through in Silksong being twice as long as my first play through in Hollow Knight! *I AM READY FOR THE CHALLENGE!!*

I did not expect that from team cherry, from all of the people they are the ones that would mention a release only when they are 1000% sure of it
Likely by the time they accepted Xbox offer to include the game in their gamepass, as well as the 12 months window to aim for, they likely believed they could get the game done within that time, but as their ideas keeps growing and expanding, they were forced to accept they could not respect it anymore, so thus the delay.

They’re taking their sweet, sweet time because as they’ve made the game so big after all this time, they still need to play test it all as well. Basically, they’re not only still making the game, they’re also trying to complete it. For this, I am worried, not about if it’s bad, but if it’s going to be hard as crap to beat. In all honesty though, it’s great they’re taking their own time to complete and perfect it, so that it can come out a finished product.
