Kayak Fishing Wave Break Island Gold Coast

Sit back, relax and tune in for a recent kayak Fishing trip to the scenic Wave Break Island on the Gold Coast. We left early morning at 6.00am after parking on marine parade and setting up the kayaks. I have tried to be as descriptive in this video as possible to assist people who want to go over there on a kayak or try to fish in a similar way. The fishing was pretty good on the eastern side of the island. We managed to catch 5 flathead and a small bigeye trevalley on lures. once you get across to the island there are lots of sandy walking tracks which you can walk around and explore. I'll definitely be going back to have another fish there. This trip was 3 1/2 hours in total on the island, fishing and kayaking. We were finished by 9.30am. Any questions, feel free to comment!

BCF 3D mullet 8.5cm
Berkley skid jig 20 gram

Thanks heaps DANG Fishing! Yeah, there was a school of bait sitting there and my brother got 5 flathead all up on the Berkley Gulp 3in shrimp - I only put a couple of them in the video but they were all similar size. Heaps of fun on a light setup. Thanks heaps mate. I might go to crab island next time it’s just up the river. 🎣

Thanks Max! That would make sense because the tails of the soft plastics kept getting bitten off. I ended up using metal lures to try and save my plastics. I’ll keep an eye out for toad fish next time and try to steer clear of them. Thanks heaps! 🎣
