While true to an extent, even if I had an MWD, there were 2 HIC's in the scenario where i actually was on gate. MWD would not have helped. In more recent fights i've been using MWD battleships (polar napoc), i've been held down by other ships that I was capable of fighting (orthrus, stilleto, other tackle etc) and they'd warp a carrier in just to blap me to minimize loss on their other ships. Is it a valid tactic? Sure, its just frustrating that battleships don't really have a place anymore with the proliferation of carriers in every setting. Except for pirate battleships in fleet settings.
Keep in mind, the area's i've lost more battleships to carriers is in lowsec, its not like i'm trying to kill ratters, i'm in a plex looking to fight, and i keep getting carriers that warp to me after other ships have held me down. Hell i even had someone drop a nyx on my nighthawk once. It was fit with MWD, but the vigilant on the gate i was on, webbed me before i could do anything. So i don't think an MWD alone is sufficient to escape these, will it give better positioning advantages to minimize getting dropped on? Yes. But you cannot outrun fighters with an MWD battleship, they'll still hit you (even better since your sig is the size of a planet now).
Yeah definitely there are some situations where you just can't get away and it can be very frustrating. I've been watching most of Lussy Lou's (iBeast, iWorstPlayerEver) streams and he consistently chooses mwd on his BS's and a set of ecm drones and it is surprising how many times he is able to escape some pretty shitty situations.
I myself took on a gate camp the other day in a rattlesnake that i could have fit for max tank but instead put both MWD and MJD on. When I decloaked, even tho there were 2 ashimu's and a t3d I was still able to get back to gate with the momentum from my overheated MWD. I proceeded to engage the group and killed a talos and ashimmu before they started warping off. A proteus then decloaked and light a cyno for 9 blops. Since I was on gate I was able to deagress and jump thru in about 20% structure. This would not have been possible without the initial burn from the MWD. While I totally get that it can be situational, I think having an MWD honestly just gives you more options and the potential to leave before carriers become part of the equation.
Also, I totally agree with the sentiment that battleships are getting left behind in a lot of areas and it is pretty frustrating. Even small areas like cargo size (which helps with 3200's) are being completely out classed by t3d's and Command Dessies.
How do you make your money in game lol to afford all this stuff? Also do you do small gang or duo roams?

man with the nighthawk why dont you slap a fed navy webifier on there... its not as expensive as the republic fleet web and it has almost the same range... given how often your builds require you to overheat your web for range ... i mean atleast on your nighthawk build.

Sure, if you exclude the carrier's from the first 8min of the video. Show me a battleship that can solo a carrier and their gang. There isn't one, hence why i'm killing what i can and leaving.
Did you even watch the video, or read the captions to see what i'm showing? I mean, i really don't care about your opinion, but at least read the damn info on the screen to understand what i'm showing. I even call it out that the fights in the RNI aren't even good fights, but its more the roam as whole that was enjoyable, as i dodged 2 carrier drops and still got kills.

where's your solo vid jason? clearly you're an accomplished enough pilot in the realm of solo pvp to offer such criticism, why not let us return the favor? There's a decent number of solo pilots here in the comment section that disagree with you, maybe you should take your ignorance and uselessness to their channels and critique them as well you dumb sumbitch.
Cap stable paladin can solo 2 carriers. Given enough time to kill them of course. But yeah this Jason guy is a dickhead.
I've actually looked into this several months ago. I'm considering doing it, i just feel like the price for a paladin is exceedingly high, when i could just do another suicide phoenix and get more kills and tank 2 carriers.
