I've watched almost every available live performance of 'Black Books' but nowhere has Nils performed the guitar solo as well as he does for the recording used in The Sopranos episode. There is something so beautifully melancholy and pure in that version that Nils has just never been able to recreate in any of the other versions.
@@robjj5373 Can't be sure. That's what the song credits say in HBO Sopranos episode music guide section. It's possible it was a special recording just for the episode and not an actual 'live' version because there is no audience sounds.
Recommended by my Brother. Interested in the use of the thumb to pluck the strings. Nils is a legend. saw him at Bristol Colton Hall. Only about 10 people turned up. Pity it was a great show.

Are you sure the version in the show is live?
