I wonder what material Hot Toys used for the organ sac of their General Grievous. I saw pictures of the figure and the armor pieces do open to reveal it. I'm not sure if it's a softer material like rubber or something (including the organs inside it). I know Sideshow used plastic but I wonder what Hot Toys used.

I just preordered mine. This is my first time buying from Hot Toys and first time paying $400 for a figure, but this is literally the Grievous figure of my dreams so it is worth it.
@ I bought it from Sideshow, but it’s my first Hot Toys figure I ever bought. I personally don’t like spending several hundred on a figure unless it’s something I really want and a Grievous figure like this is something I’ve been wanting ever since 2005. 😂

It is diecast , they have this gradient cover over the promo pic so the red highlight on the diecast feet is not that obvious . Do look it back and you can see it’s actually highlighted red
There's a neat shot in The Clone Wars of Obi-Wan fighting Grievous with a lightsaber + electrostaff while Grievous is using all four arms. With this Grievous figure + the recent Clone Wars Obi-Wan figure released, that'd be a pose I'd love for someone to recreate.
A source mentioned the arms are indeed one piece and it actually bends while it was combined , how cool is that ! Saw this in some fb hk hot toys group btw
I was looking at promo pictures and the base of his feet are made of die-cast but the claws are still plastic. As long as the feet are heavy enough to really plant him, that's all that matters
I would love to see a Magnaguard from episode 3 as hot toys. 265 - 280 Dollar Price. would perfectly stand next to this Grievous. I mean the Design of those Guys is Insane They Could make the whole Separatists like admiral Trench etc.
Never have I been more excited to have a figure in my (droid) collection! Secretly hope they will announce a Magnaguard too but I won't get my hopes up, they are maybe a bit too niche for most...

Funny how they have yet to show the lightsabers with the light up function. The web of cables coming out in 4 different directions will just look terrible.
Yep, but they d really need to engineer the figure with electronics in mind and this being a thin body, seems complicated but HT should really think about it.
Hot toys should experiment with wireless power for the lightsabers (like with the iPhone plus the magnets). It will take some time to figure out but it would be worth it and it will make it feel realer
I'm really worried about the arm joints because we see it with these 4 arms but no photos with two-arm poses that show us the arms bent so I suspect that the arms are connected We will not have a pose with good joint ranges, I hope I am wrong.
Tbh it actually came slightly earlier than I was expecting given 2025 is the 20th anniversary of ROTS, I though they might have held back the announcement and PO till then but very happy they didn't and we could be getting the release next year instead. Now we just need a red robed Chancellor Palpatine to close out the major characters from ROTS.
am I crazy or is this Grievous a bit wide in the chest than usual I know the Clone Wars Grievous has the Wide broad chest but the Movie Grievous has a more thinner chest please correct me
Actually, it is, and it's based on the one Grievous used in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), which I preferred. In ROTS, Grievous was using three duplicate lightsabers, which were Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unlike Hot Toys, Sideshow Collectibles instead created all four unique designed lightsabers exclusively just for Grievous.
@@cjv929 Interesting, I haven't watched Clone Wars in a while and didn't notice that his sabers matched the set seen there. I just think most collectors would prefer he had the sabers he used against Obi-Wan in ROTS instead, which like you said, included the duplicates of Anakin and Obi-Wan's hilts from the film.

Those Sideshow ones in the v1 and v2 are both under 180 online now lol i cant believe you paid 900 when a 1/4 scale premium format is under 700 shipped now. Shows how crazy people were for a Grievous and how loved he is

The wires and junction box is bad idea. Will look terrible trying to hide them. I’ve said it before I must be the only one that got an excellent tight GG with the second run. He is on shelf in a dynamic pose and was not hard to pose. I am happy as hell with it.

Grievous looks amazing! But the color looks a bit off, he has to be tan, as he was in the movie rather than white. Hope the final product will be the right color, on the promo pics he’s color looks right.ewerything else is flawless! I ordered this and the damaged Vader too, LETS GOOO!!!

Justin did you talk to Howard Chan about any other materials they can use outside of pleather? I really would like to hear his explanation on why they use pleather, I want to hear how bad it is so we can prove him wrong. We need to let him know that want to buy these figures, pose them, leave them in that pose, put them in a cabinet, and not have to worry about anything.

If I do end up getting this it's definitely gonna be cause of FOMO. I don't really collect lightsaber users cause it's not my main focus for my Star Wars collection - with Vader being the obvious exemption. But more than anything I'm just so curious to see the "art" behind this figure. Like what will they do that puts Sideshow and anyone else that's made this figure to shame
My one critique of this figure is that it doesn't look like you can move his neck relative to the collar, meaning you can't recreate the hunched look he has for most of the movie. I want to display him in his funny T-Rex pose but I don't think it'll be possible to get right

For the lightsabers, why can't companies just use magnetic leds? They don't take up much space and you don't have to worry about cables sticking out.

Usually hot toys are pretty good with QC but 2nd batch is safer I guess
